Rez, Electroplankton, Myst, Gran Turismo, Jet Set Radio. I could think of more probably.. all of these were originally purchased for graphics alone.. I didn't care if the music was shit.. or if it controlled badly or had no story. It looked phat. But as I have matured and money is more important in games I think game design is the primary emphasis of good graphics.. not the hardware. *goes back to the Secret of Monkey Island*

It'll sell out tbh, if not on the first day certainly in the following 2 days. Media: Wii launches, here it is in action, here are some people queuing.. this years newest toy.. yadda yadda cheaper than the xbox 360 and the PS3. Nintendo: supplies are more limited than they truely are. Media frenzy everyone panics and buys one. I've been through 3 generations of console pre-orders now, I think it will sell out. The weekend it launches on in the US is like the busiest holiday shopping period before Christmas I think someone on the 4cr podcasts said. It's when Nintendo always launches. I think in Japan there is a factor that you aren't considering, the DS is hugely popular.. made by Nintendo, when people find out the Wii is launching made by the people who made the DS they will probably go nuts. They aren't the same but Nintendo certainly are aiming for that hype again.

Pity the classic controller is shit. GC controller all the way.

To those who mention broken promises from Nintendo: I wanted optical line out, DVD playback more than all those AAA Nintendo titles on launch. What's wrong with spacing them out, instead of swamping all the 3rd party developper's sales by releasing all the Nintendo fan's favourite games at launch. Space it out, gives longevity and helps out sales of third party games.

£234, console, wii sports, controller, super monkey ball + 2000 virtual console points delivered hopefully a day or two early and in tact. Going to wait for the situation on the extra controllers/Wii Play bundle.. will probably buy them seperately on launch. No I'm not getting Zelda yet! ROFL ME LOFL

The FHC clearly costs more than a couple of shit flash game inspired mini games, personally I wouldn't pay £5 for Wii Play.. the controller is expensive because it has the extra technology in it. Wii Play is bundled with the FHC @ £29. Reason why Wii Play hasn't been given a price is because it's a promotion.

They have fuck loads of DS bundles at really great prices, DS lite + New Super Mario Bros./Animal Crossing for like £109.

It's not out yet? Looked good to me, I loved V3 hard. Broken Sword? Myst? Rez..? I liked all of them.. regarded by the masses as boring. Personally I consider them all great games but many would strongly disagree.

He asked if I'm not mistaken for Snake to go into Melee following the finalisation of the Twin Snakes.. but it was too far along in development to include any new characters so they moved it over to Dojo/Brawl. I'm not that fussed.. the integrity of the Smash Bros. series has not been damaged hugely.. Nintendo said out of principle all future characters must have previously been featured on a Nintendo console (of which Snake has had 3 outings in total). Purists might get pissy because it's not an original Nintendo creation.. fanboys might get pissy because they think that Nintendo is getting a bad deal. (yes that's you guy arguing over principles of other people) Does it matter? Not really.. nobody is forcing you to play as Snake. I'm going for Pit personally. MSX is the system that original Metal Gear appeared on before the NES.

If you purchased a gift card that's non refundable.. you spend the cash on the card and the change gets left on it for another purchase. You lose the card you lose the credit (which is why they're keeping it for you) While I'm sure most GAME stores are honest and won't make you buy extortionate ammounts of games do be wary.. read the terms and conditions if you can. Ashley will let you know GAME store policy I'm sure but the reason why they wont take your £20 for pre-order until they know stock numbers is to ensure they only take 1x£20 for every console they're allocated. With the 360 launch Microsoft was at fault by cocking stores around and being vague with premium/core packs. As a result there was lots of people wanting premium packs and not enough to go around. Thus my GAME store made the minimum purchase 5 games or take a core pack.

I thought the whole magic dust was a bit over the top.. but Japanese people lap that stuff up in their adverts. Sonic has to be sold to a new generation of kids now really.. we're all getting older now and bludgeoning grannies to death in games. I think Rings of Fire looks okay.. need to see more of it.. looks like a racer more than Sonic tbh. I also wouldn't necessarily call it old school. Faithful to the original perhaps (compared to shadow the hedgehog etc..) but not old school.

The Xbox really struggled to put Half Life 2 out.. and it required a lot of work following many delays. And that's on a system which is practically a PC. There was loads of slowdown.. I doubt it will end up on the Wii personally. The xbox version sold poorly. It's like that Counter Strike DS rumour.. rofl that was hilarious.

The age discrimination is a new law, it's meant to stop age discrimination but the stupid thing is it's not that well enforced. If the manager doesn't want to hire you then he will get away with giving preferential treatment to an older person. The fact kids will work for peanuts and are easily disposable may lead to jobs for over 18s being allocated to monkeys. I dunno.
