Dcubed Posted November 6 Author Posted November 6 Could’ve just announced this months ago instead of letting speculation run rampant, but there ya go!
Helmsly Posted November 6 Posted November 6 (edited) Switch 2 probably won't be revealed this year but this quote from Shuntaro Furukawa gives me a little hope that it might: Quote Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has told Japanese news site Mainichi he doesn’t believe that the “presence or absence of a successor will have much impact on customers who are purchasing [the Switch]. スイッチ後継機の詳細について古川社長は「25年3月期中に発表する方針に変更はない。これ以上のことをお伝えできない」と述べるにとどめた。後継機発表に伴う現行機の買い控えについては「全くないとは言い切れないが、スイッチは既に発売8年目。このタイミングで購入するお客様にとって後継機のありなしはそれほど影響すると思っていない」と述べた。 President Furukawa said about the details of the Nintendo Switch successor, "There is no change in the plan to announce it during the fiscal year ending March 2025. I can't say anything more than that." Regarding potential hesitation to purchase the current model due to the announcement of a successor, he added, "I can't say it doesn't exist at all, but the Switch is already in its eighth year since launch. I don't think the presence or absence of a successor will have much impact on customers who are purchasing it at this timing." Edited November 6 by Helmsly

Usually Nintendo are working on ideas for the next console as soon as the current one is released. So I’m sure, at this late a stage they have at least a fully working Super Switch 2 mega X64 ultra or whatever it’s called.

Jonnas Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Regardless of what Switch 2 turns out to be, I'm already happy. I've been using the Switch to build up a fair collection (to the point that I refused to buy cheaper alternatives on GOG or Steam), so it's nice that I'll be able to bring it forward. Really happy that this includes NSO as well. 3 1

Ashley Posted December 2 Posted December 2 I can't wait until we get to the day where everyone has access to a decent camera at all times so we don't have to rely on blurry low quality videos. 2
Julius Posted Thursday at 02:52 PM Posted Thursday at 02:52 PM Grain of salt and all that, but an accessory maker for the Switch has purportedly shared images of the Switch 2 in their case design. Seems to be in line with the other purported leaks we've had the last few months. 1
RedShell Posted Thursday at 05:59 PM Posted Thursday at 05:59 PM (edited) Hmm... This design is popping up in a lot of places I see. Can't say I'm happy about the possibility of Switch 2 being larger than the current Switch (which is already way too big to be considered a portable IMO) but I guess it was inevitable. Just like how the majority of people seem to want absolutely enormous mobile phones that can barely fit inside pockets for some reason. Edited Thursday at 06:00 PM by RedShell 3
MindFreak Posted Thursday at 06:57 PM Posted Thursday at 06:57 PM Yeah, the current Switch is big enough, just get rid of the bezels around the screen and perhaps give way to some slightly bigger JoyCons or grips. 1
