Throw in ET and Americas army. All the other games one needs to buy...
-
Well it doesn't matter what the brand is actually. Only things that usually differ is the cooling solution (and some offer factory overclocks) Sapphire x850xt is as good as any x850xt. From my experience there has been no difference in sapphire radeon 9700 and Hercules radeon 9700 pro. Apart from the fact that the hercules is running on a higher clockspeed. But don't the RMA mean that they send the faulty one to the manufacturer (be it ati, sapphire, Hercules, Club 3d or whatever) And get a new one in return. The manufacturer shouldn't be out of stock as the x850xt isn't that old. I can imagine the shop being out of stock, but receiving a replacement shouldn't take more than few days...

What the? Can't they just send the faulty one to the manufacturer and get one back in return? I think that there should be an RMA number to do that. (I'm assuming the x850 is still under warranty)

Well don't worry about it. You'll probably have upgraded the PC before the paste hardens or leak out. And now you know what is wrong if the temp suddenly rises

From what I have experienced the frustration in CSS comes from the fact that you don't respawn. In Quake or ET that doesn't matter show much as you will get back into the game in max 30 secs. In CSS you might have to wait for few minutes. And get killed in the first 20s of the next round. And again you're waiting for a minute or so...

Because the athlon XP is a lidless processor. AMD recommends that for long -term use a thermal pad is used. Rather than thermal grease. Thermal grease may leak out or harden over time. You can use thermal paste too, but be sure that the paste is of good quality. Pads are easier to handle too.

Well CSS is an obvious one. I don't get mad at it if I'm doing bad. Only if someone snipes me with an awp or autosniper... megaman games on the NES made me angry.

If it's a decent pc shop, they might allow you to have a copy of the driver cd. Just remember to bring your own cd-r

You could try doing a 3dmark. Then compare the results of it on the online result browser (at http://www.futuremark.com) to see what kind of scores you should get. Any applications you run while playing the games?

You'll probably hate it while you're there and want to get out of there as soon as you can. But when it actually ends you're going to miss it a whole lot.

it takes a while (actually a lot of time...) to learn blender. The key to it: learn the keyboard shortcuts. There are some good tutorials on the blender site. Just dl some of them and just force yourself doing the stuff as long as you need to. As if it's the same? Absolutely no. It does 3d modelling but thats about all that there is similar to maya or 3ds max. Personally I don't like the 'hooking' versions of maya and 3dsmax so I use a free one.

Does this mean I have to get rid of my asbestos suit? Owww But I sometimes find some flaming nice and enjoyable And to the topic, anyone listened to machinaesupremacy? http://www.machinaesupremacy.com you can get a few songs from there. The catch of this band is that they use C64 as synth in songs. And they have done a few nice video game songs. And a couple of covers which IMO turned out better than the originals.

I will only come back to this series when the damage modelling and car handling goes back to what it was in porsche challenge (porsche 2000). So far the handling in nfsu's has been terrible. This kind of game really would be great if the cars handled in the way that they do in Live for speed. I mean it was easier to play the game with keyboard than with a proper wheel/pedals. And that's wrong. But apparently the people wan it that way. What happened to racing games that required that you had some skill?

"weener heavy"- as my friend likes to call it. Or actually only means sonata arctica and stratovarius by that. He is kind of a Blind guardian fan though. And there's a band that is more even more hilarious than manowar here in finland. It's like a bad copy of them. As for me I'm pretty easily satisfied. Just give me a song with nice distorted guitar melody and I'm happy Enter sandman and master of puppets are some of my favourite songs. The latter probably because it reminds the doom- theme (or the doom theme resembles it)

Sounds like a driver or codec problem. So try to upgrade the display drivers. Have you installed any codec packs recently?
-
Maybe the power supply is going at it's limit, or is braking down?
-
Then you should try to manually set the addresses. IP would be 192.168.1.??? the ??? being 1-254. And the gateway address would be the router's LAN IP. Not the IP it gets from the ISP.
-
Oh the other is wired and the other is wireless. Have you checked the signal strength/quality? And I looked to the manufacturer's website and it tells that you might have to "register" the pc to the router. To do this you have to press a button on the router and connect the pc to it 30 secs. Not sure if I got that right though as I didn't look that much into it.
-
If you have an MSI motherboard it should have some leds at the back that tells you where it fails. If not I'm guessing that the processor might not be inserted properly/has failed or memory is shot/not installed properly. Or it might just be that there's a faulty pci card installed. And I wouldn't rule out a faulty power supply either.
-
So the dongle and the rouer connects, but is the router connected to the ISP? And how is the other computer connected to the internet?

All sata drives I know are backwards compatible. So it shouldn't be a problem. And if want to try if the jumper thing works. You just have to find a way to "short" the two pins. Didn't the hard drive have any jumpers as you bought it? You could try getting one from other drives to see if it solves the problem. But that might also make the drive that you got the jumper off not working properly.
-
Seems like he has a sata cable (red one). And the multi coloured is the power. But don't some sata drives use a special kind of power cable? I think it was a bit smaller than the molex. And check the bios that you have the correct sata settings. And if I remember correctly to install XP on a sata drive you have to install a special driver for the drive during installation from a floppy. The floppy should have come with the motherboard.

Be warned that the game performance is not as good as in xp currently. There is ~20fps drop in some games.

Need a program (converting mpg2 stream to xvid or something...)
Bogbas replied to Bogbas's topic in General Chit Chat
Thanks for the info so far But Mr.Odwin, could you tell me the name of the software you supplied the link? Just by clicking it a 'leech' page appears and I can't find a program that has the version number 1.11.89. And yes it is a transport stream. I could have captured in mpeg2 also, but capturing it that way no subtitles would've been included. But thanks to the anomalies in this country's signal, the subtitles are not shown when I play the file. They were when I first tried it but now they don't work...
