It's a racing game. What more did you expect?

I'm not sure, for everyone to be fisting it, I was expecting something. Something that would stop it looking boring beyond belief...

But s'just me :)

u wot m4x2?

It's a racing game but a very dynamic one at that.

Try a race in Norway, starting at 3pm with the time setting on 60x and with the weather set to dynamic and call it boring. The race will go from daylight to night with the weather alternating between dry, light snow, medium snow and heavy snow.

If you set enough laps or if the race is particularly long enough (setting it to 10 laps is awesome) it'll even go back to daylight/morning time/dawn.

It's fucking awesome. All the while, you'll have drift challenges and speed challenges where you try to best either your friend's scores or that of randomers. It's probably the best racing game out there, imo.

It does seem everyone is loving the rapid change in weather. How is it without the weather set to dynamic?

I have loved the racing itself without the weather. It's got excellent handling and just great fun to play. The world doesn't need open world racers.

It's a brilliant arcadey/sim hybrid with beautiful graphics regardless of the weather which encourages you to push each vehicle to its absolute limit. It's fast with top notch handling fantastic sound and in depth social connectivity. It's on my personal shortlist for GOTY but what do I know eh?

Pretty much what Sexual said, it's still a good game without all of the weather and time stuff.

There's a great sense of speed to the game and each car handles differently to the next. I love the sense of achievement you feel where you find a new car and then persevere with it until you fully understand how it drives. Then, you're pushing it to its limits and can get the most out of it. There's a sense of achievement to the game. When you get a great time or you beat one of somebody's challenges, you know that you earned it.

It's a hard game, mind. Unforgiving at times, but I think the balance between its difficulty, its playability and its sense of fun is just spot on.

Picked this up a couple of days ago as I saw it for £20 and thought why not as I've been wanting a racing game to just sit down and play in my free time (and Need for Speed: Rivals seems to be going for more than this for some reason whenever I look) and while it's obviously a little more sim, as opposed to arcade-y, I've still really enjoyed what I've played so far. Still trying to get used to the handling of the cars as they do feel like they've got some real weight to them when cornering so while I've managed to get through quite a few events in the single player, there are some where I've not managed to get the starts for the top lap time as I'm still trying to get used to the cornering and when best to lift off/brake and accelerate on.

Still, game looks great and plays well. Driver AI is a bit crappy and I seem to be getting penalised for them driving into the back of me quite a lot in the breaking zones (I thought this got patched out) but hopefully the intermittent patch for this will improve this aspect.

Should be around at some point in the new year for some online-ings. My free time is rather sparse but yeah if people are wanting/doing online races then I'll see when I have time free for things going forward and let people know.

Had an hour on this yesterday, discovered how much i suck at drifting. It's just this that is preventing me from progressing through the DLC tour modes. Needs more practice i think.

Visuals in this game are something else, I can't get my head around just how real it can look at times. :awesome:

Can someone point me to the updated season pass content and what we're getting for free?

Wasn't Japan part of the season pass?

Anyone else think Sony are going to make this a F2P game?
