I just did a sex wee!

DRIVECLUB BIKES announced at Paris Games Week, available now on PS Store!

Evolution Studios breaks out the superbikes in new standalone game

Keeping our superbike obsession a secret has been really hard! Normally we prefer to keep you up to speed with how DRIVECLUB is always evolving around you, but we also like to surprise you every now and then too. When better to do that than during one of the biggest games shows in the world!?

We’ve been pouring our hearts into the ongoing development of DRIVECLUB over the past year and BIKES is a standalone expansion to the DRIVECLUB universe. Before I go into the details though let’s first check out the new trailer shown at Paris Games Week:

We’re massive racing fans at Evolution and we love the challenge and the thrill of superbike racing, but we’ve always wanted to make them more approachable and fun, whilst still retaining the depth of control and authenticity you’d expect from us. With DRIVECLUB BIKES we think we’ve accomplished that, so that everyone can enjoy riding these breath-taking superbikes.

The incredible speed and superb agility of high-performance superbikes offers a completely new way to race, and as always with DRIVECLUB, there’s a lot to play for, whether you ride offline or online with your club.

12 of the world’s best superbikes: Featuring bikes from top manufacturers including Yamaha, Ducati, Kawasaki, Honda, BMW and more.

Full BIKES Tour campaign: We’ve designed a new game mode and loads of events to help you get to grips with bikes and ultimately challenge you to master every superbike in the game.

Unlimited Challenges: Create and compete in new challenges to show off and test your speed, agility and skills with bikes.

Personalised events: Create your own events on any track, in any mode, at any time and with near limitless weather conditions.

Multiplayer racing: Take advantage of the extra space on every track with opportunities to overtake on every corner in heated wheel to wheel action.

Customisation: Personalize your bikes and your rider, including paint jobs, rider leathers and custom helmets.

Clubs: Everything you do in DRIVECLUB BIKES contributes to the success of your Club, unlocking new rewards, accolades, customisation and challenges.

There’s a lot to play for and there’s even a second Platinum Trophy to chase down, which means that DRIVECLUB now features more trophies to unlock than any other PlayStation game in history!

We’ll have more news on the upcoming updates next week but in the meantime come ride with us! You can buy DRIVECLUB BIKES starting today from PlayStation Store as a standalone game for £14.99/€19.99. If you’re already a DRIVECLUB member, you can add on DRIVECLUB BIKES at a discount for £12.99/€14.99.

We can’t wait to see your #PS4share Photo Mode pics of DRIVECLUB BIKES! Check out the very first pics from some of the most prolific DRIVECLUB photomode players who have got their hands on the game already.

*EDIT*

Loving the bikes they handle great!

Here's a wee video I cooked up!

Go to say the bike handling is on point, it's hard but once you get used to it and your hitting apex after apex there is great satisfaction to be had.

Can you not even have a go with a bike without splashing out the cash? They should put one in the PS+ version as a demo.

Eh... there's just twelve 1l supersports? Meh, come back to me when there's some 600cc sport or naked bikes. Can't even find a list of the bikes....

I played a bit of this last night. Whereas I feel PGR nails the feel of the cars more and kind of didn't really manage to with the bikes, it's the other way around with Drive Club; I still think the cars need to be a tad more arcadey but the bikes are awesome.

Hmm, I dunno if I'd agree there. I love the handling of the cars in DriveClub. It has a very steep learning curve and is hard as fuck, though. I spend most of my time crashing into corners, especially if I haven't played in a while. After a few hours, once you become more in tune with each car, it's much more fluid.

I'd much rather have new tracks as I don't really give a shit about bikes. This game badly needs new tracks.

I'm slightly pissed about this whole bike nonsense... I bought the game+season pass around 2 weeks ago because gaf convinced me any future content would be worth it judging by past history. I get that this is a standalone expansion and not just DLC, but I still feel a bit cheated. -.-'

How do you feel cheated? did the season pass not give you enough content?

Have Evolution not added loads of patches, updates and free stuff for you?

Free bike stuff coming on November 17th

I'd hardly feel cheated - I'd feel more cheated paying £100 for Destiny and it's DLC which a lot of people on here have.

But hey, what do I know?

About the bold parts... Did you read the part where I've had the game for 2 weeks? How am I supposed to know?

I feel cheated because "Season Pass" implies I'll have access to all future content. It's as simple as that. I mean, sure, the full game+season pass was only £16 altogether and I got a great bargain, but Bikes is still being marketed as an expansion and as such should be free for season pass owners... there's been quite a few people posting on gaf complaining that they bought the season pass specifically because they thought they'd have access to bikes and figured they might as well get the season pass for the same price and get more stuff.

All in all, I'm fine with it because I will gladly pay the £13, I was just surprised and ethically disappointed in the industry, yet again.

*Sighs* ok here we go...

Er um - Google perhaps you've heard of it? That's why I assumed you'd know. Also the new patch today is 1.24 that means 23 patches prior to this one.

Season pass implies you are eligible to all future content?

It's not "as simple as that" - it's as simple as this (you sure you've not heard of Google? Oh and I've bolded dates so you don't miss them.

From Playstation Blog 10th September 2014

We’ll also keep adding more of the world’s best cars to the game and we’ll give you one car every month, as a free series running from October 2014 to June 2015.

For those who want even more, we’re making a full calendar of new release DLC that will run deep into 2015. This will let you buy packs of new cars and new campaign tour expansions, to give you more to play for each month. This calendar will start in November 2014 with every pack offering new challenges to play and new trophies for you to earn.

Evolution studios actually gave away some of the season pass events free and then added and extended the season pass due to the network issues they had when the game launched.

Your not wrong there!

Clearly people on Neogaf haven't heard of Google either.

Glad surprised and disappointed that's some major mood swings.

Please take a slice (I hope your not ethically disappointed with it).

Thanks. You've both made me a better person and validated yourself further in one fell swoop. Outstanding.

You're coming across a right plonker, pal. Totally uncalled for attitude.

Your welcome, I was multitasking.

Fair enough I'll reign it in.

So is that a yes/no from you both for N-europe Drive club race nights?

So who's interested in a Driveclub League?

Hmmm I wonder if @lostmario would be interested in helping organising things since he's had experience of this with Mario Kart?

I've give advice but after the Mario Kart League I'm having a little break from organising leagues and such.

Changing subject, how much would the season pass cost me for driveclub?

Thinking of picking it up to get me through December if I don't get Battlefront

from Neogaf

DRIVECLUB PS+ Edition stealth update - All post-launch free stuff available now #1

If you have already downloaded the PS+ edition, you can now download all the free content released since launch, including the ignition expansion pack. You don't need the full game to enjoy them.

You should be able to go to the store, search DRIVECLUB and filter by "free" to download. I have the the full version, so haven't been able to verify it myself. Can someone confirm this works? To be clear, this is only for the free content and not the paid season pass content. Thanks!

EDIT:

Seems like it's US store only at the moment? Will update as I get more info.

EDIT 2: Ignore the obsolete text on the store. You should still be able to download and play regardless. The change is in effect worldwide :)

decisions........decisions........

Free DLC for both cars and bikes went up on Tuesday.

The cars dlc is really easy as it's to give non season pass holder a taste of some of the content on offer (easy trophies!)

Very little interest in Driveclub Race nights it seems - disappointing :(

Just me and you (at the moment). Wouldn't be much of a race/league tbf
