Nothing is sacred, especially not when it comes to humour.

Anyway, if I'm to become serious for a moment, continuing off what Mokong said, situations like this do make one step back and ponder why we make heroes out of famous people. By all means we should celebrate their talents and accomplishments, but we sometimes seem to forget that they're human just like us, and sometimes even rather poor specimens.

It's the constant visibility in the media, "hey look at what this guy did, he's soooo awesome". Constantly followed and talked about, they turn into characters, be it positive or negative. Hence why you get idolisation → unrealistic expectations just growing even more.

Oh, yes, of course. It was more of a rhetorical question. :heh:

Oscar Pistorius case: bloodied cricket bat is key evidence, paper claims

The plot thickens.

The well-respected City Press newspaper reported that a cricket bat covered in blood was found at Pistorius's home and is the central piece of evidence against him. Citing sources close to the investigation, the paper said Steenkamp's skull was crushed and police requested Pistorius undergo drug tests.

City Press also reported that Pistorius called his father soon after 3.20am on Thursday and asked him to come to the house. When the family arrived, Pistorius was allegedly carrying Steenkamp down the stairs, her head and arms "dangling".

If he's guilty, which he probably is, his crying has been pretty prosthetic.

see now it makes sense

neighbours hear row

he goes ape beats her with bat, she runs to bathroom, locks door

he follows can't get in, comes back with gun, tries to shoot door open and scare her

kills her

finds her

calls dad

calls friend (revealed he called friend first)

calls emergency services and claims the "intruder story"

or he could have just beat her then when she was dead panicked and shot the body

but i can't see away this all adds up to legless man accidentally kills girlfriend believing she's an intruder

Shame on a lot of people on this topic. Making a mockery of a very serious situation. A woman has been murdered. Shot in the head, possibly had her head caved in with a cricket bat and a stunning woman dead at 29. This is someones daughter and sister. Would you make jokes if it was your sister, mother or friend?

Good job soldier, that positive member 2013 trophy is coming along nicely.

Not sure if this has been posted already, so apologies if it's a repost.

The detective leading the Oscar Pistorius enquiry is himself facing 7 charges of attempted murder.

Why am I getting the feeling that this case is going to go tits up?

Charges were dropped against the officer in 2011, this really looks like Pistorious paying a lot of money to defame the detective.

From the article: "Mr Malila said the charges against Det Botha had originally been dropped but were reinstated."

::shrug:

It could be new evidence against the officer, or something else. Wonder how exactly this will affect the case. Certainly the credibility of the officer in question. Could be Pistorius paying a lot of money to do this, could be genuine.
