well i looked for smash football thread and couldn't find one so here go's. i got it for christmas but only started playing it monday. why did i wait so long??? it is the most entertaining game sinse MKDD. i love it i am hooked. this is how bad it is i had a choice last night between WoW and Smash and i chose Smash. that is nutz.

What do you guy think? what aspects do you love which do you hate? what could they have added?

A friend got it and I played a couple of matches in four player mode and it seems that everyone but me likes it. I don't mean it's a bad game, it's just not my type of game as I don't like sports games in general and I get confused by constantly changing characters. I find it also annoying that everyone (including me) is constantly hitting X and there's nothing to block or counter it. But I guess that's only me. :)

I personaly love this game... we have played many many hours of multiplayer and something diffrent can happen in each match.... also there is a way to block people attacking attacking Konfucius.

Its bound to be one of those games that you will either love of hate... i loved sega soccer slam so i knew what this game would be like and i was right, there both fun alternitive football games.

It is a fun game but only with human players. AI is not really a worty enemy for me anymore. I love to play human vs. human because if there are more than 2 players the game becomes unplayable because you don't have a big enough field or enough players.

there is? cool, could you tell me how to block it? I think my mate forgot to tell me this...

I think its Y when you have got the ball.... you do this sorta jump with the ball so that they miss you.

I really like this game and it is great when played with friends (even with 4 :D), but it's a small game in single player unfortunatelly. But is a good game overall.

Thing is though, is it really worth getting if you already have Sega Soccer Slam? I've heard they are practically the same game, and while I quite like SSS, I don't really want to buy it again in Mario colours. Does it have a different feel, for example?

i love that game despite one of my friends not liking it (yes, it's konfucius :P). i really can't understand him. i beat the game in 1 day (okay, it's not a long time motivator) but i still like a good match now and then, especially when it's with friends, the more, the better!

i don't know the feeling of sega soccer slam, but i'm now excited and want to play it ;) (though i don't think it can be better than strikers)

Yeah, this needs a thread.

Ive got it but havent completed the single player yet (due to Baten Kaitos and all) I had some four player on it on Monday after Pro Evo 5 at my mates, it was him and this other guy and my girl and I... Id expected only me and my friend to enjoy it but the other guy liked it (I thought it'd be to far a departure from Prevo for him) and my girl got a bit of the hang of it in the second game. A great blast!

The downfalls would be the single players too short and maybe the controls are too simple? Its full of charm and I can see this being maybe a firm fave once or twice in the summer but really getting lotsa play when we get back to Uni after that!

Buy it while you can!

one of my friends got it for his birthday so me and a couple of other people played it a bit the game itself is quite addictive but just not very good the single player is pretty poor while the multiplayer is only good if you have even numbers otherwise its one sided. the game feels rushed the on pitch graphics are nice but if you look at the crowd they are most terrible all in all its a jazzed or nintendo'ed up version of fifa street. 6/10

I had my first taste of 4 player multi player last night and it was amazing. we started playing at 6 and we finnally called it quits at midnight.

As it was my game i was kicking ass to start. it was a 3 mates and myself. 1 mate owns a cube so he is what i would call a regular gamer as am i. not "hard core". the other 2 are what i would call strict non-gamers. they were having problems just with the explanation of the buttons. so we eased them into it. they started to get the hang of it so we set up a custom cup. it was league format. by the end of that i finished top but the surprise was the one person who was the most non-gamer pushed me all the way and it came down to the final game i was winning 5-4 and he was piling on the pressure then in the last second he unleashed a strike that went in but it went in just after the buzzer and didn't count.

the noise was amazing with all of us shouting and cheering. these guys were absolutly loving it.

the point of the story? these guys were amature at best and that is kind. and this game hooked them. now if nintendo can do that with the cube what can they do with the rev?

if there is anyone doubting whether or not to buy this game i would say if you want a great multiplayer game you have to buy this the pace can be frantic the action non stop and you will get other people who dont even like "gaming" on this.

Played at least an hour on this last night with some friends, and I have to say it's pretty damned good. The character artwork in the manual is also awesome, but we all know that already. The bruiser attack is a little bit annoying, and so are the power shots, but once you have the basics down this is a very playable game.

Mario Baseball, however, remains quite annoying.

I got this game along with Mario Baseball at Christmas, expecting to love Baseball, but wasn't really sure what to expect from Smash Football, thinking that I'd prefer to carry on playing Winning Eleven instead.

Oh how wrong I was! I've hardly played Mario Baseball, whereas Smash Football has barely left my Cube. My wife and I both love it, as do the kids, including my 5 year old daughter! We've had many 4 player games and can't get enough.

The only thing I'm not too keen on is the Bowser Attack, but at least you can turn it off.

I might be getting it this weekend!!!....YAY!!.....I'm not sure yet though, I'm only buying about 1 game a month now so I can get stuff for my bass and so I can go on holiday in summer.
