mcj metroid Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 What wii games do you think will flop put simply or games that will get bad reviews or just disappointments mine are mario party 8,marvel ultimate alliance and dragon quest what are yours? edit:i really have to stop putting exclamation marks after my thread names.
*Dalco* Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 i recon wii sports won't be all that, after 5 minutes i feel the novelty will wear off
Retro_Link Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I think Mario Party 8 will be a success! On the other hand; - GT Pro Series - Rampage: Total Destruction - Monster 4x4 World Circuit - Cars etc... Will not!
AshMat Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Mario Party 8, yeah sure, the control scheme will make it cool, but for how long. This will be like, the 20th minigame based game you paly on the Wii, it's bound to get boring.
mcj metroid Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 mario party will be miles better if they got rid of the board game system.i played every game and its crap in every game
Tellyn Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Rayman. 70 minigames can only last so long, and if it's like Wario Ware, completable in less than two days.
blender Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 ultimate alliance will be great it build on the xmen legends stuff
conzer16 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I reckon the new IP Project H.A.M.M.E.R. of which we know very little about will flop.
BlueStar Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Red Steel imho. Disagree with Wii Sports, I reckon it'll the the console's killer app early in it's life.
Colin Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Red Steel more than anything else. Yep, only game I'm worried about. Apart from the usuals, the rest is just shovelware so not alot is really expected anyway off of them.
mcj metroid Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 Rayman. 70 minigames can only last so long, and if it's like Wario Ware, completable in less than two days. well i guess its more in the multiplayer though which could last forever if it's that good.i still play wario ware on gamecube with friends
flameboy Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Marvel Ultimate Alliance will be awesome theres a movie up on either gamesvideos I think, and it looks so good, with the gesture based combat looking awesome and how you can combo moves together...I won't be getting it at launch owing to money probs, but soon after I will.
solitanze Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I think from a review stand point, Wii Sports will flop, it will just be too simple to the verteran game journalists, expect scores of around 6/10, [REFER to MATTs Comments in his IGN blog] but from a non gamer stand point and people that just want short bursts of fun, to the public, it will be a success. Red Steel won't flop as a game, but will be heavily penalised by veteran gamers that will prefer traditional control over the new control scheme, but again, the masses will enjoy. Necro Nesisa will FLOP guaranteed...
triforce_keeper Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Why is everyone saying (except solitanze) that Red Steel will flop? It's a mature game and got 90% in n-gamer. I think its gunna be a big seller! On the other hand I think the crappy imported games from ubisoft will flop.
dabookerman Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 90% of all Wii games. Make that 95% The Wii will have pretty much a similar list of games like the ps2 or the DS/gba It will have the most games, and thus, the most crap.
Nintendork Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 everything from Ubisoft, EA and THQ and that Tony Hawks game. AAA titles for the win.
Jamba Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 How has no one even mentioned Necro Nesia yet? That game just looks plain awful.
blender Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 zelda has got to be overrated. I mean this game is sooo hyped now! Can it possibly live up to it I wonder? Most on here will probably say hell yeah. I'm not sure... especially if scored relative to the GC
Ren of Heavens Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Far Cry: Vengeance, We haven't heard much from this despite it's comming out in two weeks in the US. Not a good sign... I think it's just a mediocre Xbox port with tacked-on Wii control. Red Steel, Just your average first-person shooter with control problems. Sword play is gimmicky and multiplayer seems outdated with no online, LAN or anything special. Could have been good, but it seems to have been rushed out for launch. Dragon Quest: Swords, just a simple first-person slash spinoff with low production values. Pokemon Battle Revolution: More of a N64/GC Pokemon Stadium game than we were hoping for... I think most launch games except for maybe Nintendo's own games will have some control issues...
Zechs Merquise Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I think Red Steel will be a major seller, but we will also hundreds of preowned copies lining the shelves in a week, I think it will also recieve far less favourable reviews from the rest of the gaming world. I think the following games will all flop/sell poorly: Happy Feet Rampage: Total Destruction Gottlieb Pinball Classics Super Fruit Fall Cars Barnyard Spongebob Squarepants: Blazing Angels Squadrons of WW II GT Pro Series Monster 4x4 World Circuit Open Season I think most people will pick up 2 games with their console, some three (no including Wii sports) I can't imagine anyone NOT picking Zelda, I think a lot will buy Red Steel and other popular ones will be Rayman, Monkey Ball, Call of Duty 3.
Hero-of-Time Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Like its been said many of the ports will flop and although I still have Red Steel preordered I still very skeptical about it despite it getting 90% from N-Gamer. The majority of titles made from the ground up on the Wii with a bit of thought put into them will/should be the biggest sellers with Zelda being the exception.
Owen Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I've never really worried about 'Red Steel' it looks fantastic overall. My only worry is, if it's short. Rayman always lets me down. I have it preordered because it's a different type of game...but i'm hoping and preying it doesn't bore me like the others. (The only Rayman i haven't played is the N64 one, which is meant to be fantastic).
