People are already getting pre-order invites???  Is there anywhere I can check all my eligibility?  Like I know my NSO expired for a day but I can't remember if it was last year or the year before.  I've checked about all the data sharing and that's all enabled.  No idea about my playtime or if that's over a specific period too?  Because the past 12 months or so it's not been used very much at all.

No, not directly. But if you got an e-mail from Nintendo like this;

Then I don't fancy your chances.
I've found that e-mail to be the one consistent thing amongst people who didn't get an invite.

I didn't get an invite or the email. I'm doomed.

Mario Kart World bundle up at EE - LINK.

Currys – apparently emails went out to those who registered interested, and are for in-store pick-ups only. Interesting approach.

Amazon - apparently the first wave of invites went out earlier this morning? I wouldn't know, as I didn't get one :p

Still just a Smyths pre-order so far for me without a backup, but got all my accessories and Mario Kart World pre-ordered with ShopTo in (forgot to add a case/screen protector to my earlier totting up, so grabbed one of those too!). Going to try my luck with the Nintendo Store when they open to the wider audience on Tuesday/Wednesday after the invite-onlys but from what I've read I seem to be in a decent enough position with Smyths as it is, so worst cast – I think I've got everything sorted? Other than the GCN NSO controller!

Shopto's SPRING code still works. Gives 5% off, I believe.

It worked on the Express SD card.

...was not aware of this, I'll be right back

EDIT: well, it shows the deduction, but then removes it when I go to checkout :blank:

EDIT 2: ah, okay, tested to see if paying now rather than delaying payment applied it and that worked – saved me a tenner. Got the money put aside anyway so that'll do me! You're a legend @Ike :peace:

Missed out on the ShopTo first batch of consoles.  I've been hearing it was a bit of RNG, with some people who registered early (like myself in January) missing out and some who registered a few weeks ago getting a chance.

However, i did get an order with Argos confirmed via email and text around 3:30pm yesterday afternoon.  I have heard that Argos have a tendancy to over order and not provide, so we'll see what happens here.  As a back-up, Amazon sent me an invite to pre-order which i confirmed earlier.

If i keep hearing about the horror stories from Argos, i'll cancel and go with Amazon.

Yeah, Argos done this with the PS5 Pro and certain special edition controllers. Many were left without and so I'd recommend trying to secure an order elsewhere.

Yeah, done that with Amazon already.  They offered me the Mario Kart bundle one, so even better.  It's locked in, and i'll probably cancel the Argos one later on.

Amazon can't delivery until 7th June, but if 2 days longer wait means i'll get one then so be it.

Ah, that was sneaky, I didn't notice they removed the discount if you pay on dispatch.

On the one hand, they got my PS5 to me on launch day. So that was great.

On the other, they advertised Royal Mail tracked delivery the entire pre-order period, before updating a bunch of orders (including my own) to Yodel (of all couriers) closer to release, and after pre-orders had been gone everywhere else for months.

So yeah, chance you'll get it at launch, but more than enough reason to be wary of them in my experience :peace:

Same as @Julius, on the one hand for me they were good when i ordered my PS5.  Ok, it was a brick n mortar store i ordered from, but it was still there for me.

And they shipped out a replacement DualSense when my launch model broke during COVID as i couldn't get to a store.

On the other, articles on Eurogamer in the past have highlighted their troubles with not fulfilling orders, not getting any Silent Hill orders (or even shipping with missing pre-order bonuses) and getting boxes of Zedeya figures over actual games or just getting 1 new copy of a game in.

Relevant to our US members looking to pre-order:

Not surprising really. While I’m sure there is a healthy profit margin they can eat into there’s no way it will cover the 50% tariff the things will be hit with. The pricing on these in the US is going to be insane.

FYI, no changes expected to the pre-order process in the UK – per Eurogamer.

That's not what I'm afraid of though...

I'm more afraid of the potential for region locking like what's happening in Japan...
