Supergrunch Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Hmm... I intend to see it on Friday... It might be a bit packed though...
Fierce_LiNk Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I carn't wait to actually see the film, but come on why techincally set it in the bloody past, and then add bloody laptops. Only two great james bond's - Roger moore and Piece Brosnan And another thing with this james bond this they have actually removed all the smart talk and gadgets. To me they are removing the best bits of bond. And bond carn't have blonde hair. Sony thanks to you buying MGM you have ruined something else. There's a massive contradiction in your post. You say Roger Moore is one of the greatest bonds, and then you say that Bond can't be blonde. Excuse me, but to my knowledge, Roger Moore did not have black hair. I'm personally glad they're cutting down on the gadgets. The Bond films were, quite frankly, starting to take the piss with gadgets. I just hope they've got a decent villain this time around. We haven't had a truely awesome villain since Sean Bean was Trevelyn.
Supergrunch Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I just hope they've got a decent villain this time around. We haven't had a truely awesome villain since Sean Bean was Trevelyn. Hopefully. There's a chance though, as it's by the same director as Goldeneye.
Nintendork Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I like reality.. the laser watch was my one gripe with GoldenEye. They don't exist.. and probably never will. I don't like that Bond has a VAIO laptop. but it's better than him having an iPod like in Blade 3. Less gadgets is good, as long as the ones that are kept are decent. Hair doesn't bother me.. Bond should play by no-ones rules, not even his own. Brosnan is the kinda guy who follows the rules and that's what I don't like. Even when he didn't it wasn't believable. Craig is pro.
Cube Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I carn't wait to actually see the film, but come on why techincally set it in the bloody past, and then add bloody laptops. Every new bond actor basically "resets" the Bond timeline (hence why M is still the same as the last few films), so don't have much relevance to the films from the other actors. If you think about it, Bond in Die Another Day should be over 60.
Stocka Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 As some of my friends want to go on Friday I probably will. I'm not a massive bond fan but am willing to see it.
Monopolyman Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 And another thing with this james bond this they have actually removed all the smart talk and gadgets. To me they are removing the best bits of bond. And bond carn't have blonde hair. Yep. I agree. They tried doing that with 'Live and Let Die', but the exclusion of gadgets contributed partially to it's mediocre reviews and lukewarm reception. They were brought back in the next film, though. It k=just doesn't seem like Bond without the gadgets. But I am looking forward to Casino Royale. I was watching Film 2006 yesterday, and they spent so much money and effortigh-speed crash between a truck and a side of an aircraft, and they left it out the film. Bloomin' 'eck. Maybe that means they're way better shit in the film.
The Bard Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Going to see it this Saturday, I haven't really liked a single Bong film I've ever watched, so I'll make sure and get nice and wasted beforehand.
Eddage Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Going to see it this Saturday, I haven't really liked a single Bong film I've ever watched, so I'll make sure and get nice and wasted beforehand. The point being? So basically your just gonna waste £5.50 (or however much it costs where you are) seeing a film you'll barely remember! Of course lets not forget the 27 pints it'll take to get you nice and wasted - so thats about, what, £70
KKOB Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 GADGETS MAKE BOND!!! and what the fuck has happened to the bond theme being released as a single? i dont even know whose done this films opening credits song, assuming it has one. i can just about handle the lack of smart talk and gadgets but no opening theme proper is just a piss take-please someone allay my fears!

I was under the impression that it has been released. 'tis not that good though.

Of course lets not forget the 27 pints it'll take to get you nice and wasted - so thats about, what, £70 Actually, It takes about 12 pints for me to get pretty wasted, either that or downing half a bottle of JD, which should cost me about £8. Movies are a lot more fun that way, especially Ice Age 2 . I don't really remember films like Bond anyway. Now kindly go fuck yourself, I never said thats how many pints it took for me to get drunk. Have you never gotten drunk and been unable to stop drinking?
Hellfire Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 007 has been sucking since Goldeneye, so I'm not excited, but this might be good.
welsh_gamer Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Seeing it on Thursday, can't wait as I'm a die-hard Bond fan. I loved Live and Let Die.....New Bond, No Gadgets, Rocking Tune....so hopefully the same can be said about this one!
KKOB Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 007 has been sucking since Goldeneye, so I'm not excited, but this might be good. tomorrow never dies was good, the world is nto enough had a kick ass theme, and the gadgets in die another day were amazing. the pierce brosnan films are my fave bonds along with you only live twice, live and let die and a view to a kill. chris cornell doing the title song . . . hmm shall listen.
welsh_gamer Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Tommorrow Never Dies is good for action, but has a silly story. Why would Elliot Carver need those exclusive broadcasting rights in China for the next 100years? He's not exactly a young man! The World Is Not Enough was pretty good. Nice story and a very human Bond in it. Die Another Day was just a fun film to watch for the refrences from past Bond films!
KKOB Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 song wise nothing can top the world is not enoughs video or goldeneyes song. they are probably in the top 5 best bond songs ever. the theme song aint that bad, its right for the feel of the film so far as i can tell, sounds very bond-y. though i think scissor sisters do a better job at a bond song. and an awesome-er video

If you haven't fucked your liver up so badly that you die before hand!
Konfucius Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Woah, I didn't realize it would be out so soon. Thanks for the reminder. Definitely going to watch that one.
martinist Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 You know one day your gonna grow up and realise that getting wasted at every opportunity really isn't all that great! If you haven't fucked your liver up so badly that you die before hand! and that is why i don't drink, common sence rules

If you haven't fucked your liver up so badly that you die before hand! Yeah, I know, I don't really drink that often, I go out on average maybe once a week, besides, it's fun, (for me anyway, being socially awkward as I am ) So anyway, peace.
Eddage Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Yeah, I know, I don't really drink that often, I go out on average maybe once a week, besides, it's fun, (for me anyway, being socially awkward as I am ) So anyway, peace. When you say you go out on average once a week is that get pissed once a week or just go out and see your mates (and it is possible to do this without picking up a pint!)? Seriously if its the former then I would suggest spacing it out a bit more, just going on personal experience but since I stopped getting drunk so often (seriously, once you get pissed, throw up on your bedroom floor and then have to sleep in a different room for a week and a half due to the smell you'll realise that there are some pretty nasty downsides) I find that when I do go out to get drunk (e.g. party) then it just seems that much better - because it isn't a week in, week out occurrence! Maybe you should try it. Just my two cents (we're English shouldn't it be two pence?)!
