That survey is totally fudged up. Sony should be at the very bottom, especially after all the Rootkit controversy.

Nintendo however have nary a blemish on their company record, the only real thing being their censorship policies (Which were needed as there was no software regulation board) and their price fixing (Ok this one is true)

I might care about these specs if they were confirmed from Nintendo... why is everyone so quick to believe what Matt on IGN says.

Alot of people will care about the Revolutions graphics...but i don't!

You see, i'm actually more interested in the way the controller is going to be used then the graphics this time round.

The actual idea of holding a remote to control the game is very interesting and will most probably be so refreshing that the graphics are the last thing on my mind.

I'm hopefully going to get my mum to play on it as well. As the Revolution should be more accesible to people who don't normally play Computer Games!

As much as Nintendo surprise me sometimes (and often i disagree with their choices) i have to agree with em this time.

Nintendo said the graphics will look good though as well! So i'm not to worried anymore.

Haha, rubbish! I bet if they decided to make 2D only games you'd care. ;)

Seriously now, it's not as if the graphics are going to be N64-esque. We are going to get graphics superior to the Gamecube, which in my opinion has some fantastic looking games. All this talk about graphical worries is nonsense.

Well 2-D graphics is taking a too-big stepped back for my liking but seriously i wouldn't care that much. I love and i mean LOVE my 360 and it's superb graphics to bits but it doesn't make a game fun/playable does it?

I think i've seen the light!.....

If the graphics are of the standard of Res Evil 4, Metroid Prime and Wind Waker then I'm happy, if the standard is more than that then I'm... more than happy! haha!

Did you know that standard-graphics-cards have to store every texturelookup in their video-ram. Did you know that Nintendo got a patent which describes a looped-shader-pipeline that recycles the lookup before it goes back to ram and thereby transforms the texture(moving surfaces, bumpmapping-styled surfaces...all types of pixelshader-transformations...)

in one pass!!!! A standard-pipeline gets the texture out of ram, works it sends back to ram, storing it 2 times (for backup-issues), then through the bus back to the pipeline and the next transformation, back through bus to memory...=many passes.. see? this is only one optimisation...

and that there are no added-shaderfunctions like the IGN-bull..source suggests...wait why does he only suggest? if he got an dev-kit he should know lol..! ;(

There are shaders, the gc was the only console that had shader last gen, and ati is really a specialist in shader-technologie(looks much better then Nvidia-shaders) so the source is a total bullshitter who perhaps stole the paper about rev but doesn´t know anything in reallity...

See!

All this is the reason i wish people wouldn't just look at the clock speed and go... oh no it's barely better than xbox.

it will have beautiful games!

April fools yeah right. he posted that as genuine then his "source" came back and told him those specs were for an early dev kit then he thought ohh lets say it was an april fools.

WANKER!!!

Is this 'Matt' at IGN? because he seems to blow up and hype alot of stuff to do with the Revolution and nothing ever comes out of it!

So is it a confirmed April Fools joke?

yeah i really have a dislike for him. he is an irrisponsible journalist. someone should take hit out. get a contract on him.

at the end of the say it's his job to generate hits on a section of IGn that often doesn;t have a lot of new content to shout about day-by-day.

the ps3 section on ign is much the same.

Just wait... and if the simulation of a baseballgame is done well I would even play it with 256poligon-characters without textures (a 500k game downloadeble via VC for 2,99€)....check this in wifi-mode!!! And another time you´ll buy a 60€ adventure-game that is done sooo well, and truly stresses the hardware, then you have something for your eyes....

relax.....people...relax, everythings gonna be fine...really

I'm sorry but it is true. As much as it might seem to be contrary to itself (the items you mentioned) they are indeed xenophobic. I live in Hawaii and deal with japanese tourists on a daily basis, please don't tell me they are not xenophobic.

You're talking out of your arse.. Don't be sorry.. just don't talk to me unless you can muster up a counter argument.

Dealing with Japanese people doesn't make you an expert- you've completely dodged my argument that those brands are extremely popular in Japan despite being icons for America.

Has it not occured to you that the type of people who visit Hawaii are all the same kind of people, from the same demographic? the same kind of ideologies.

Those people don't represent an entire country. and to be honest if they're so xenophobic why are they outside of their own continent?

The spec's aren't an April Fools gag, but I have to laugh at the desperate fan boys who are clinging on to that one thread of hope that Matt's wrong. Like this: hahhaha.

This thing is about twice as powerful as a GameCube. If that's not powerful enough for someone, they need to have their fucking head checked. Resident Evil 4 x2? Twilight Princess x2? It's pathetic people still think that the Rev will be the powerhouse that is the PS3, but it's even more pathetic that they care.

GameCube x2 guys. Meaty stuff.

2x Gamecube is ridiculous. You can say 2X the polygon count and 2X the texture resolution is enough, I agree. But 2X AI, 2X physics, 2X lighting is not.

Is a PPU completely out of the question for Nintendo's Revolution? I don't want to rule it out, but at the same time I wouldn't hold my breath, either. Thing is, out of all three next generation consoles, Nintendo's may be best suited for a PPU. According to recently uncovered CPU and GPU specs, Nintendo has not opted for an excessively powerful new hardware. But the platform's free-hand style controller, which promises more precision than ever before, does seem to lend itself to some pottentially physics-heavy situations.

About six months ago, I happened to be standing with several people who are deeply involved in the games industry. One of these big development heads said to a fellow from Ageia, and this is a quote, "Rumor has it that you're supplying a PPU solution for Revolution." At the time I had no idea what the eff a PPU was, but I made a mental note to look into it. The Ageia rep on hand gave a very non-committal, but also non-denial anything-is-possible answer, and that was that. I haven't heard a damned thing on the subject since.

Which is frankly why I don't believe it's happening. I try to keep fairly up-to-date on the behind-the-scenes goings-on of Revolution, but not a single development studio has come forward with any talk of a PPU in the system. In fact, I've gone out of my way on several occasions to inquire about the possibility, but have only come back with CPU and GPU updates. In short, if there's a PPU in Revolution, Nintendo hasn't told any developers about it. And that pretty much says it all.

Cross your fingers people!

I'm not worried with lightning at all for example, AI could be considered secundary if you see it as... most games now could be online, meaning you'll have real oponents rather than playing against CPU, of course it's still important for single player but you get what I'm saying... that leaves Physics... the thing that could be really important for next gen... In realism and "motion" of next generation games... more than polygons with a PPU you could make clothing react to the wind with zero hit for the CPU, infact you could make pretty much everything in the game react to it... awesome isn't it?

that's what Revolution needed to ease my worries... although it's just like said... don't hold your breath for this one. Any chance of this being the third secret? I mean... with a PPu and 32 MB of dedicated RAM Revolution would be better in physics than a PS3 even... that would be a great plus because it is a very important feature for next generation consoles/games.

I never said I understood the logic behind it but I know from experiance that yes the japanese people are xenophobic. All I know is that they love american culture outside of electronics and the actual americans. The only electronic you mentioned was the ipod. Yes the Japanese picked up on it AFTER it become the defacto standard of MP3 players. Sony dropped the ball on the music market and left a void to be filled. Other than that I don't know of any non-japanese brand of electronic that holds decent marketshare in japan. Granted my experiance might not be a good representation of japan but it seems to be fairly in line with what I hear from others.

As for why they leave. Americans in the western states have a great distaste for mexicans, they also see mexico as a great vacation place. Again I don't understand it but thats how it is.
