  1. Hope they don't try and turn it into an all in wonder game like they did with Jak and Daxter 2, ruining the experience IMHO. Mission: Drive Samus to the 3 bars located on the maps and smash the space pirate ships outside to get them off your back. Samus meets GTA ROFL.
  2. BBC News 25th of December: Yeah I have 4 scart sockets, one if orange and the rest are black so I'm assuming that the orange one is RGB. Cheers.
  3. Sarcasm, I like her "EUGH" sounds when she falls. I was one of the people who thought she was strangely hot when she was unveiled in the Zero outfit in Smash Dojo. I was a little worried.. first time i've had an attraction to an animation before.
  4. I don't think so personally.. Nintendo said it was dropped. Matt C was onto the trail before it was announced.. seems pretty solid to me. I was pretty bummed as it would have been nice, seeing as it's a quiet, small, low energy device that would mean I could just have that and a freeview box for University. Plus the possibility of fast forward and rewinding with the Wiimote excited me.
  5. Gifts/Bonuses with Twilight Princess? I say no. However I am sure there will be some Tingle DS/Twilight Princess Wii interactivity wirelessly.. it was a failure on the Cube because the cable problem. I think they'll work nicely together as a little advice system or something. Would also be an early attempt for Nintendo to bridge the relationship with the DS and Wii. Personally I think 3rd party Wii games are going to be £29.99, Sega Europe for example has very competitive pricing for DS games and will certainly offer Super Monkey Ball at this price point. However first party Nintendo games.. I think they're more likely to be £39.99 as there is a risk that any lower it might canibalise the DS game sales at full price £29.99 I'm sure however.. if you look at online retailers shortly after launch you'll find games between £24.99 and £34.99, with very little deviation from that price range. As for Wiimakes, I'm not sure if there is the financial viability there? There are some great Cube titles which would bolster the Wii line up.. but how much would they charge? And what effect would it have on the charts and sales of newly published games? It is the kind of thing that publishers would hate.. which is why I'm skeptical of any Wiimakes from third parties. A classic collection from Nintendo? Sure why not.. The reason why we don't know line ups is because the line up is probably very up in the air.. disc production is bound to start about a month before the system launches.. so at that point Nintendo Europe will offer us a more concrete line up.
  6. Well apparently once you made the exchange on the website you phoned them up, paid and it came pretty swiftly. If we do get it.. I doubt it will be as well packaged as the DS pak- 3 demos and a shirt.. that must have taken some organising. But the Wii comes with Wii sports.. so providing they have the stock and can sort out couriers it shouldn't be a problem. I don't mind paying a little extra for a courier to get my Wii + Wii Sports a month or so early.. I can't see how it would be a problem.. Nintendo UK probably has them in storage for several weeks before they go out via the distributor to stores nationwide.. they have the infastructure there to deliver it quickly. This is all under the assumption that they are not already planning a Wii VIP pak.. I wouldn't put it past them considering the last one was a success.
  7. I'd prefer if you didn't use that almost exactly.. it will look like it was an automated spam assault then. But please by all means use it for ideas and talking points. I especially like that you've included the point about stars and money.. didn't think of that. Thanks for the support.
  8. Remember this? This was offered for 1000 stars + £129 you got yourself a really great package. 3000 people were out there spreading the word about the DS, letting their family and friends play 3 really great games. The Nintendo Wii is not different in that it has new features, new ideas and it's very different from the core market of products currently available. I am calling on all forumites who would like to see a Wii VIP package put together to e.mail Nintendo POLITELY suggesting that they sort one out. So a few thousand of us can have a Wii + Wii Sports a month early at no financial loss to Nintendo UK.. and it will help them spread the word a bit. I make it at 69 days until the Wii launches, so obviously Nintendo UK will have to do a bit of organising.. but I really think it might be worth a shot. Say a 100 people e.mail in over the space of a few days asking for a Wii VIP pak- maybe they'll take us seriously. Here are the contact details- I emphasise, be polite.. we are not a mob. Whoever said the internet can't be constructive?
  9. I love Reggie's bluntness, in the AOL or Yahoo! interview recently he was asked about how people are going to pay for a typically free browser. He was tired and said, yeah we're gonna have to work on that I suppose. He didn't sound enthusiastic and didn't seem to have much faith in the idea that people will pay for it.
  10. NO. SEX IS SO MUCH BETTER SILENT. METROID IS ABOUT BEING ALONE. IT WOULD RUIN THE ATMOSPHERE. Besides, wasn't she raised as an orphan by a alien species? Can't imagine she's fluent with the universal language English. It would ruin the authenticity if you ask me.
  11. ROFL........
  12. Yeah but my point is, for all we know save files on average could be 100kb, thus 100 games results in 10mb roughly of storage.. And who has time to play a game every 3 days? Let alone afford one. I think the SD port is mainly for photos, videos and importing content into the Wii. Not so much for saving content and backing it up. One features I'm really hoping for is custom soundtracks like in the xbox games.. put some mp3s on an SD card, plug it in and play randomly in game.
  13. Lacks atmosphere, which in my honest opinion should be the top priority of any simulation war game. Until they get the atmosphere that war game fans come to expect this game should not be released.. I am not a war game fan personally.. I like the twisted FPS games like Unreal.. but I enjoy Counter Strike because the authenticity and atmosphere the game brings with it's pace. This game lacks all of these things, I was tempted to buy a war game for the Wii.. but I'll wait until something better comes along.
  14. You need a HD TV to use the component cable? I can nay see any RGB slots on the back of my TV. Also GameStop in the US is offering a Wii component cable (HD Premium) especially for the Wii made by MadCatz. It's wishful thinking that it will fit.. I'm not so sure.
  15. 2 months early imho.. nothing wrong with being a scout, being prepared and all that. but the system comes with 512mb on board.. and to be blunt we have no way of quantifying how quickly the system will fill up. There's not a huge amount of games available at launch and I'm guessing their save files will all be very small.. and there's not much downloadable content either. Personally I'd rather spend £18 on downloadable content to store on my Wii than spend it on a 2gb card which might never get filled up. This is coming from someone who already has 256mb from my digital camera to use though for backups and storing photos. I really don't think there will be that much downloadable content you actually want and can afford.
  16. The one from James Bond that nearly kills you when you lose.
  17. Skated for a few hours, went to the pub.. played a poor game a pool (my first proper game) went up to a friends place. Said bye to a few friends off to university. Met my ex, she didn't let me sign her leaving book thing thinking i'd write something nasty. Now I'm a bit bummmed out and depressed.. gonna catch some zeds and get wrecked tomorrow. Mission failed. CONTINUE? Y/N Y
  18. Waiting to see what they do with Smash Bros first. The game will come out, and people will need Cube remotes.. and I am guessing there won't be enough to supply the market if Nintendo doesn't prepare. Either they're gonna allow use with the Classic remote.. or design the game specifically for it.. or release a rebranded wavebird that works with the Bluetooth. Hard to say.. but I want to it to be cheap and if possible come with Smash Bros.
  19. I would hope not personally. I wouldn't mind for the GB:Evolution.. but not for the Wii.
  20. No WiFi right now, I'll wait.
  21. This. That bad? Was thinking about getting that..
  22. DVD Player - £800 (for a good one, and no there are no shit ones on the market) PS2 - £300. They can charge what they wanted.. it had a DVD player in it.
  23. If it lasts until next generation it is good value for money. £300 for a PS2 that dies 2 years later is not good value for money. I like to think the Wii will be made better than the 360 (wave after wave of problems) and the PS3 which has Blu-Ray problems.
  24. I dunno, if you ask someone who invented the mouse and idea of a graphical user interface they don't know.. if you say who invented the computer they'd say Bill Gates probably. I don't think Nintendo are known for innovation outside of gaming circles. The fact that Nintendo are marketing themselves as in your face different this generation is a big deal in itself. Perhaps then people on the streets will associate innovation with Nintendo. But at the moment Sony has made all the high profile improvements on Nintendo's ideas. 2 shoulder buttons, 2 analogue sticks and putting the word dual in front of shock.
  25. The Wii's primary concern is entertainment. If the Wii provokes the escapist emotions that are provoked by games in the way that consoles before has done. It is not only worth the money but has succeeded in it's primary aim. We have lived in a golden age, it won't get much better. The Wii acknowledges this and says- okay, let's consolidate and bring this golden age to new people. Nintendo's back catalogue will offer well over 60% (made up guesstimation) of the greatest games ever. That is why it is worth it. If the Wii makes me laugh, if the Wii makes me smile then I will be happy.. Other people will have other expectations.. to cry, to destroy, to race, to create. I just want to smile and the Wii and DS are the best to do this. The last modern game to really make me smile was Jak and Daxter (1) on the PS2, I really think it's all downhill from now on.
