I'm pretty sure that your ram is ddr. That means that it runs in the speed of 400Mhz at 200Mhz. It's to do with clock cycles, as it performs two operations in one clock cycle. And futuremark 05? Don't you mean pc mark 05 or 3dmark 05? I googled it and only those two came up... But if it's 3dmark, the score is okay. If you used online result browser, you didn't put the clockspeed as 3800? As the cpu runs at 2000Mhz by default.

Yes they're pretty popular here, and probably have always been. But they're not über popular. So they don't stand up from the likes of nightwish, HIM etc. But back in the old days it was a boy band. Or not in a way that for example westlife is. Just all the girls liked them, and when you're at a certain age you just can't like anything that girls like So there was no way that me or my friends would call it a good band then. But times change and I think they're ok now. And their previous songs were good also. Oh and I'd like to see that too, because I don't know any proper heavy enthusiast. Well I posted this somewhere else before, but it got 0 replies. I need some input on this: Everyone knows that the future of pc gaming is in dx10 + vista. Microsoft has no plans on supporting dx10 and it's improved graphics capability on xp. There will be upgrade on dx9 but it's not the same as 10. So every pc gamer that wants to be at the cutting edge of hardware will have to buy vista. Now that's probably the only valid reason for me to buy a copy, but at the same time the reason not to buy it. Microsoft basically tells ati and nvidia what features should they have on their next graphics chip. For me it seems like Microsoft is forcing me (a gamer) to buy vista, but I don't like to be forced to do anything. Vista has many upgrades to XP but when you think about it how much do you need them? I don't even use all the features that xp has. And for some actual businesses there seems to be little or no point in upgrading to vista. Word processing, spreadsheet etc. can be done with a lesser computer running nt/xp (this doesn't mean that all businesses shouldn't upgrade though) . So I think that's why microsoft is trying to target gamers as an audience. I think there's no valid reason for xp not to support dx10 (other than lazy programmers...)

Just multiply those by two and you're getting the numbers that can run the vista with only a bit of slowdown. Seriously I have those exact specs at my other comp, and it barely can run XP. So I think that they got vista to run on that hardware, doing something with it will probably need more power...

Well the difficulty curve ramps up pretty quickly on e.g maths. On sixth grade there's basic geometry. And on the 7-9 grades there comes trigonometry, pythagoras , basic functions and equations/inequalities(is that the right word?). And basic chemistry/physics start on the seventh grade. Vectors, differential/integral calculus, statistics/probabilities, analytic geometry etc comes in the lukio.

Well there is a sort of "kindergarten" that I went to twice a week when I was 3-6. And on the last year there was "pre-school". Nothing really hard, just learning the numbers and letters. And now that I think about it, it does feel strange that I learned to read when I was seven. Then I started learning english two years after that. But I have pretty much aced every english test/exam without studying for them (Thanks to cartoons ) And that's the reason my grammar sucks... The pre school stuff isn't compulsorary (or at least I think it isn't...) But basically it helps alot in preparing you for school. Some learn to read before school some don't. I didn't. I remember when I was on first grade I started reading a book, and got stuck on every word containing "h" as that letter hadn't been taught to me yet

Thanks for clearing that up. The compulsorary school seems to be a bit longer there, as it starts earlier. Here it starts on the year you'll turn seven. I'm still undecided on if I'll go for uni or polytechnic. I'm a greedy bastard so I went through vocational school and lukio at the same time. That lasted 3.5 years. So basically it means I can apply for an university and I have a profession as well. And yes engineering is fun. Chemistry and physics have always been my favorite subjects.

Yes you do need more ram, XP eats up 256 very quickly. Also make sure that every device driver is up to date. As I have had similar problems with certain versions of ATI catalyst drivers. To check the temperatures of your PC you should read the motherboard's manua on how to do this. Probably the easiest way of finding out is using a program like motherboard monitor. But that doesn't always work without tweaking.

Ok thanks eevilmurray It's a shame that I only saw a couple of episodes, so I don't have a firm opinion on if it's good or not. But I remember watching it as a child.

Hey but seems that there's lots of physics and chemistry related stuff. Dont know about you but I find those pretty interesting. Exactly how in depth are those electro magnetics and thermal physichs? Because I've done courses on them in a school similar to your sixth form. basically the path of education here: basic school (9 years)-->vocational/sixth form(finnish lukio) (3-4years)-->polytechnic/uni (? years) And basically the final step can only be uni if you have studied in the finnish lukio. Note: I have no idea what a sixth form is. I just read somewhere that it's the closest in comparison.

The "moving" dialog box was probably it being cut&pasted from temporary files to the messenger received files folder. You can look if it's there. But it probably isn't as messenger is really crap at handling received files thinking that almost everyone of them is harmful.

Well the ony way they'll get the point is that somebody tells them about wii. I just showed the red steel trailer to a friend of mine. He's not a hardcore gamer but has a ps2 and xbox. His response was almost like : "OMFG! I have to get one. When it's available? Can I really wave the controller around like it's a sword?" If only one trailer is enough to convince someone you don't have to do much more.

If I remember correctly nintendo said that they don't like to charge people for online gaming. They would leave that decision to the developers if they want to charge you for playing their game or not. Basically this kind of "open" service is great for mmorpgs. A developer of guildwars (Jeff Strain) recently stated that the XBL system has to change dramatically if it wants to support mmorpgs. This way the developer of the game can decide what kind of features it wants to include in the game. But this has the problem that you'd probably have to pay for every game that you want to play online. I would actually like to see developers to publish a dedicated server software for PC that would enable the pc to act as a server for Wii games. That way the developer wouldn't have to pay for the servers as anyone could basically host one. But that's probably not going to happen. And someone said something about patent minefield... Well didn't Nintendo acquire a patent that included most of the features that xbox live has a few months ago?
