Posted March 24, 2007 The best Batman film is clearly Batman Returns, anyway. Clearly! Michael Keaton, THE best Batman. Danny DeVito as the Penguin, Michelle "phwoar!" pheifer as Catwoman and also Christopher Walken. Hows that for a lineup. I love the setting, so gothic. Very Tim Burton. Despite the extremely boner inducing catwoman performance, I'm going to say that Begins is the best batman by some margin, unlike the burton movies it's actually about batman. Posted March 24, 2007 Toy Story Havent seen it in about 8 years. Oh my it was awesome. I 'got' two jokes in the film this time round, that I did not get when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure I enjoyed it but it was nothing like what I was expecting mainly because I reatrdily read the synopsis to Cronos instead of The Devils Backbone on the back of my Del Toro boxset. Posted March 25, 2007 Bande A Part Bizarre Jean-Luc Godard film. Based around the theory that "all you need to make a film is a girl and a gun". Really enjoyable film, works entirely on dream logic - like the narrator has been watching way so many Film Noir' flicks that they actually become incorporated into his dreams. Posted March 25, 2007 Casino Royale Got it on DVD yesterday and what I didn't notice in the cinema, during the first 30 minutes or something is more or less constant action and Bond talks very little, however, his character is very well shaped by his actions alone. I think the character of M was also fleshed out a bit more and the villian was brilliantly arrogant yet not super human (unlike in the last few films). I also really liked the dialogue, they're not very life-like in some situation but sharp and short as you'd expect of Bond. I also think Craig's voice reflects the character of Bond very well (I saw a dubbed version in cinema and that didn't fit). The soundtrack is also genius and the remixes of classic themes feels really good. Everything has a more realistic feel to it and especially the fight scenes look really great, you can see that they are trained in hand to hand combat instead of looking like they got their experience from fighting in pubs. 9.5/10 (only surpassed by Batman Begins :p) Flyboys I'm not sure I actually should rate that film as I only saw the first half but it bored me that much. The characters are cliched, the dialogue is uninspiring and boring. It tries to be a war film but fails to actually shock and air fights feel rather confusing and unrealistic as well. The writers better had played some Command and Conquer before so they actually knew something about warfare. What ultimately killed it for me was the Flak. The explosions only shook the planes instead of ripping parts off. And the same boring score got repeated all the time. If you don't feel the need to see James Franco in a lead role you can easily miss out on that one. stopped halfway through/10 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Posted March 28, 2007 Amelie- I've seen it loads of times before, but it still makes me feel all gooey inside. It's just so quirky, funny and beautifully filmed. I find myself falling for the character of Amelie constantly as well. One small complaint though is that I think the guy in it is a bit unrealistic. I think in real life, by the time he received the third note about meeting, followed by strange events he would be thinking "Oh bugger this". Anyway, I give it a full 9/10 and a thumbs up. Posted March 30, 2007 Fat Albert Just caught the majority of this on Sky Movies. Was really enjoyable but Kenan is a terrible voice actor, his voice kept slipping between Fat Albert and Kenan Rockmore. Was also a little soppy-soppy in places, but you expect that with these kinds of flicks.
