Happenstance Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Apparently Football Manager Handheld 2011 and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light should be available at around midnight, might have to get them.

The Bard Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Wonder how Lara Croft is gonna translate to the iPhone. Apparently the XBLA and PSN versions were supposed to be quite fantastic.
dazzybee Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Football Manager... Hmmm.... be interesting to see how that transfers onto the iphone. I have up football manager about 4 years ago as it literally fucked me up with work and life - too addictive, been tempted to get back into it... this could be the version. I bought a few games for the iphone and ipad today. Just cheap ones I haven't played yet - slice it, fruit ninja, gravity guy, slingo supreme (on sale), doodle jump, eboy fix pix, zombie highway, zen bound 2 and zombie vs aliens... Is there a place to put game centER names?! Mine is darrenleebolton is anyone wants to add me and play flight control online Flick Kick Football (GREAT game) went online today...but it seems you can't play your friends, just randoms!
tapedeck Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Woot! AppStore updates galore: Real racing 2 - Loved the 1st! Nova 2 - same! Shadow guardian - mimics Uncharted!! Ultimate Mortal kombat 3 - interesting... All available now. Interesting in Lara's outing too. Should all be great games.

Shorty Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) Wonder how Lara Croft is gonna translate to the iPhone. Apparently the XBLA and PSN versions were supposed to be quite fantastic. They 360 game was brilliant, but to me it was only so good because of the co-op experience. Whilst that's possible over wifi or whatever with the iPhone, I don't think it's quite as good as sitting on the sofa playing on a big screen. The pull of the game comes from the way you're suddenly thrown into a trap, only a few seconds from death, and you have to quickly figure out how to work together to escape. You have to think fast and collaborate to make it through the trap. Edit: I've just had a go on the iPhone version of Lara Croft. It's... not bad. Doesn't quite measure up to it's console counterparts, as you would imagine, but I find the controls a little fiddly. It's hard to quickly go from shooting to evading to jumping. They've certainly done a good job squeezing the game into that little retina display, although the visuals obviously don't match up to the likes of Rage HD or Infinity Blade. Also it's way less fun single player as I expected, although that's neither here nor there. Edited December 16, 2010 by Shorty

Serebii Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 So, Secret of Mana came out today on it. A worthy port, or should I stick to the VC one?
Dog-amoto Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 A pretty decent puzzler has just come out. It's called Pinch and until the 29th December, it's free.
Happenstance Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Broken Sword Directors Cut is free at the moment
McPhee Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 It's tomorrow's 12 Days of Christmas download so grab it quick, will prob only be free for 48 hours.
flameboy Posted January 3, 2011 Author Posted January 3, 2011 dang it missed it in transit from Canada.
Guy Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Good lord, iOS has some seriously pretty games out now. I just wish I could play a game like Shadow Guardian with the horrible on-screen controls. It just doesn't and will never feel right. Anything with finger sliding or taps is great though, it's just directional control takes some getting used to. Too much for me to bother.
darksnowman Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 So, Secret of Mana came out today on it. A worthy port, or should I stick to the VC one? Really? Have you tried it or found any views online? I never played SoM back in the day, only got round to it on the VC the other year. I've actually not completed it as I didn't fall in love with the game. I keep meaning to go back to it but never do... my most recent memory in it is of the Moogle forest, I think.

The Bard Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Wait what? Secret of Mana's out on VC? INSTABUY!
Happenstance Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Finally got around to buying Game Dev Story last night, very addictive.
Cube Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Finally got around to buying Game Dev Story last night, very addictive. I'm on Year 29 (it tells you to stop at year 20, but I wanted to carry on). The last game on my first console was my biggest seller yet (A motorsport racing game called ExciteTruck) at 65million. Although that's one odd thing I found: My console sold 17 million, the majority of games sold at least 20 million (lowest was 18million). I've just made my second console, which is awesome (I needed six Hardware Engineers for it).
flameboy Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 Downloaded Mega Jump which is your usual jump endless game with a number of different levels to unlock and Godville which is a weird non-game game, download and see for yourself what its like. Also pix n love rush is a great platformer collection/combo fest with a great graphic style that evolves as you build up combos some great homages to Nintendo systems of years gone by.
Charlie Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Does the game get many updates? I'm not sure; when I had it it didn't get any updates but it doesn't really need them. It's a pretty complete game. Once you finish year 20 you can start again and go down a completely different route. Fantastic game. Does anyone else know similar games? I know there are loads of other ones called 'Story' but they all make you wait say, 5 minutes, until the thing is complete and I just want it to be like GDS...
flameboy Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 Does the game get many updates? I doubt it to be honest...its based on an ages old PC/Japanese Mobile game so I reckon its pretty much as is... I'm not sure; when I had it it didn't get any updates but it doesn't really need them. Yeah I hate that...even worse is the ones that make you wait even longer than 5 mins....like half a day or something dumb...
