Serebii Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 (edited) Well, this is currently unconfirmed but is listed on a Japanese blog that continuously leaks the contents of Weekly Famitsu the day before release. In tomorrow's issue, apparently it reveals the game Pokémon Tretta Lab For 3DS. This is a simple 3DS app and comes with a peripheral that allows for scanning of the pucks from the Pokémon Tretta arcade game and used in some manner on the 3DS. It seems that this is just simply a companion app, on par with Pokémon Card Game: How to Play DS as it costs 3800 Yen including the peripheral Labelling as unconfirmed for now, but this follows on from hints in CoroCoro last month. Jonnas Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Fun fact: "Treta" means "Bullshit" in Portuguese. Carry on
Ike Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 In other words it's Pokemon: Not Released Anywhere Outside Japan?

They go out of their way to make a TCG engine for the DS, but don't end up doing anything with it other than making a simple tutorial for how to play the Pokemon TCG! Come on Nintendo! Give us a proper PKMN TCG RPG for 3DS! For godsake, you can make them compatible with real TCG cards via AR! (And hell! You now have all of the original game's developers directly under your wing at NDCube! MAKE IT HAPPEN ALREADY!!)
Ashley Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Fun fact: "Treta" means "Bullshit" in Portuguese. Carry on Well Nintendo sent out an email about "Pokémon DP" the other day. I feared it was NSFW so I didn't open it.

Dcubed Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 You really hate me, don't you Do you know how hard that'd be for me to cover???? It comes with the territory Edit: HOLY COW! That makes the Circle Pad Pro look beautiful by comparison!
Serebii Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 (edited) Screenshots The main game is called Pokémon Tretta Lab Main System and is packaged as a download code for the eShop in the package. The game has three modes. First is the Tretta Analyzer. This mode shows you the Pokémon from the Tretta puck scanned in, its type and stats. Second is the Type Checker. This allows you to compare two Pokémon and see if the type combination matches up. Third mode is Auto Battle where you scan in two Tretta pucks and it will automatically show them battle, or you can go through several scenarios. The game, shipping on August 10th, is a digital download game distributed via a code is shipped with the scanner, a base for 3DS and 3DS XL, and three Pokémon Tretta pucks: Eevee, Mewtwo & Lucario with a Pichu puck as a pre-order bonus. @Debug Mode should get a kick out of this :p Edited May 9, 2013 by Serebii Automerged Doublepost
Debug Mode Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 ...what the hell is a Tretta? They are basically little pucks which presumably have an RFID chip inside that you place on the bottom, upwards facing screen on the arcade machine that summons the Pokemon into battle. If you catch a Pokemon in the game, it dispenses a Tretta for that Pokemon. I only really want this because of that crazy as fuck looking attachment, but it's out just 11 days after I leave! D: Shit sucks.. I'm yet to play Tretta myself, I think I get more amusement watching the little kids smack the absolute shit out of all the machines in the Pokemon Centre. It caught me off guard when I first went, I wonder how machines have been broken thus far.

Debug Mode Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I'm presuming you have a good collection of the pucks? I think I may have to give the game a go at some point before I return, it looks pretty fun and you can play with rentals at first so no biggy. But there are hobby stores that sell randomly hand-made packs of the Tretta's for 100 yen.

Could work wonders for a 3DS title.
Retro_Link Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 The fuck!!... Are we back in the 80's?!!... Wahoo!!
Ashley Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Nintendo really don't know how to make 3DS add-ons... Fun fact: "Treta" means "Bullshit" in Portuguese. Carry on And "Sega" means masturbation in Italian. I know your post was ages ago, but I recently remembered the above fact.
James McGeachie Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Nintendo are obsessed with wasting plastic aren't they?

Ashley Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 But surely they'd at least sign-off on any kind of peripheral, particularly for a brand that they cherish.
Jonnas Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 And "Sega" means masturbation in Italian. I know your post was ages ago, but I recently remembered the above fact. In Portuguese, "Cega" means "Blind", and it's pronounced the same as the brand. As a kid, I thought those who made the consoles just didn't know how to write properly.
