So I've heard a few people convert RnB/Pop songs into Rock songs and they sound ten times better as rock songs. I want to find some more of them. I found two to start us off:

Lil Wayne- Lollipop (God awful rubbish!)

Framing Henley- Lollipop (A lot better)

=====

Lady Gaga- Poker Face (I love this song and Lady Gaga but...)

Blowsight- Poker Face (...this sounds a little better to me)

....so guys, help me out, are there any Pop/RnB/Rap songs converted to Rock that sounds awesome? Thanks! :D

I actually heard the Blowside cover of Pokerface before hearing the original version. Suffice to say, I was thoroughly unimpressed when I heard the original one.

Kelly Clarkson - Since you been gone

Covered By, A Day To Remember

Britney Spears - Toxic

Covered By, A Static Lullaby

MIMS - This Is Why I'm Hot

Covered By, Well not really a cover, but a different version by MIMS called - This Is Why I Rock

Britney Spears - You Drive Me Crazy

Covered By, Sugarcoma

I'd reccomend the A Day To Remember, Static Lullaby covers and MIMS alternative, but Not to keen on Sugarcoma's effort.

You Should look into the 'Punk Goes...' Range...

If anyone DARES bring Nightwish's disgusting covers of Kate Bush in here I will personally stab them in the gut. Repeatedly.

I do sometimes like listening to those "Rock remixes" people do on Youtube, but they're usually not very good/don't work. Covers are obvious better in that they rearrange the song. Only one I can think of off the top of my head is Kelly Osbourne's "rock" cover of Papa Don't Preach, which I had the cassette of back in the day. :geek:

Obviousy the original is far superior.

I'm sure Kate Bush made them disgusting to begin with.

But Nightwish's attempts on Phantom of the Opera/Walking in the air are not bad. Albeit neither pop or RnB.

I'm sure she didn't, Kate Bush has many sublime songs and I'd actually dare you to listen to some of them - if you haven't already - and quite honestly tell me that they are 'disgusting' because if you did then you know I'd have to get Arnold out... ;)

S.C.G, EEVIL just praised Nightwish in the same post as dissing Kate Bush. There's something so irreparably wrong here that's there's no use commenting. :)

I'll take that bet.

It's ok, I'll let the music do the talking...

Capital selection S.C.G, I promise I will listen to it shortly, just need to finish this essay.

If it keeps you quiet for a little bit, it'll be worth it.

I said I'd give the lass a chance and I did.

Hounds of Love: Not bad, didn't help with the video being complete shite.

Running Up That Hill: Better, video's still wank.

Cloudbusting: Stupid song, worse video. Donald Sutherland yay!

Breathing: Again, not bad. It was a shame that the music drowned her out too much.

Some alright songs, but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to any of them again.

Anyways, back on topic. Pop into Rock:

[Depending on one's definition of rock]

Well I've never been much of a fan of those rock conversions. My music is usually as smooth as silk. :indeed:

However, that Poker Face cover reminded me of a "metal/rock" performance that Gaga did herself.

Lovely stuff! :D

It also feels aurally within the same ballpark as the original, which is hardly bubblegum pop or anything.

(original is also better mumble mumble)

I've also become a fan of ReinXeed, who cover pop songs and turn them into rock and they're quite awesome. My favourite is Viva Forever...
