dan-likes-trees
The last photo is my best. I love the person in the shop doorway, loving life. Yeah! Procession went down through this village / town center, everyone came out of the shops and loved it. Such a great thing (apart from for those at the wedding who lived in the town, who cringed)

Frank
Oh! I found these nice effects for photography which appears to just be changing the contrast/brightness and all that. Makes anything look nice. Like my eye :p Are these effects supposed to be synonymous with being a hipster? I've seen them on Facebook a lot. I like it. Anyone in the know if these effects can be applied to videos? I will love if anyone could show me!! Edited July 25, 2011 by Frank
jayseven
Links don't work. Anything in an image tag has to end in .gif, .jpg, .png, etc. Those links you have - I can't rectify them as you need to be logged in/authed somewhere somehow. Go back to the image and rightclick -> copy image location and try again :P
Frank
Thanks Jay! I think they're working now .
nightwolf
You can apply them in after effects as far as I'm aware. You can also do that type of thing with something called toycolor, it's for mac, but I've got it on my pc too.
Tales
A mist covered sunset. Although it looks more like Jupiter above a nuclear eksplosion. I honestly thought it was Jupiter when I first saw it. I could see directly at it without being blinded, and I couldn't understand how in the world(or the universe...) the moon could be so big. So I concluded with Jupiter for about 3 seconds. The quality is better than it looks like, must be the mist.

Frank
Thank You Woolfy! I'll check that up now. I'm fond of this picture. No effects...no anything...just good timing and great lighting. Poser-ish but you get over it.
Twozzok
So yeah, these are just generic 'lol I got me some DOF' shots I've just because I'm sleep deprived and was hoping for a sunrise but so many clouds
dan-likes-trees
Yeah, I've always quite liked the hipstamatic thing. If everyone starts using it it'll grate fairly quickly, but there are some nice effects on it. Went to Southend-on-sea
nightwolf
I'm pretty jealous, I can't remember the last time I saw the sea.
Retro_Link
Great photo's Dan! Really love the first one especially, and the legs reflection. Do you say to your friend, 'can you just stand still while I photograph your hair blowing in the wind' or are you just quick with the camera! :p
dan-likes-trees
I'm pretty jealous, I can't remember the last time I saw the sea. Definitely recommend a day trip to the seaside, on one of the 4 sunny days of the year anyway! Great photo's Dan!Really love the first one especially, and the legs reflection. Do you say to your friend, 'can you just stand still while I photograph your hair blowing in the wind' or are you just quick with the camera! :p Thanks, and ha, a combination of the latter and having taken a horrifically large amount of photos that day I should think! The pier ones were pretty poser-y though ha.
Twozzok
Hipstamatic was fun at first, but it got boring for me after about a day. Right, I went to the woods the other day and took my camera. The rest: I think it was a mistake only using f1.8, some of the photos look...off somehow, not too sure how to describe it.

Why did you choose Southend-on-Sea?! What a craphole. Having to pay to get on that pier now, what a rip-off! Do you live nearby?

Nah live a while away ha... but I think it's more or less the closest bit of seaside to us nonethless. It wasn't so bad! Had a crappy charm to it. Beach was alright too. We were considering jumping off the pier, good thing we didn;t considering how quickly the tide went down. Yeah £3 for the pier was pretty outrageous... most of our group refused to pay for it ha. Ellmeister
The rides nearby are terrible as well. It really has gone downhill and I think just the 'reputation' is keeping it going because any new visitors soon realise what a mistake they've made. Some of your pictures have made it look a lot better than it really is so well done :p
