Fierce_LiNk
I was having a little thought playing ExciteTruck yesterday evening. As I was playing eet, I thought to myself "whoa, this level is even more awesome than I thought it was originally." Haven't played the game in a while, so going back to it and loving it even more is great. So, whilst thinking about that, I thought about other sections of Wii games that I particularly enjoyed, and thought it would make a nice idea for a thread. 1. Nebula - What a beautiful level: It seems a bit out of place at first, but it really is a fun level. Beautiful to look at, great to play and it just seems to have you thinking "fuck yeah" over and over in your head. It seems quite hard at first, so I'm proud to have S-ranked this. 2. Ice Mansion - One of my favourite levels. Really well designed, fun and insanely memorable. Just about every aspect of this level was beautiful. And, what a great weapon we received in this make-shift dungeon. 3. Chapter 9! - One of my newest favourite levels in gaming. It's quite a long level, but it is wonderfully constructed. It has you feeling isolated, especially the part through the vents. There's a good firefight or two. And then, an absolutely wonderful section set on the outside of the ship. With a thrilling ending. I must say, the chapter after this (the last one) was a let down, because the bar had been raised so insanely high by this level. 4. Matter Splatter Galaxy - Probably not everyone's favourite choice of level, but I love it. Very wtf-ish, but so wonderful at the same time: 5. King Hippo - Again, a new favourite, but a classic moment in Nintendo gaming. At first, I played this and thought that it was impossible. But, gradually, you learn strategies and ways to hit the sucker and it becomes a wonderful fight. What I love is just the size difference between the two characters. It really is a great Champion fight.

STOOPIDDITTIES
MadWorld The last level, just for the sake of who the final boss was. No More Heroes The opening level for being so in your face and the fight with Shinobu are embedded in my mind. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Any of the chase scenes
Jonnas
This will be a good thread, I believe. Anyway, off the top of my head, I love: The Water Temple - I love almost every dungeon in OoT, but the Water Temple really stands out. It's not just the challenge it brings, it's the fact that, again and again, it kept surprising me. First, the main pillar/room, then the rotating platforms in waterfalls, then Dark Link, then the wild river with whirlpools, then Morpha. Definitely, the most well-designed temple in the series' history. Story Mode: Chapter 4 - F-Zero GX is an excellent game, but there's only one part of the game where the goal is to kill everyone else. I can't remember how many times I replayed this chapter. Honestly, it just makes me wish for a Carmaggeddon/F-Zero crossover (0:49 to 1:52) The Leaf Surf Level - This is a bit on the obscure side, but this is definitely one of my favourite games on the Mega Drive. This Donald-exclusive level happened to be really fun. A bit easy, but the fast-paced nature, along with that awesome music made it so that I loved using Donald exclusively just so that I could play that level (later on, he also had an awesome caribbean-themed level, but that's another story) Jumpin' Jack Flash - This was a no-brainer. Each mission was getting better than the last, so it's incredible that they managed to give the game such an amazing finale. The Final Battle - Truth be told, no other game managed to tell such an emotional plot so well (for me, at least). That entire final sequence gave a satsifying ending to the story, and nearly brought tears to my eyes. Honestly, I believe that ending cemented Mother 3 as one of the best RPGs of all time Of course, there are plenty of other good ones.
darksnowman
Of course, there are plenty of other good ones. And maybe something from the Wii? I can't think of anything specific, but Endless Ocean has some breathtaking moments in it. You get to view some amazing things in that game. Remember in Mario Galaxy when you were shooting round and you got to see things explode all round you? Theres a section like that in the lava level, for example. Fantastic. Retro_Link
Airship: Operation Takeback Fantastic setting for a level, and it was a really great puzzle to work out and had you thinking ahead! Some great fun 'set pieces' and scenes in this one. Loved it!! Delfino Square Yes it's a DS track, but all the mroe fun on the big screen. LOVE this track and great music!! Lovely twisty turny alleyway racing, along the docks, the bridge, great track and always seems to provide great races! Other Great tracks: Coconut Mall, Koopa Cape and DK's Snowboard Cross!! Tbf there are just SO MANY awesome levels and moments in galaxy, fantastic memorable boss battles etc... but here are some of my favourite places... Beach Bowl Galaxy Just an awesome, fun, relaxing galaxy to play about it! and love those penguins!! FreezeFlame Galaxy: Conquering the Summit Fantastic challenging star this one! The fact it includes some ice skating, makes it an instant win, but climbing right the way up to the top of that giant mounting that towered over the level was great! As you made your way up, you could hear that star getting ever closer, but you knew that one wrong move and you were right back down down the bottom again! Toy Time Galaxy: What an awesome place!! The way the retro mario music just kicked in as you landed! Fantastic!! And Trains!!... It has Trains!! Edited March 1, 2010 by Retro_Link
Grazza
Giant Squid - The Wind Waker influence was apparent throughout the game, but this is where it all came together. Stormy sea, crashing waves and an adrenaline-pumping fight with a big monster! King Hippo - Fantastic graphics and art design. Although I haven't completed the game (I don't really like it), this fight was the peak of enjoyment. It was a real learning curve fight, as it seemed very difficult, but actually wasn't when you'd learnt the techniques. Beach Bowl/Sea Slide etc - I love Super Mario Sunshine, so I loved all the sea levels in this game. The penguins were cute, Guppy was a loveable softy and I just loved all the churning water. I also found the manta ray surfing hugely enjoyable, getting the Star first time on the 2nd one! Sky City - It's not that I found it particularly beautiful, but the fact I could Screw Attack across vast areas made me think "This is next gen". Coolness Bears
Not a level as such but my favourite place in Twilight Princess is Lake Hylia. It is just very relaxing place and fun to just swim about in or use the Iron boots and sink. The only time it really isn't is when you have to fight that Sub boss twilight Insect thing! (which is also cool) The music fits it perfectly. Plus it is home to Falbi's Chicken Challenge! which is just extremely fun! And it I love the look of it with the great bridge of Hylia in the distance and how the lake changes throughout the game. When you first go there in twilight it has been drained of the water! (if I remember correctly) and then you go back later and it is filled and of course it is home to the lakebed temple which I also like and I love the Boss Morpheel at the end of it! Equally Fyer's Cannon can shoot you do the dessert as well! I think it is a fantastic part of the game which is greatly used. I'm not going for an obscure one here because I just love Gusty Gardens to bits! : peace: From the music: to the overall colourful affair of the whole level just makes me want to play it again and again and again! I will speak about a specific star though which I loved which is the Major Burrows Daredevil run! I love Moles and this was hilarious plus the fur on that monster was luscious! Also I found it quite challenging as well! I felt the actual tension as if I was really being chased by a giant mole with a blue shell on its head! I like my relaxed games and even though Mario Kart is fast paced and mental. I can easily relax on this track as it's just a blast to play in a relaxing forest with good short cuts and giant wigglers to boot! extremely fun on a bike! The music is one I love to hum while playing. I miss Mario Kart Online. Damn My lack of wifi at Uni! This part of the game was so good! With zomies coming at you from all angles upstairs, downstairs I loved the chaotic non stop action of this segment. Also the Regenerators. As much as they freaked me out while playing. They made for some of the most tense gameplay I've ever had to encounter and that feeling when I'd finally sniped one to death was great! Nothing particularly exciting about it but I loved its simplicity while it still had character and Animal Crossing, KK Slider and the Theme from Animal Crossing gently playing in the background! So essentially I like levels that are either calm and relaxing OR have a relaxing aspect to it while being extremely mental! D_prOdigy
Fleet stage. Breathtaking. Brinstar Depths. Has a lot of memories for me, as does the game. I was a total gamer noob when I first played it, and found this stage to be particularly difficult to stay alive in.
Emasher
The one thing that actually stands out for me in a Wii game would be defending the house in Resi 4. I suppose it wasn't really a Wii game though.

Jonnas
And maybe something from the Wii? Damn, talk about completely missing the point of a thread *Ahem* Port Town Aero Dive - Awesome improvement over Mute City, awesome stage to fight in. I love how you can hit walls in the curves. I also love how "Fire Field" comes up as the music most of the time. Escaping "Salazar's Right Hand" - I recently found out you can actually kill the bastard. However, that doesn't make a difference, because being stuck in a room with a monster that can easily hide, slice you in an instant, and is seemingly invincible is among the best sections in the game. Waiting for an elevator has never taken so long. Audio That level where we can hear "Revolutionary" for the first time - Because, not only was the level incredibly fun from start to end, it was one of the last levels, and the music made it what it is. "Revolutionary Mood" is the perfect way to describe that song, and level. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to play on my Wii (The DS is a different story). I'm still finishing Resi 4, and I have at least 3 games waiting. By the way, anyone mind if I create a similar thread in the "Retro" Board? Or do we use this one for non-Wii games as well? welsh_gamer
Along with the 'Defend the House' set-piece this is a memorable one. Also pays tribute to 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' with the spike roof and of course the mine chase. Throw in two Chainsaw Ganados and you've got a classic section. Shooting zombie clowns at a funfair - what's not to like!? Quite possibly the best stealth mission ever.

I don't care how much people complain about the sword control in Twi Pri not being one to one because when I was hanging onto that boss for dear life, pummelling at it with the sword before it could shake me off, I WAS Link. So intense! By the way, anyone mind if I create a similar thread in the "Retro" Board? Or do we use this one for non-Wii games as well? I say go for it, twould be good fun to reminisce of great moments in older games too.

Fierce_LiNk
Yeeees, I am happy to see some love for de Blob and ExciteTruck. You make me proud, suckers. Also, yes, that defending the house scene for Resident Evil 4 is brilliant. Probably my favourite moment in that game. On a sidenote: Grazza, you no like Punchout? I am sad.
