That seems... a little too far in the direction of wholesome and fun to me. Hoping it's just a throwaway sequence.

Nah Krypto is going to be there to grab people by the paws and in the style of Christian Bale's Batman...

I thought that as well at first but after so many years of darker depictions of these characters I'm kind of interested to see where they go with this now.

Yeah, I agree. I think this shot and Krypto's involvement immediately conveys just how much lighter they want to go this time around, and I feel like it's been a long, long time since we've had something lighter and more hopeful in a big budget blockbuster superhero film.

I know MCU stuff can be lighter, in a sense, but I also think their approach to that in particular since Endgame has been a bit stale, as they've started going a bit too far at times with how quickly they jump to undermine darker moments with quips, which should be used to contrast and strengthen those lighter momentsΒ ::shrug:

Trust me, I want bright and cheerful. I was hopeful for the first half of MoS and it was all completely downhill from there for me. I just feel like Krypto is a bit silly for the big screen. But I'm hopeful to be proven wrong.

Is the entire film going to be shot in portrait?

Lol yep I had the exact same reaction. I need to pause it on Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner as well as that looked a bit too comic accurate and cheesy on the flash we saw.

It's, uh...it's something, I'll tell yaΒ

Solid trailer, surprised by the decision to show off so many other characters and not just focus on Supes being back and potentially teasing Lex, they just put it all out there. Probably the right move seeing as this is the tentpole start to the new universe? But it felt a little incoherent and like there wasn't a clear throughline.Β

Lacked any sort of climax for me as a trailer, also runs long for a "teaser trailer", but I am a good enough mix of curious and excited to see something new from DC. I'd score the trailer itself like a 7/7.5.Β

Had to do the same. Interesting decision to go with such an accurate haircut for Guy and yet go blonde over red (which I imagine is how most people have seen Guy), it's not a big deal at all, but I'm curious what the idea behind that was.Β

I had no idea Nicholas Hoult was playing Lex Luther. Interesting casting choice - i'm curious as to how he plays it.

Loads of stuff going on in that trailer. Doesn't feel like a superman movie - not bland enough! Hopefully that means it's good.

I think its a promising start and has me more hopeful for Superman than the DCEU did, despite liking Henry Cavill. I do think they've added too many characters, feels like they're falling into the same trap of trying to build a Marvel style universe too quickly again but we'll see how it turns out.

There's something very....late Arrowverse about that trailer, especially with the costumes/designs of the additional characters.Β

So Clark is inspired by Frodo and Superman is inspired by Kelvin McCoy. Meanwhile, Luthor is a mix of Shinzon of Remus and Agent 47.

Oh that's who it was thanks. I was thinking "who is that..." But never bothered looking it up.Β

Once again you saved the day.Β
