Ellmeister Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Yeah he does, thats why no-one thinks to lynch or kill him for so long and then he just wins Why do people say it is clearly someone else and not ReZ that does the killing? Why is it not perfectly feasible that he sent his Ostrich and then killed himself?
Fierce_LiNk Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Yeah he does, thats why no-one thinks to lynch or kill him for so long and then he just wins Why do people say it is clearly someone else and not ReZ that does the killing? Why is it not perfectly feasible that he sent his Ostrich and then killed himself? I'm going to admit that I had that possibility when I read that in the write-up and then the following discussion. It could be used as a distraction technique/decoy, yes?
Tales Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 It doesn't clear him, but it's kind of too obvious. It's the first time it appears too, then again, it's the first time Angus is a different player.
Ellmeister Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Exactly, I thought it might just be flavour text for how the killing went down, ReZ got his Ostrich to help him out a bit? But apparently there has been a disclaimer from Jonnas which acknowledges that it really was a dream. THOUGH, ReZ admitted he did track him, so there was in fact an Ostrich there at some point, so I'm not sure what to believe because he must have let the Ostrich into his room which wasn't a dream and that is how the killer managed to get in?
EddieColeslaw Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Well if we had a proper investigator investigate you or if you killed a mafia member then we could be more certain, but it's risky to plan both these things so it would have to happen without planning. And it could be that you appear as good so people can always argue that. I thought Cube is an investigator? And Rez has a cat that can investigate? And you, yourself?
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 THOUGH, ReZ admitted he did track him, so there was in fact an Ostrich there at some point, so I'm not sure what to believe because he must have let the Ostrich into his room which wasn't a dream and that is how the killer managed to get in? This sounds SO funny out of context.
Diageo Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 I thought Cube is an investigator? And Rez has a cat that can investigate? And you, yourself? I am not an investigator, Cube investigates powers and ReZ claims to investigate but only got inconclusive so far and I have no idea why he doesn't use this cat more. Actually ReZ, why the hell don't you use your investigator cat more. Clearly that would be way more useful than tracking people and tracking yourself.
Jonnas Posted May 11, 2011 Author Posted May 11, 2011 Vote Standings Cube (2): Dyson, Esequiel Nintendohnut (1): chairdriver ReZ (1): Ellmeister Majority is 11
Zell Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Lol, yeah, I made you seem all shady-like on purpose. The write-up said you re-directed someone from their original path. Maddog confirmed I targeted you. You confirmed you were a re-director. And nobody thought it worth discussing any further. If anything, it made you coming out about your role a hell of a lot easier than it could have been. We already knew Zell was a thief, so sadly we didn't get any more info about him. Question though (to Zell): Have you stolen anything so far in this game? There was something about a cape? Anything else. I've found you very quiet so would like to learn more. I'll rebrief everyone because its seems quite easy to forget all the little bits of info in this massive thread. I stole bear traps from nintendohnut night 2, a cape night 3 and last night I got bits of paper from maddog. That's all I've got. I was roleblocked night 1 and I used the cape night 4. My character is Oliver Carter and I'm the doorman. I haven't mentioned it in this thread but my laptop broke on Friday so I've got limited web access (currently typing this on my phone). Not trying to use that as an excuse though, I'll be active when I can. At the moment I'm not really sure who to suspect, but I'm willing to lynch nintendohnut if we don't have anyone better.
Zell Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Are you able to use the traps Zell? Indeed I am. I won't be able to use my regular power though.
Diageo Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 So each thing you steal allows you to use that power? What does the paper let you do? Do the traps work in the same way that you can set them around yourself?
Zell Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 So each thing you steal allows you to use that power? What does the paper let you do? Do the traps work in the same way that you can set them around yourself? I think that's the general idea. I was hoping whatever I would steal from maddog might give me some kind of investigating power but it only gave me the info that maddog knows. Yeah, I set them around my room.
The Peeps Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Vote: Nintendohnut I don't think anything else is going to come up and I think Nintendohnut is playing essentially the same role as Dannyboy did in the last game. He needs to kill Angus to win and I don't want him stealing the win (lolololol). I actually trust Dannyboy because Cube has said he looks like Angus and we know Angus has now changed to someone else because Marc was Angus (this is starting to get confusing now) so Dannyboy cannot possibly be Angus and is most likely Angus's twin. That makes sense to me. Zell, is there a limit to how many items you can steal in the game?
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 I'm really on the fence about Dohnut. I really want to believe him, and I know how horrible it is playing those suspicious roles when you're actually not trying to harm the town or steal their win. On the other hand, he's also a damn good liar, so I wouldn't put it past him to pull an Angus on us. At the moment I'm mostly trying to figure out whether I believe his story.
Cube Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Actually ReZ, why the hell don't you use your investigator cat more. Clearly that would be way more useful than tracking people and tracking yourself. Investigations in this game gets you pieces. Is there much point if we find out that somebody is an international gentlemanly pornstar with the name Hugh Package if we have no idea if said character is good of evil? I would think that if we had everyone's names and roles then the only person we could identify as evil would be Angus. Trackers have a chance of getting the right person, which can lead to concrete proof of happenings. Anyway, I'm going to Vote: Nintendohnut as I'm not fond of neutrals, especially those who can kill.
Diageo Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 We don't know if ReZ can get alignments or just names and professions though. His first result was inconclusive and he didn't even get a name did he? Vote Nintendohnut
Diageo Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 ReZ said that he has to cycle through his powers. Did he? I don't remember that.
The Peeps Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 I think I've proven my tracking power before. I'm just going through the cycle of four powers again now. I can't use (X) until I've used (Y,Z and...Z2). Favouritism. It's on the page before this one (if you're looking at 30ppp)
Diageo Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 It's on the page before this one (if you're looking at 30ppp) You see I read his post, then he automerged, and I just clicked to go to first unread post so it skipped.
Nintendohnut Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 FOR FUCKS SAKE I just wrote a really long post then it deleted itself. Fucking fuck. Okay so this is bullshit. There are a few reasons for this being bullshit: 1) Tales, I know you're still pissed at me and Dannyboy for lying in the pokemafia but you have really got to let that go and move on. It was a game and you would have done the same. Right now it's clouding your judgement and making you what rid of us for revenge. Move on and forget about it. 2) The votes against me a silly. I challenge you to give me one legitimate reason that I am a threat: - if I were to kill in the night I would doubtless appear. Killing always appears in the write-ups, so no matter what happened people would know it was me, and if they know it was me I'll be lynched. I do not want to be lynched, and so I will not kill. That is, of course, not even considering the fact that (as I have already explained - and why the fuck would I make this up, what benefit would it have?!) if I kill anyone who isn't Angus I will be shown in the write up through shame. So even if the kill doesn't show up, I will. - The above is assuming I don't kill Angus, but this is a certainty. I have no investigatory powers, and no way of finding out who Angus is outside of the thread. The only information I get is through the writeup and the day phases in which people reveal their info. If someone knew who Angus was, the only way I would find out is in the day when the info comes out, and in that situation Angus will be lynched, meaning I cannot kill him. If I kill at random then the odds are so against me finding Angus that it simply isn't worth me trying - as I said, if I get it wrong I will be shown in the writeup and will be lynched. I cannot risk this, and as such I literally cannot kill. - I cannot be Angus now, that is just Tales trying to cloud your judgement. Ellmeister says be targeted me last night, because I set my traps just as I said I would. I can't kill and set traps, as you know, so I am clearly not the killer. - As I said in the post where I talked about my win condition (yesterday), I don't actually know what it is. At the moment all I've been told is that I have to kill Amgus, and while I admit that this could lead to me winning outright, I would also point out again that I am never going to manage this. Equally if I did kill Angus it may give me another power, make me a townie, make me mafia, make me win but the game continue... I have no idea. But it's never going to happen so *shrug* If there is any single valid reason that I haven't addressed above and that isn't the bullshit of "yeah but you can kill so we should lynch you" (as I've explained, there's no point) that I should actually be lynched then I'll be happy to go, but I am absolutely not a threat to the town. I cant kill, which means I can't kill Angus, which means I can't fulfill that part of my role (and potentially win etc) so there is literally no point in lynching me - all you're doing is bringing the mafia closer to majority In fact if I do get lynched the vote pattern will be important. The mafia will be voting for me, and in fact I would suspect a couple of them have their vote on me already in the hope it will help get the lynch train going. I just call bullshit on this unless anyone can point out a legitimate situation where I could/would do the town harm. I cannot think of one, and as such the voting just doesn't make sense to me. Especially when the days last as long as there is discussion - only the mafia want to end the days quickly, and there's lots more we could get out of today. Sorry about the wall of text. The last one was worse but this was a rushed second typing of that message after it all went to shit the first time.

I challenge you to give me one legitimate reason that I am a threat: I stopped reading here. If you kill Angus you fulfill your win condition. You may steal the win away from the town. That is my legitimate reason for voting for you. It may not be true but I don't want to take the risk. It's also possible that you are mafia and lying, though the inconclusive result from ReZ does work in your favour on this one which is why I believe you are neutral. I will now read the rest of your post :p
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 The funny thing is, he actually explains in the rest of the post why the reason you just gave isn't valid.
The Peeps Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Dannyboy, in the last game did you have any way of finding out who people were? Did you get any info on the people who were caught in your traps? I think I'm remembering that you actually said you were trying to help the princess so I have to concede that by coming out with his role, Nintendohnut has made it pretty impossible for him to win. But then why contribute to a game you cannot win? Even if we don't lynch you, the mafia probably aren't going to want you around.
