  1. Watching that in the Direct I thought I didn't know it was happening but turns out I just forgot. Was thinking of going back to Japan early next year...
  2. I'm not exactly holding my breath that it will be a patch on the original, but I'll watch.
  3. It wasn't really a popular thread and I can't be bothered to merge them but if anyone wants to see the original thread from the other console board it is here:
  4. Well I'll be a monkey's uncle... Including a remake of the Direct towards the end of the Direct.
  5. Apparently they have rowed back/"clarified" that multiple installs on the same machine count as one. Multiple installs across different machines though...
  6. For a company that has made numerous stupid decisions over the years, this really is the biggest. It's just regressive, an abuse of position and ill-thought out. They know review-bombing is a thing and so they're going to create a new form of abuse. I see this going one of the following ways; they back down soon and later come back with something less shit but still bad (a "key" fee for each time a game is purchased), they stick to their guns for now but back down further down the line when a lot of people flock to other engines if they can* or they never back down and burn out. The fact it's per install and they've been trying to court the Hollywood VFX market for a while suggests perhaps that's what he wants; to move from games to movies. If Epic is smart they'll offer some huge discounts, deals and migration support to ride this self-inflicted bad press. *The fact some studios are essentially stuck with it for the time being (if they can't move engines due to size, or they're releasing updates etc) and it will affect games already released AFAIK is particularly pernicious
  7. Figured it was to ride the hype train of the movie "And now over to Miyamoto San with an update on a classic Nintendo franchise you've all been asking for" Miyamoto: "Fuck F-Zero. Back to you"
  8. It seems the game has a new kind of training; Pavlovian Training. https://kotaku.com/pokemon-scarlet-violet-photo-mode-selfie-roto-stick-1850834335 (Basically when taking a photo you can play a jingle to make your Pokemon do something)
  9. That's clearly a placeholder title. It'll be "Princess Peach is starring as the main character in a brand new game"
  10. I can't really see Nintendo discussing the new console this side of Christmas. Could potentially lose themselves some sales if people know something is round the corner.
  11. I've heard it's good for an adaptation and fun overall. Don't think it'll go down as one of the best shows ever, but a fun series nonetheless.
  12. Funny you should say because that'll mark the end of new content for the game: https://nintendoeverything.com/mario-kart-tour-to-end-new-content-after-battle-tour/
  13. Is "somewhere on the internet" not good enough for you? What if I did it in the Harvard Referencing System style? 😋 But just to be clear, I don't think it is that just one of those "wouldn't surprise me 🤷‍♂️" kind of things
  14. In fairness I don't imagine he would have done those. I did see a suggestion that Nintendo got annoyed that the Mario movie voice cast was overshadowed by "why isn't it Martinet?", suggesting he "is" Mario. Don't really think it's that but wouldn't be surprised if it did at least annoy them.
  15. Watched the video and so he's... Doing the convention circuit? Which he did before anyway? Kind of feels like they wanted to change the voices and he was still in a contract, or perhaps he's so connected with the franchise if they just dropped him there would be backlash so they're just waiting for him to no longer be able to go to the events
  16. Switch 2 is as powerful as two Wiis stuck together that's snacked on some quinoa and coffee beans.
  17. And by that I assume you mean it doesn't feature angry Kirby?
  18. I only have the first because I heard the second isn't much different so I assume it works the same way round. Unless there's a particular knock off version of a song you want to hear I imagine you'll be fine with just the second.
  19. The Screen Actors Guild, currently on strike from film and TV productions in America (along with writers), is balloting it's members on whether to strike from the gaming industry. Voting will run from September 5th to 25th and if a strike went ahead it would affect the following companies: Activision Productions Inc., Blindlight LLC, Disney Character Voices Inc., Electronic Arts Productions Inc., Epic Games, Inc., Formosa Interactive LLC, Insomniac Games Inc., Take 2 Productions Inc., VoiceWorks Productions Inc., and WB Games Inc. Main points are AI, working conditions and pay. Source: https://deadline.com/2023/09/sag-aftra-possible-strike-video-game-companies-1235533458/
  20. 1) intentional pun? 2) given Nintendo responded to questions about who would voice the characters in this by basically saying "buy the game and find out" I wouldn't hold my breath
  21. Now give us a remaster of Excitebots: Trick Racing and release it in Europe this time.
