Car boot. Big ones. Haggle.

Rudebox. And anything by Portishead, which is nice just to wallow in self pity with. Radiohead has been mentioned.. everyone agrees. Yes.

Recieving is much better than sending. You can reboot the system 4 times before you get it to initiate with the USB camera. Otherwise you just end up sending a black screen to the other user.

iChat is best for audio and video on the Mac.. seeing as Airport / iSight has become standard on all Macs the prices of the accesories individually has dropped. If you have a friend who you regularly want to chat to then iChat would be the way to go, you can both get free AIM accounts and use video for free. If you intend to use MSN then I'm sorry. Mac really doesn't deliver there. I'm familiar with aMSN and it just isn't very reliable at all- even with branded USB webcams. Give iChat a go if you don't have access to a Windows Machine.. the iSight is really quite good quality.

After Halloween basically, otherwise consumers will forget about it. The real Christmas buzz, shop decorations and crap starts the first week of November here. I'd expect Nintendo to be ready mid November.. and I remember they were really swift at deploying the DS download kiosks.. so I have no reason to believe they will not be swift with these.

No vowel Wednesdays.. it'll confuse everyone but be quite a laugh. The .php BB system has a word filter which could simply replace every vowel into a space. Would take a few minutes to set up. Also is the chat room popular? I've never used it but think it would be cool to have a weekly meetup and make it an event for everyone to get to know each other better. We'll all be playing on Connect24 soon after all.

Virtual Console - All you need to know
Nintendork replied to Tellyn's topic in General Gaming Discussion
If I know anything about the world of marketing (and I think I do) they'll probably release each AAA game in chapters.. and once they're all out and have reached near maximum market penetration they'll offer a bundle of the games at a cut price for people who aren't typically into the Zelda series.. or Mario series for example. 'The Classic start set' 2000 Wii points featuring.. Zelda, Mario.. Donkey Kong yadda yadda. I don't think it would be efficient to stick to the same price structure forever. -
It's what I do. I hope I can get through to someone with the 20 seconds I spent typing the post when I was browsing the content filled posts that usually interest me in this forum. Art? Don't make me laugh. It is a glorified advert. Aim? To attract, inform and sell.

Virtual Console - All you need to know

Talking like that should be illegal. Who said I don't own the original titles? It's called ownership, plain and simple. I mean who said I have the internet? Let alone know how to use it to download roms. Someone get Phoenix Wright in here.. Nintendo is going to get some huge back lash from hardcore Nintendorks around the world because effectively we were promised the classics from Iwata.. and this is a half truth in reality. I think something should be done. -
Marketing gimmicks at it's best. I might've bought one of those controller grips seeing as I do get sweaty palms when playing an intense game. But a pack of 3? Suck my balls Nintendo. They're just copying the iTunes model.. the iTunes accesory market was swelling and the quality of the products wasn't being regulated. Apple stepped in offering it's own overpriced and licensed accesories to plug the market from cheap ones. Nintendo has taken one step early to ensure that cheap nasty accesories are not going to ruin a huge potential market. Anyone remember these? They were about £20 for a box, packaging's mighty familiar too huh? My only advice is don't buy into the hype.. dog tags? What the hell is that about? How is that going to get you a chick.. ROFL. I wear the big N around my neck not Jesus.

Why are we still discussing the box art.. it's stupid. It's like a few months before the Coldplay album got released they showed the bullshit artwork. Everyone went apeshit "OMG OMG THAT'S THE ALBUM COVER" who gives a rat's ass? It's the game that matters.. the box goes on the shelf and it's sole purpose is to protect the disc. Stop wanking over the boxes and get out more.

Games of solid design, Monkey Ball, Mario, Metroid.. and indeed some of the yearly franchises like Madden and Call of Duty have very little reason to improve. Because they are solid titles already.. established at what they do. I don't see the need to improve hugely. More to the point I don't see the need to discuss it.

Nintendo Europe you fucked up. This sucks balls. I am going to have a think about what I'm gonna do.. but I'm thinking fuck it. I wanted the Wii to play the classics on my TV.. for £180+ I could get a MAME box on the go with loads of roms and emulators. -
Online locking But could still access other countries?
Nintendork replied to Advent Vista's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It's gonna be based on the iTunes model blatantly. You can use your region, however if you want to use the other region you must have a credit card and home address at that region. With regard to the points cards.. if you buy $50 iTunes card in the states you can only use it on the states store. So in theory you could import cards from Japan/America.. then 'switch' store region.. enter the card code and download from that store. Whether doing so will erase content from your other downloaded regions is tough to say. But it'll certainly stop average joe playing non region specific games. -
Gradius and Metal Gear. Both worth £3 a pop.

nope diddly-ope.

Have you listened to the DVD commentary? I'm not sure if that's the reference they were getting at.. but nobody got it they said.

Attitudes like this result in a watered down line up of rushed games. I want to be able to play the new SSX and Red Steel.. not a half arsed version of either. Because of some stupid competition. Ubisoft has some talented people.. I'd hate them to be split up from their current teams and forced to work on projects they don't want to. I would prefer diversity in the industry. I don't see a whole lot of art coming out of Electronic Arts these days anyway.

Gaming Has Never Been More Geeky (rant)
Nintendork replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in Nintendo Gaming
We've lived in a golden age, the teething age and the stagnant age. From now on it's not going to get much better really. Until Total Recall/The Game come reality. Oh man The Game would be so cool if you could do that.. such the awesome film. I think it would be safe to draw a parallel between gaming and moore's law. We will eventually get to a point when processors can't get much better.. heat and technology will plateau and mean development of technology will hit a wall. From that point on the focus must pivot from tech to design. -
I'm sure they said this about the Dolphin, when it was still under that alias. Of course I know that is different.. but someone needs to be critical of this fairly prospective news.

Problem with that is you get 'white space' in between.. if you get it done online you can have it laser etched onto the shirt without having the white space. That also means it breathes.. my Super Man shirt is one of those vinyl iron on ones.. problem with it is- it can't breath so my chest gets all sweaty on hot days. For instance if I do the lette A, the in between bit will be white. Mega bummer.

Gaming Has Never Been More Geeky (rant)
Nintendork replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Nintendo always has been cool, it always has been mainstream. You will always get geeky fringes and stereotypes.. Ever heard of a PPP room? Porn, Pool and Playstation.. it's what bachelor's these days aim to have. I used to read PlayStation magazine.. back in the days of the PSone with games like Parappa and WipeOut being marginalised as super cool cult institutions. When I was taking a gander through I saw this thing.. it was called an .mp3 player? It was labelled as the next geeky toy from Japan. Holding a whopping 32mb you could store downloaded music on it. This was the days before iTunes and Windows media player.. I didn't even have a computer.. or the internet and certainly didn't know how to record onto it. But I bought one anyway.. I was a geek. A long time has passed since then.. mp3 is more accesible, it's simplified, it's end to end. Content is there all in one package. It's called iPod. Apparently the youth of today are the iPod generation just as we were the MTV generation. Next generation? I reckon it'll be the Nintendo generation.. it's going mainstream. That's enough reminiscing onto a nice point I thought of earlier in my haze. Bad game design is a plague! even bad game design on the 360 and PS3 will show. High Definition gaming projects require huge budgets.. and even bigger ones to make it a good one. As production costs go up.. allocations for good game design will go down.. On the Wii there isn't an issue of high production costs because the system is based in standard definition.. more time and money can be spent on great game design- see Metroid and Resident Evil. Bad games show on the 360.. but they will really show on the Wii. (that's you Tony Hawk) Which is why there will be even more incentive and competition between Wii developpers to come up with the next big thing. Look at Contact DS- a game that houses 2 worlds on each screen.. communicating through the player 'Contact' What a genius idea.. I have ultimate faith that the Wii will house more ideas like this.. I am beginning to have selective eye sight to the fanboys and people who talk about graphics on this forum. I've just started using the 'ignore' button for certain forum members. I don't have time for haters and graphics freaks. Design is more important than power has ever been. -
First up, I don't mean to be rude.. but printing your own shirts online can be very hit and miss. The quality can be very poor. So unless you have either printed a shirt yourself, or know someone personally who has- then I don't really want to hear advice from you. Anyone done this printing t-shirts online? I found http://www.shirtomat.co.uk which seems to be quite cool, they let you print on American Apparel shirts which I know are good quality. The price isn't that bad either, coming out at about £15 for a single run of one shirt. Anyone had personal experience with printing shirts online? I want to be able to print on American Apparel ideally.. but if you can give me some tips I'd appreciate it.. Google is throwing a load of shit in my face right now which I don't want. Basically I just want a shirt that says: "SERIOUSLY GREAT AWAY MESSAGE UP RIGHT NOW" and some other vaguely amusing geek type anecdotes. Price doesn't bother me too much, if it's an American Apparel shirt they're worth £15+ but the more customizable the better. Thanks.
