Julius Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Dragon Ball. Character design for Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, and many more. Truly one of the greats. RIP. 5
Dcubed Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 (edited) Bloody hell! So sudden and all, he was only 68! Supposedly it was a head injury that did him in, dang… … wonder what happens with Dragon Quest now? His company (Bird Studio) holds some of the rights to the series. The series has now lost its main composer AND character designer now. So sad… he was a true legend Edited March 8, 2024 by Dcubed
Glen-i Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Geez, that is categorically not news I wanted to wake up to. R.I.P to an absolutely legendary artist. The kind of art style that's immediately recognisable. I suddenly have the urge to play through Chrono Trigger again.
EEVILMURRAY Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 68?! You'd think the dude had been around forever
bob Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 I'd never heard of him, but that's quite the legacy he's leaving behind. It sounds like he died quite suddenly too. Probably one of the best ways to go at that age.
Jonnas Posted March 9, 2024 Posted March 9, 2024 Man, this one hit me like a brick. He was a living legend, but not one that had retired yet. He was still working on Dragon Quest, and a new Dragon Ball series, and there's a new game coming out based on one of his Manga, and... he was still quite prolific. And by all means, he had the best of reputations. You know how rare that is, with a career that long? By all means, a true treasure. This sucks Rest in Peace, Akira Toriyama.
