Bren Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 anyone else... not that assed about GoW? Sony has issued a statement criticizing its rival Microsoft's TV and movies announcement, arguing that it cuts out Core system users, who will not be able to store the content, thereby splitting the user-base. Microsoft's TV and movie downloads are available to owners of the higher-priced (and more popular) version of Xbox 360, but not to Core system owners who do not have a hard drive. A spokesperson for Sony offered, "PlayStation 3's content is designed for everyone to enjoy right out of the box, no matter which configuration you purchase. We would never segregate or shut out any of our consumers from our entertainment experience because they didn't buy the top of the line system. Both PlayStation 3 versions available on November 17 include hard drives for downloading content." NextGen This is another of sonys last ditch attempts to make the competiton seem inferior.. it wont work.. again.
Charlie Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Sony are obviously just pissed of that they didn't think of it themselves.
Guest Stefkov Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Lost Planet is looking amazingly good. That explosion looks sweet. Whats all this Lost10 and Lost06? AI players? I played the demo again and I dont know what to think of it. I'll need to play it more. Is there any online options for Lost Planet?
ZeldaFreak Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I reckon september 1st 2007 for europe for blue dragon
Tailzo Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I reckon september 1st 2007 for europe for blue dragon Hopefully either: A) It will release sooner - or - B) The US version will release sooner, and be compatible with PAL Xbox360's.
Charlie Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 1UP give Gears of War a bad review, but still give it a 10? Hmm. The multiplayer on it doesn't sound that good but the single player/co-op should be amazing. Anyone want to play through the co-op next Thursday if it gets sent out early?
Mikey Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Sounds like sour grapes to me. It's bull shit. Core users can easily go out and buy the extra equipment they need to get extra content.
Sooj Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Call of Duty 3 has been dispatched today from gameplay.com meaning I should get it tomorrow or thursday at the latest Also I would pre-order the HD DVD but the thing is, I need a HD-TV to take full advantage of it

Aimless Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 VG+ have confirmed the NTSC copies of GoW, CoD3, and Project 8 to be region free. Unfortunately those of you desperate for History Channel: Civil War are to be sorely disappointed. Curses! Oh, I forgot to mention that Play-Asia have the Asian version of CoD3 down as region free as well — GoW doesn't appear to have been checked yet. Half the UK retail price, so you can't really complain.

Now all I need is a 360:)

I'm up for a bit of GoW co-op I should hopefully be getting it either Tuesday or Wednesday next week depending on when G-Force decide to break the street date :P
Dante Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Certain Xbox Live subscribers got an e-mail today asking for their participation in a super long survey earlier today. Normally surveys like these are boring, there’s a reason certain companies pay you to fill them in, but this one was rather interesting. It asked participants how interested they were in certain first party accessories and Live features. Among the subjects was a web browser, a joystick specifically designed for Xbox Live Arcade games, a mini-keyboard you can plug into your controller for text messaging and a black ‘premium’ controller. Hit the jump for the most interesting excerpts. How interested would you be in buying an Xbox 360 branded mini-keyboard plug-in device for your controller to make text messaging and chat easier, assuming it would cost between $19-$29? Paying per song (~$0.99/song) to download music to your Xbox 360 hard drive from a music service. You would be able to use this service while playing a game. Paying a subscription per month (~$14.99/mo) to stream any and all music to your Xbox360 from a library of over 2 Million songs. You would be able to use this service while playing a game. Paying per video (~$19.99/movie, $1.99/TV show) to download standard definition full movies and TV shows to your Xbox360 hard drive Renting movies (~$3.99/movie) that are downloaded in standard definition to your Xbox 360 until you watch them and then are deleted Paying a subscription per month (~$5.99/mo) to access 10-20 internet radio stations streamed to your Xbox 360. You would be able to use this service while playing a game. How interested would you be in using an integrated Xbox 360 Web browser that would allow you to access and browse the Internet over your Xbox Live connection? How interested would you be in participating in beta tests for upcoming games if they cost an additional incremental fee? While these are all very interesting questions they still don’t guarantee that this stuff might actually happen. That said, Microsoft isn’t asking you about web browsers and ‘premium’ controllers because they’re bored and it’s safe to say that we’ll see at least one of these products if the demand is there. We removed the link to the survey since it may be linked to the person granting us the survey, and there seems to be an NDA attached to it right now which wasn’t there at first. It’s got usual Microsoft security though, allowing you to deeplink to later questions so recipients can access the information without consenting. xboxic
