Happenstance Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Yeah I had been hearing a lot of good things about Hawkeye but just never got around to reading it.
ReZourceman Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Yeah my Hawkeye TPB just arrived from eBay too (after it was on order at Amazon for like a month and delivery estimate just kept changing daily...) Â Read the first page and loved it. Â Will comment on the previous page discussion sooooon.

Will comment on the previous page discussion sooooon.  Now you've got me worried about my order! I ordered the others through Amazon as well so I'll stay positive.
ReZourceman Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Now you've got me worried about my order! I ordered the others through Amazon as well so I'll stay positive. Â It was only Hawkeye that I had a problem with. I ordered The Boys too, and that came as expected. I checked Hawkeye twice (once about a week after ordering, and once two weeks) and both times it was still the exact same delivery estimate, but pushed one week and two weeks, i.e., it looked like; Â April 20th - Delivery estimate May 10th. April 27th - Delivery estimate May 17th. May 3rd - Delivery estimate May 23rd. Â Is your delivery estimate about two weeks away? If not, maybe they simply have it in stock now.
Happenstance Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 My delivery estimate is next Thursday and I went for free p&p so that sounds about right. Â Need to decide what to get next. Im tempted to go for some classic Avengers stuff like the Kree Skrull War or Kovac Saga.
gmac Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I think it's been a pretty popular trade so Amazon may have just not had stock when you ordered. Amazon seem not to want to put up an out of stock sign and just keep taking orders.

Amazon seem not to want to put up an out of stock sign and just keep taking orders. Â I think they also tend to put up that warning that they only have so many copies left when its not true. Ive ordered the last one available of something before and gone back not long after and theyve set it to a higher amount left now.
Guy Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 It's free comic book day today, so head on down to your local stores to be handed a bag full of random unsold back issues.
Ashley Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I tried to go to one in Birmingham, as I was passing through at a ridiculous time, but they were holding back the opening to build a bigger queue for photos. I British rage quitted swiftly.

Happenstance Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I'm starting to think my obession with ordering trades has come back....cant think why. Â ...Just ordered these Â
V. Amoleo Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Has anybody got a subscription to Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited? If so, how is it? Â Currently I buy my comics using Comixology but it's getting expensive to read entire 'events' such as World War Hulk or Civil War.
Ashley Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 The first animated Disney film based on a Marvel franchise has been announced as Big Hero 6. Â I have no idea what this is...but looks pretty. Â
Jonnas Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Apparently, it's about a group made of 6 Japanese superheroes. It includes Silver Samurai and an X-Man called Sunfire. Â Huh, colour me interested. Glad to see they're tackling a more obscure side of Marvel.
Happenstance Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Has anybody got a subscription to Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited? If so, how is it? Currently I buy my comics using Comixology but it's getting expensive to read entire 'events' such as World War Hulk or Civil War.  I downloaded the app the other day and tested out one of the free comics. It didnt seem as smooth as the Comixology app and when you turn the device sometimes it resizes wrong so its too small. Its probably one I will leave until Ive heard steps have been taken.    Not holding out much hope here but has anyone got/read or even skimmed through in a shop the Marvel John Romita Jr artbook? Ive read mixed reviews on it as to the quality and effort put into the book but I do love JRJRs art and its on sale at the moment so I was thinking about getting it.
V. Amoleo Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Has anybody got a subscription to Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited? If so, how is it? Â I went ahead and bought a subscription to Marvel Unlimited. Â First and foremost, I'm really enjoying it. I love being able to go back to some of the older storylines. Â BUT Â For some reason the double page spreads have been stored at the same resolution as single pages. This means that, while you can see the two pages together, it's impossible to read the text. Â Also, there are weird gaps in the available comics. For example, the 1999 Inhumans series is complete except for issue 3 and 5. Why?! Â As far as the app goes, I'm pretty happy with it. The panel view is better on the Comixology app but I rarely used it when I was on the iPad anyway. You do have to let the app complete what it's doing and this isn't always obvious. The only indication is the loading circle in the iOS status bar. Additionally you can only store 6 comics for offline viewing. This hasn't been an issue for me though.
Dante Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 DC Comics August Solicitations  52 turns 45 with Dial H,Demon Knights, Threshold & Legion Of Superheroes ending in August.
Happenstance Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Just read Green Lantern #20 Â I never really thought much of this first Lantern storyline, for me it just never went anywhere and the character was pretty dull. Im mostly interested in the ending, which I thought was a weird choice. By explaining what happened to all the characters afterwards theyve made sure that writers from now on will have to hit these points and it just limits what they will be allowed to do. I dont think it was needed at all. Â
Happenstance Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Trailer for Flashpoint Paradox   I wonder if this bring about the new 52 in the animated universe...kind of hoping it doesnt.
Dante Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 The comic topic sure has died on here.  DC September is villains month which look like to have 4x issues in the same month ie  BATMAN #23.1: THE JOKER BATMAN #23.2: THE RIDDLER BATMAN #23.3: THE PENGUIN BATMAN #23.4: BANE   DETECTIVE COMICS #23.1: POISON IVY DETECTIVE COMICS #23.2: HARLEY QUINN DETECTIVE COMICS #23.3: THE SCARECROW DETECTIVE COMICS #23.4: MAN-BAT
ReZourceman Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 I'm still 3 months or so behind or so unfortunately (not my own fault). Â Will catch up soon and do a big post. Â Considering cancelling everything apart from Aquaman, Batman and Image.
gmac Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 well I'm only 2 weeks behind, but am considering dropping most of Marvel and DC stuff and focusing on mostly creator owned stuff  like we need 12 extra bat books in one month (or however many they actually do)
Agent Gibbs Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 i have a stack of about 20 comics to read so i'm very behind, haven't caught up with superior spider-man since issue 6, same with Age of Ultron since issue 5, I've got all the new Ghostbusters to read, Batman from issue 17... might read them all tonight
ReZourceman Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 well I'm only 2 weeks behind, but am considering dropping most of Marvel and DC stuff and focusing on mostly creator owned stuff like we need 12 extra bat books in one month (or however many they actually do)  @Daft and I were joking about how many Batbooks there were a couple of months back, saying things like "Batman And Son, Batman Bakes" etc...and we even forgot some when mocking. Crazy.  Detective Comics Batman Dark Knight Batman Inc Batman And Robin (etc) Batman Legend of the Dark Knight  Batwing Batwoman Batgirl Red Hood & Outlaws Nightwing  And I'm definitely forgetting lots. But...seriously, no character needs six books a month. Ridiculous overexposure.
