So Sonic Rush HD then. Shame I wasn't really a fan of that, just the first 3 (and SnK). I preferred the balance of platforming and speed in the early ones compared to the later speed fest pressing an occasional button.

I am with you all the way for me Sonic 2 and 3 are the pinnacle of the series.

I wonder if they'll release S3&K...

It's IN S&K... under bonus content, if you allready have Sonic 1, 2 & 3 then you can play their respective lock-on counter-parts. :)

I'm tempted to get it, as I've not fully played S3&K, but it'll be 800 points.. It's a shame that S&K isn't compatible with the Ultimate Mega Drive Collection.

Trust me Cube... it's well worth it :D they are great games on their own but combined? they form what is easily one of - if not the - best Sonic games ever created.

No - but we can finally have our playthroughs like we planned to :D

It's fantastic. I've barely touched the game but come next Monday I am so there!

Woo! just completed Knuckles in Sonic 2 19th in the world on the leaderboard :awesome: I'm content with that since the top 10 is full of people who clearly 'score-whored' in the Casino Night Zone whereas I just blitzed my way through the whole game in about an hour. :)

I hope they stick to Sonic for this game or maybe also Tails but I really hope they don't put another new character in it...

See thats how it fulls apart. Sonic Team think yes lets have Sonic return to his roots and be on his own. Then someones like oh lets have Tails in there, then its a case of well we've got Tails in lets shove all this other crap in...

That Project Needlemouse site says its nothing to do with the new game... which I hope is true because that pseudo 3D crap at the top looks horrible.

On a more positive note: awesome news.

So let me get this straight... this new 2D Sonic game that is being created just happens to have been dubbed 'Project Needlemouse' by Sega and yet some fans of Sonic have been working on a similar project with the same name? hence the confusion... this is my current understanding of things.

Potential Playable Characters:

However:

1: The Details: Each name on the picture above is a potential playable character in Project Needlemouse. However, not all of them are going to make the cut – and each day this week until Friday, we’re going to update this picture with a rejected stamp over those who will not actually be showing up!

2: The Challenge: Answer our trivia questions about old-school Sonic games! (Genesis era) We’ll post trivia questions each day on a specific part of our SEGA/Sonic sites, and you all have to work together to figure out the right answers and post them there! Each day we’ll challenge you guys to get a certain number of people to post the correct answers – and if you meet that challenge, we’ll remove more names from the picture in a new blog the following day!

*About Bonus Points: If you go above and beyond the expected results, the community will earn a bonus point for that day. Earn at least three bonus points and we’ll give you all something special this Friday!

3: The Schedule:

Monday: SEGA Blogs

Tuesday: SEGA/Sonic Facebook

Wednesday: Official Sonic Forum

Thursday: SEGA Twitter

So basically, if enough people answer questions about the Mega Drive Sonic Games, then the less characters there will be in the game.

Although I'm expecting them to cross them all off (except Sonic, obviously) no matter what. Still, at least the developers realise that everyone hates the extra characters.

That news added with this:

SEGA came to Integrated Alchemy Media without a game, without a title, without a logo, without a character, and with a challenge: Make fans of Sonic the Hedgehog excited about his return in the game you’re not going to show. We had one week. But we also had Trevor Gavin, Ryan Berkey and Vadan Less This 30 second teaser got 100,000 views in its first 48 hours and the mission was a total success.

Makes me a bit skeptical about this game.

Either Sega are being immensely quiet and silent about the game or they have no game at all currently and are pulling us by the dick.

WHat makes this even worst is the fact it's like Sega knew all along that most of the Sonic characters suck and should never been put into the series. It was like they did this to laugh at how far Sonic fans would stoop in trying to defend it (And it happens I still see people defending Sonic 2006 :hmm: )
