somewhat funny even though it's filled with inconsistencies and speculation. I refuse to believe Captain Falcon won't be in!

Well it was obviously done before the Ness & Jigglypuff leak...

I just ignore any above 151.

*high five*

*with sarcsasm* ignorant fools, just say that to the almighty Alpha pokemon and see if you can ignore it while it...creates...you... >.>... (maybe darkrai would've been a better burn... shaymin prolly would've made a better taunt too...)

Watched the online test video. Only bit of noticeable lag was just after Samus completed the final smash and the others were KOed...

Who i'll be playing against, the average distance will be at least triple of what was demonstrated in the video, so I expect there to be a little more lag than what was evident in the video...

Todays update is a video demonstration the WiFi Connection!:

Test Battle: Tokyo vs. Kyoto

While it’s true you can battle over Wi-Fi, your connection environment and the distance between players can cause great changes in speed. That fact probably makes you a little uneasy.

So, we conducted an online battle between Nintendo’s headquarters in Kyoto and the development team in Tokyo. The distance between Kyoto and Tokyo...is nearly the same distance between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Uk/Irleand site has slightly different wording:

So, we conducted an online battle between Nintendo’s headquarters in Kyoto and the development team in Tokyo. The distance between Kyoto and Tokyo is about 500km, or 310 miles.

Here’s the video of that match.

The sound effects of certain items are very, very different from what we're used to from Melee - oh well.

I love the videos, and I guess we can rest assured - if we play online against someone from our own country, we won't experience much lag.

Its quite possible the sounds are just the Japanese ones.

I remember the beam sword having a different sound effect in the different versions.

black charizard confirmed via brawl central

Old.....and kind of obvious too. it's the only other colour they come in so...:heh:

Anyway....WORST update EVER.

With the Japanese having one of the best Internet speeds/systems ever, this video means nothing for anyone without cable net, which only 1/2 the UK is able to get.

Half the reason for Lag is the use of the Wii's wireless.

Ethernet adapter is the only way to go unless you're in the same room as the router...

That's looked like some really fluent gameplay. Considering that distance I think an N-Europe tourney would be lag-free

So is Ninty gonna region lock this even with online play or is it gonna be worldwide multi-player.

I should have this next week so I will be able to see how the lag is against Japanese players.
