Jonnas Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Shinen must've been happy. They were about to secure a fast-paced racer for the launch of the Switch 2, at a time when people are still hungry for F-Zero. Things were looking up... as long as nobody rereleases F-Zero GX running at a crisp 60 FPS on a service that many players are already subscribed to. Poor unfortunate souls. But real talk, I hope F-Zero GX actually helps this game's sales. 2
Dcubed Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Nice to see Shinen back again. Shame it's going up against F-Zero GX Online/HD directly, but will be getting this one for sure regardless. 1 2
Julius Posted April 24 Author Posted April 24 £13.49/€14.99. They've also finally released the trailer: Looking forward to giving this a spin

V. Amoleo Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Fast RMX was such a good launch game. I will be 100% picking this up.

BowserBasher Posted April 24 Posted April 24 I may get this. I got RMX early on so this seems like a good cheap second game.
Julius Posted May 20 Author Posted May 20 (edited) Performance details for the game: Shinen have also confirmed that a free content update is already in the works: Good stuff! Edited May 20 by Julius 1
Dcubed Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Not mentioned is the fact that they’re working on a native 4K/60FPS mode and a 120FPS performance mode… https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2025/05/exclusive-fast-fusion-will-contain-12-tracks-free-content-update-confirmed Sounds like the game is coming in a bit hot to be honest… but still, can’t complain with getting these extra tracks and improved performance for free. 2
Julius Posted Thursday at 02:09 PM Author Posted Thursday at 02:09 PM Launch trailer: Announcer is Jack Merluzzi, the guy from F-Zero GX. This is still only listed as 3.5 GB on the eShop, which is kind of stunning given what they're delivering visually and technically! To those who played Fast RMX, what's the elevator pitch for the game? Is there a campaign/championship style mode, any way to "complete" the game and roll credits, etc.? I've been struggling to figure out what else I want to pick up at launch but this seems a worthy candidates, so any help is appreciated

I've been struggling to figure out what else I want to pick up at launch but this seems a worthy candidates, so any help is appreciated It's a traditional racing game in the same mould as F-Zero. Multiple cups with three difficulties. Four tracks per cup. Game is not quite as fast as F-Zero, but still plenty fast. The big gimmick that seperates the series from F-Zero is its Phase Switching mechanic, heavily inspired by Ikaruga. There are dash panels and magnetic rails and such that you have to switch between Black & White phases (Or, rather, Red & Blue ever since the previous game on Switch 1... huh huh, I see what they did there) to interact with; but your ability to switch is limited by the energy you have at your disposal (which is replenished by collecting the respective coloured icons on the track). This new game's big new mechanic is the ability to fuse cars together to combine their attributes/stats (hence the title). They're pretty good games. Certainly some of the better non-F-Zero futuristic racers out there; I certainly prefer it to the likes of Wipeout Edited Thursday at 02:30 PM by Dcubed 1
nekunando Posted Thursday at 03:51 PM Posted Thursday at 03:51 PM (edited) I wonder if F-Zero GX being there on the GameCube app on day one will kill interest in this game or if it will encourage people to pick up a brand new game in the genre. Personally, I can't wait to be able to play F-Zero GX on Switch 2 and give it (and Mario Kart World) all the attention they deserve. I don't think Fast Fusion would get a look in as a result! It's actually kinda the same with Street Fighter VI. It's one of the few launch games I may have been interested in but I want to properly get into Soul Calibur II instead! Yeah, it's very unfortunate timing here. Honestly, they might be better off just delaying the game and waiting until it's properly finished, with the missing tracks added and the true 4k/60FPS mode in place. Get out of F-Zero GX Online's blast radius.
