Hamishmash Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 How exactly do they take over the Earth? I'm guessing this what you'll find out if you see the film.
Retro_Link Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 It feels like that trailer was all I needed to see!
Happenstance Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 How exactly do they take over the Earth? I can only assume that the monkeys flee all the zoos. People then stop visiting them which throws the entire world into economic turmoil. The money's then turn up wearing suits and glasses offering to fix the problems. Being totally fooled, we humans happily accept, after that its just a matter of time before they take over the White House....then the world.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I guess this is one film with an unhappy ending for the humans.
Ramar Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 What twat thought of that title, it's hideous. Rise of the Planet of the Apes... Looks terrible.
Paj! Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Less fun. Give me my stupid/camp originals. Or even the Burton one.
jayseven Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I like it, actually. I hope that it doesn't end with some sort of ape-ocalypse. Was it hinting, at the start, that they were trying to cure some disease? perhaps the apes are immune, eventually they are recaptured/allowed to live somewhere, then the humans die off. Or not. I dunno. DON'T CARE. Looks cool.
Wesley Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Just watch/read the originals if you're interested in the story. Granted there's five, but still.
Happenstance Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 I thought "the cure" was something they'd come up with to promote healing, not just for one disease but all of them and they were testing it on the ape.
Paj! Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Just watch/read the originals if you're interested in the story. Granted there's five, but still. My fave.
Daft Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 The original Pierre Boulle Planet of the Apes novel is awesome. I recommend.
ReZourceman Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 What twat thought of that title, it's hideous. Rise of the Planet of the Apes... Looks terrible. It was originally called "Rise of the Apes" but they changed the name a few weeks ago. Why? Brand recognition. Fucking idiots. Anyway, its got James Franco in so I'll watch it. Also; - Tom Felton, so I'll watch it. - Andy Serkis, so I'll watch it. - Looks good, so I'll watch it. Many reasons, to which I say "So I'll watch it" and thus, I will watch it.
Ellmeister Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Makes me think of 28 Days Later and what the infected monkeys did next. KILL.
The Peeps Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Not seen any of the other films but I'll probably see this... and then all t'others
The Mad Monkey Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 -CGI Andy Serkis, so I'll watch it. Fixed for you.
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I'm a masssive fan of the original films. The dvd boxset is on my shelf right now. I r looking at it. Not sure if this is going to be good or not. It looks like another of these "We tried to do something good for humanity but eet all went wrrrrroooong" films. Pandoras box, blah blah.
Mokong Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Wait, what? I didn't know this was being made till now.... so are they trying to "fit this into the originals" as a prequel... or is this a prequel to the Wallberg remake showing how the "ending" came to be?
Shorty Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 This film does not look very good. And can only end with a depressing Terminator 3 type ending.
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 This film does not look very good. And can only end with a depressing Terminator 3 type ending. You funny. There wasn't a Terminator 3, man. You are obviously mistaken.
