DCK Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I hope it can profit from some Cube games that have been pushed to the Revolution, like Kirby Cube.
ShadowV7 Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Yeah I am pretty confident in the Launch for Rev. Hopefully they won't have huge gaps between releases. Yea Rev needs a good flow of releases and to sell a lot of units
Nintendork Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I don't think Revolution can handle this, it's been touted heavily and confirmed for PS3.. and even rumbled for the 360. But the only reason why people are saying it could be on Revolution is because of this which was released with the video: "Killing Day is a first-person shooter designed specifically for next-gen hardware. According to Ubisoft, the game will demonstrate new technological developments that make full use out of next-gen consoles." Just because it says consoles doesn't mean Revolution too, I'm thinking it's a PS3/360 exclusive. Taking it off folks, I think Red Steel could be a consolation prize.. I'm happy with it but I just don't think Revolution can handle such epic work.
myster0n Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Hi, I'm new here (thanks to the red steel thread). I just want to say that I hope nobody thinks that this killing day screenshot looks good. It might get point for technical achievement, but it looks like a collage. It doesn't matter if your engine can produce images that can't be distinguished from reality or that you're working with a mediocre engine. What makes graphics good is strong art direction. A powerful engine does make it easier to wow people, but apparently, looking at that screenshot, it's still possible to fail completely. But maybe that's just me.
DCK Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Welcome to the forums myster0n Most people here mean good graphics = good technical achievement, and it works in almost any case. Good graphics isn't the same as looking good, mind you. I personally don't Resident Evil 4 looks good in that sense, but it does have good graphics. I already think considering most games as artistic is pushing it a bit, but judging individual screenshots on their artisitical value is quite extreme.
The3rdChildren Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 20 games is great. How many of those will actually be good games though?
Retro_Link Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 A lot of them probablyAgreed! Mario - We know it will showcase the new systems capabilities, so at least it will be FUN!! Metroid Prime 3 - which should play even better than the first two with the new controls. Smash Bros. Revolution - As long as the control scheme works well (that's even IF they choose to implement 'Revmote' controls), this will be a system seller. Pikmin 3 - should play even better with the new controller. Wario Ware Revolution - May be short(?), but will be incredibly fun! Red Steel - Sounds FANTASTIC so far I could see myself buying all those games and probably more! Animal Crossing? Battalion Wars? Nintendogs? Pilotwings? I could go on with the other expected/rumoured launch games, but it's obvious that Nintendo's launch titles should be absolutely fantastic!! It's unlikely to be the case with all Third Party launch games (namely EA and all it's ports!), but if Third Parties put as much effort into their games as Ubisoft are doing with Red Steel, then nearly every launch game could be a potential buy!
Colin Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 These are the titles I believe Nintendo will have for the console on launch day:- New Super Mario Zelda: TP Waverace Super Smash Brothers Pennant Chase Baseball Mario Party/Warioware game (one of these will be there for launch) And then you can expect atleast one of them to be delayed by a few weeks. But I rekon from what we've seen so far (and past history) that these will be Nintendo's third of that 20. You're probably thinking why I've chucked Waverace in there..............well Nintendo have had a Waverace title available from day one of both the N64 and GameCube's launch, and I believe that the same will happen again. NSTC will again be handling it aswell, as they would have noway dedicated all of their resources over the last year to Metroid Prime Hunters. Also having a racer from Nintendo shows they are willing to cater for all audiences, which they like to do at console launches. I rekon it'll be playable at E3 aswell. I really don't think that the new Metroid Prime will be there on launch day..........although I would really love it to be. Just have doubts about that one though.
mario114 Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Theres 5 ones so far comfirmed as launch which are must have, thats £200 on games alone, better start saving up.
ShadowV7 Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I think MP3 will be a couple of weeks after if it's not there on launch day
Goron_3 Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Please Miyamato....give me a sequel to Luigis Mansion...Oh boy, the control system on that game would be so amazing!
Nintendork Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 20 games. 6 will totally blow. 14 will be 'meh' or better 8 of those will be "okay" or better 4 of those will be killer titles. Obviously based on individual opinion but I'm expecting the cards to fall like that. It might get point for technical achievement, but it looks like a collage.Welcome dude, i'm not entirely sure what you mean but this is a screenshot from 40 seconds of high definition real time in game play. It's totally legit and the guys blows the shit out of that marble statue and the glass. It's incredible.
Bluejay Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 20 games.6 will totally blow. 14 will be 'meh' or better 8 of those will be "okay" or better 4 of those will be killer titles. Sounds about right to me, maybe 2 90% titles, 2 more high 80s, and a further 4-6 low 80s. Anything lower won't interest me immedietly. Virtual Console is where I'll be using most of my coins, 1 or 2 launch titles will do me.
ShadowV7 Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I want 4 launch titles and a few from the Virtual Console.Games I will definently get is Red Steel and Smash Brothers and another 2 which I think are good and ALTTP and a couple of other games from the Virtual Console.Dam now i'm hyped up again

I know there are about 3 sources that say so(can't find them right now soz, im lookin though) and I know Big Tac confirmed it. Can anyone else help me find the sources thanx:bowdown:
Nintendo Fan Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I want 4 launch titles and a few from the Virtual Console.Games I will definently get is Red Steel and Smash Brothers and another 2 which I think are good and ALTTP and a couple of other games from the Virtual Console.Dam now i'm hyped up again That's the same with me games which im definently gonna get are Red Steel and Smash Brothers and two others. Considering that there will be 18 games to chose from apart from(Red Steel & Smash Brothers) its going to be pretty hard picking 2 more. If only i could get them all Lets just hope i find myself a really good summer job with high pay
myster0n Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Welcome dude, i'm not entirely sure what you mean but this is a screenshot from 40 seconds of high definition real time in game play. It's totally legit and the guys blows the shit out of that marble statue and the glass. It's incredible. I'm sure it's real, but something about this screenshot just looks wrong (the lighting?). But maybe that's just me ... Haven't seen the video yet though. On Topic : I don't think they'll do waverace this time. Seeing as the launch is predicted close to winter, maybe they'll do 1080 instead. After seeing the fake 1080 revolution video, it certainly got me thinking about it.
ShadowV7 Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Well it might be easier for me and probably others to pic another game because of what George Harrison has said about maybe bundling 2 controlers with the rev which means 1 thing. There will be some launch games with Duel Wield, which suit's me just fine.

A man who can see beyond polygon figures! That's really refreshing.... I agree mate (and welcome btw ). It looks like that weird art that used to be in the Myst stills. Lighting is horrible, purely horrible. And not everything in life is so SHINY. The image may be sharp but I don't care if it's gonna look like that. Well it might be easier for me and probably others to pic another game because of what George Harrison has said about maybe bundling 2 controlers with the rev which means 1 thing. There will be some launch games with Duel Wield, which suit's me just fine. #crosses fingers# SoulCalibur dual weild! Okay maybe not for launch but hey, I can dream. Cervantes with two controllers... drool
myster0n Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 #crosses fingers# SoulCalibur dual weild! Okay maybe not for launch but hey, I can dream. Cervantes with two controllers... drool Maybe they'll do Punch-out. A first-person boxing game would certainly work with 2 of those controllers. Just don't stand too close to your TV

Just don't stand too close to your TV Or a friend on multi-player ,then a real fight will brake out.Good thought though also Soul Caliber Duel Weild.....
Retro_Link Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 With Waverace launching with both the N64(?) and Gamecube, I can't see it being a launch title again. Excitebike (unlike Waverace and 1080), never got a Gamecube update, so I think we may see it on the Rev with twistable throttle! courtesy of the Revmote controller (and analogue stick to steer)!
ultrajamie Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 I reckon at launch... Mario Metroid PilotWings New Miyamoto Title ZELDA TP 3rd party A sonic title from Sega (or at least close to launch) Red Steel Loads of dodgey ports from EA and Activision. Oh... and WarioWare
