I'd be getting the PS3 version purely because both games are on one disc, buying the Vita version, only getting one game on the card and then having to download the other - on a console where storage space costs a premium! - feels really wrong to me. ::shrug:

Plus I've never played them so naturally I'd want to experience these titles on the big screen, but for others who have played them before and want the convenience of having them on the Vita I can still see why you'd go that route even if the setup seems a little odd. : peace:

Surely they could have just put the games on two game cards or I don't know... manufactured a larger card? Perhaps that'd not possible though but it just seems like Sony is trying to keep costs down on the Vita version to me.

PS3 version for me.

I honestly can't wait to play through this gem again. It won't have the same impact on me as it did all those years ago, due to me knowing how things will play out now, but getting to play it in HD will be fantastic.

It's a shame this arrives on the same day as Infamous: Second Sun.

Its been confirmed that the Vita version will be coming out on the same day as the PS3 version and that FFX HD will be on the game card while FFX-2 HD will be downloadable from the PS Store using a code that comes in the game box.

I still havent decided if im getting the PS3 or Vita versions.

Great to hear that the Vita version is coming out, even if one of the games is digital. I imagine it shouldn't take up too much space, but you never know.

I'll definitely be getting the Vita version; the PS3 is a last generation console that I'll probably be retiring in the next couple of years (after P5) and who knows how long my still-running PS3 will last. The fan can also be pretty offputting.

I really like the Vita though seeing as it offers portability and a really nice AMOLED screen. Just hope the Vita version runs well. I imagine it will.

PS3 for me as I don't have a Vita, but I would have chosen PS3 anyway.

Only ten days to Japanese release. Looking forward to see what the trophies will be like.

Had mine on preorder for a while. ShopTo seem to have raised the price since I ordered as well.

Its £23 something for me, its dropped from the £25 i ordered it at and then i get silver discount (vita version)

Any word on these coming to Steam?

HAHAHAHa knowing square enix (and considering we've only just got 7 and 8) i'd say before the 25th Anniversary of the games is a posibility :indeed:

Yeah same, somehow got a silver discount and ordered it before when it was cheaper (no idea how I got silver, I'm sure the purchase requirements used to be higher).

Got this today too. Thought about starting with my favourite of the two, and my first ever main FF game in fact, X-2, first, but I decided to play them in order. It's doubtful I will attempt to platinum X, but it's not out of the question yet.

Man, this is a game that should be platinumed. :p

Its very nature is one that must be fully completed. A completitionist's dream.

Fucking Thunder Plains jumping though.

I almost did it on PS2, as far as that game can considered platinumed. It took so long, possible up 200 hours, and because of that I'm not too interested doing all that grinding again. I failed to beat Penance though. It still bothers me that I couldn't do it after all that work. It's just all that grinding to get there all over again..

I recall that I got through the thunder mini game pretty easily by setting the tv on mute.

I bought this off Amazon last night. Never played it before.

This is probably a dumb question but they should be played in order, right (X and then X-2)?

I don't even remember the thunder mini game........

was it something about lightening strikes on a sort of rocky terrain? i really really fail to remember it, and thats the closest image i have of the game

AWESOME! I was going to suggest this to you, but wasn't sure if you were that into JRPGs.

Definitely start with X, since X-2 spoils what happens in X. Man, I would love to play this game for the first time again. Such great memories...hard to believe that was 12 years ago.

You had to dodge lightning consecutively something like 200 times to get a sigil for making Lulu's ultimate weapon.

I tried to play this on the PS2 once, I couldn't really dent it. I might pick up this to give it another go, did anyone who loved it find it to be a slow burner?

FFVII and IX remain some of my favourite games of all time, but I didn't feel that X was recapturing that feeling. I might dust off my PS2 copy to at least say where I was up to.

I think X was a massive step for Final Fantasy in terms of modernising it. Basically, IX was wonderful in so many ways (and ultimately I do prefer it) but FFX feels like a game that could be even made today. The level up system is immensely customisable and awesome (arguable my favourite ever in an RPG), the number and quality of sidequests feel epic, the 'humanising' of the characters by giving them voice actors and the close panning in on character interaction cutscenes made me feel more a part of the actual world...

Basically, I loved it. I never felt it was particularly slow, since tons was always happening. Characters interact in an endearing way and the story is overall engaging, to the extent that you actually give a fuck (unlike XII, where the characters rarely seemed to interact and the story was pretty bland).

Give it another chance. For just shy of £20 for both games it's an utter bargain.

Oooh, I envy you guys - What I loved most about FFX:

Besaid island Theme

Blitzball

The sphere grid

and Anima.

:) Enjoy.
