Jonnas Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Frigate Orpheon This appears in Metroid Prime. It’s the first spaceship Samus infiltrates. What you see in the background is the Parasite Queen. Th-the power went out?! For a spaceship that just causes trouble, it sure does have a lot of problems. But what really defines this stage is the way it rotates 180 degrees. The siren scream is a warning! Suddenly, it flips... ...and the terrain inverts! When the siren goes off, jump into the air to flee. But when you’re in a pinch, so is your opponent. Stall your opponent to take advantage! ---------------------------------- Mother: Porky's Theme Porky, the incarnation of egotism. The grand metropolis he created is a towering pinnacle of imagination. When Porky’s private army, the Pigmasks, appears, the song that often plays is this one! It’s one of the songs representative of Mother 3. ---------------------------------------- Finally, a Metroid Prime stage! I prefer the Chozo Temple, but I guess this is a start. At least they acknowledge the series. The Mother music is cool, too. I love it.
Zelda_Rulez Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Good to see them adding something from the Prime series, looks like a good stage. Hoping to see a Phendrana Drifts one as well.
Cube Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I'd be very disappointed if that was the only stage from the Prime series...It's one of the most dull locations in the games.
Hellfire Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I'd be very disappointed if that was the only stage from the Prime series...It's one of the most dull locations in the games. But it's one of the most emblematic, since it's the first boss. At least to me.
Shino Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Well, someone had to dislike one of the best starts in gaming ever.
Cube Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Well, someone had to dislike one of the best starts in gaming ever. I loved it. It's just not that great compared to every other level in the Prime series.
Dante Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Awesome Metroid Prime stage. Now hope for Ridley is playable as in prime series form than a super version.
Gatoman Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 EDIT: Shock, horror! Not only do we get two fairly decent updates today, one of them is a Metriod stage that is lava-free! Don't recognise the music from the update, as I've not played Mother 3. Pretty good, though, although to be honest, we haven't had a really catchy music update in a while. thanks!! finally someone answered me instead of "I am error", a tip of the hat to you sir
Hellfire Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Nice update I can see this item adding some strategy to team battles
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Yeah, cool idea. I'm just a little sad since they haven't moved on to more originality in colour schemes for teams, like for instance gold and black.
Jonnas Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Well, there goes my "Black team" wish. Now there's an item I'll be turning off most of the time. I don't usually play team battles (although that could change in Wi-fi). [speculation time] You know what would be awesome, though? Tag teams. Imagine if there were up to 4 "tag zones" (one for each team playing). If you want to make a tag, you must reach your team's zone. When you make the tag, your current character gets replaced by the other character in your team. That way, one player could play several characters. It could even allow some customization (want the team to share a damage meter like PT? Want each guy to have his own meter?). [/speculation time] Realistically speaking, the "tag zone" system would be very hard to implement fairly. I'm sure there could be some other system, though. It's a shame it won't happen. I love tag teams.

Zelda_Rulez Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Team Healer This item has absolutely no relevance for those who normally just play free-for-all brawls. But not knowing how to use the item would be problematic, so I’ll just explain it. You might be able to imagine what it is from its name... Before I get ahead of myself, I must explain that this game features a Team Battle mode. For example, this function allows people to break into teams of two and do battle when four people are playing. There are three team colours: red, green and blue. And the Team Healer has absolutely no function if you’re on your own. If you pick it up, you just hold it. It doesn’t do anything. But, if you throw it at your ally... ...your ally’s damage meter gets replenished! The higher your damage meter, the more you recover. But, if you don’t alert each other, you may not hit your team-mate. And occasionally, it may cause an opponent to recover damage instead...
It's an interesting item, you have to think before you throw it otherwise you're helping your opponent. I wonder if there are more Team items.
Jonnas Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Reminds me of Tekken Tag Tournament. That was a bloody awesome game. Exactly. It worked well in a traditional fighting game, but in Smash it would be much harder to implement a fair system. Too wrestling for you, Mr Jones xD Jones?
not_so_tiny Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Kirby's 'Inhale' move, nice, not really new but it's great to see the Kirby hats, no Sonic one though. Kirby as Snake is Amazing.
The-chosen-one Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 haha i think this one is the coolest (snake)
Zelda_Rulez Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Kirby: Special Moves The move that symbolises Kirby is none other than his standard special move, Inhale! He’s able to copy an enemy’s ability (by which I mean, their standard special move) and use it as his own. When he inhales a foe and swallows... ...he copies his opponent’s ability! So... Which look belongs to which character?
These are great, especially Snake's. It seems Kirby's B is still Inhale when he has DeDeDe's hat, but DeDeDe doesn't have the ability to copy others' powers. It could be a more powerful version of inhale then.
Jonnas Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 haha i think this one is the coolest (snake) Holy crap that pic is all kinds of awesome. I also love the Squirtle one, but damn, Snake Kirby wins.
Japjer Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Which character is the one with the nintendo cap?
Zelda_Rulez Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Which character is the one with the nintendo cap? Diddy Kong.
Hero-of-Time Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 That would be Diddy I think. Snake Kirby is pure win.
Kav Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 As awesome as Snake Kirby is... and it is AWESOME... I prefer Samus Kirby, a Varia Suit helmet jumping about is just too good!
welsh_gamer Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Snake Kirby is awesome. I bet a lot of players will choose to play as the underdog Kirby now Shame that his Mario impression hasn't got his moustache
