Jimbob Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Sounds like a good idea, i won't be partaking though. Good luck, i hope to see some lovely Youtube videos soon.
Beast Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I know a friend who would fall for this a treat and I KNOW his reaction would be hilarious so I might take part.
CoolFunkMan Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 And prank call McDonalds? Don't bother me at work... (seriously I, unfortunately, work at one.) Actually, the managers answer the phone, and something like this would really piss them off. Go for it folks!
Daft Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 WTF? They don't do nuggets? Prank calls are low.
Beast Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 LOL! The ending was like "AWWWWKWAAAARD!" lmao
bluey Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 *cough* i think reZ may have phone prank envy... you know what'd be good...? getting a load of random strangers to rick-roll someone who used the words "what's the worst that could happen?" when warned about giving his number out on an internet foru..... oh wait, nah someone already did that, didn't they?
ReZourceman Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 I still stand by my statement of whats the worst that could happen. So far only good stuff has come from it.
Goafer Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I don't like prank calls to places like McDonalds etc. It's bad enough the people who work there have to do a crap job, they don't need jerks laughing at them on top of it. Just my 2 cents. I know I'd be pissed if I got a prank call when I worked at the petrol station, it was bad enough when the customers were jerks face to face.

It's probably an idea that seems quite funny when you're younger, but when you get a bit older you know you're just making someone else feel a bit crap. I did make a call to my brother recently, pretended I was an old Iranian man, and asking for really bizarre things on a pizza. It was ok, because he saw the funny side, and I needed to speak to him anyway. I usually think prank calls are funnier if you know the person on the other end of the line, but I guess that's debatable. That said, I've probably made about...two in my entire lifetime, and they were both to my brother, haha.
EEVILMURRAY Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I guess it depends on the call. As you can see with Jack calling Arby's it's all taken in good fun and nothing really bad is said. Arnie calling Murphy the plumber, he gets slightly stressed. As well as the few Richard Simmons pranks I've witnessed. Some examples:
ReZourceman Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 It's probably an idea that seems quite funny when you're younger, but when you get a bit older you know you're just making someone else feel a bit crap. If you guys got a prank call what would you do? Seriously, I can't believe you wouldn't find it funny.
Daft Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I don't understand what's funny about it. The whole point of a prank is that you find a someone that is oblivious to the fact that you are laughing at them. If I could, I'd reach through the phone and break the persons neck. Since I can't do that I'd probably just tell them to 'C*nt off' and hang up. It makes me amazingly angry actually. The last person who prank called me, I said some amazingly nasty things before hanging up. They then proceeded to call my phone again and again for the next hour or so before I just switched off my phone for the whole day. Yeah, he idea really f*cks me off. Wasted oxygen.
Fierce_LiNk Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 If you guys got a prank call what would you do? Seriously, I can't believe you wouldn't find it funny. If it's done by a friend or somebody I know, then I wouldn't be too bothered by it. I can't say I'm that bothered by them really. But, like Goafer says, if I was working at a place like McDonalds and then got a random prank phone-call, it probably wouldn't be taken in the same way. I mean, you're working at place which you probably don't enjoy all that much, you're stressed out and tired, so it's the last thing you want, maybe? Although, it could have the adverse effect where it actually turns out to be the highlight of your day, or makes you chuckle. But, it would need to be a good prank phone call in that sense. There was one phone-call which was done by two good friends of mine about two years ago. Basically, I was in a lecture, and as soon as I got out of there I realised that I had a voicemail message on my phone. So, I promptly checked to see what it was, or who it was from. I couldn't make it out at all first time around, but the second time of listening I made out a few words. It said along the lines of "hi, my name is Kim and I'm calling from ____ sexual health clinic. Somebody who you have recently had sexual contact with has tested positive for a sexually transmitted disease. Please call us on ____." Now, initially, I thought "what the fuck?! I haven't had sex in months (as I was single at the time)" and I was confused. But then, I was thinking "oh no, its on the phone, so it must be true!" I sat on the bus on the way back to my house, with a friend next to me, and he was chatting about something random. The whole time, I didn't say a word as I was thinking "whaaaaat?!" My face was as white as a sheet. Then, I listened to it again, and thought...I bet its Emma and Danielle! So, I rang one of them, they were both together and much laughter ensured. It probably sounds like a cruel joke to play on somebody. But, we have a good kind of friendship, and we used to make a lot of jokes about one another's sex lives. And, with me being single, I was being linked with different girls and had many funny stories, so they were just playing off that. I mean, I knew in myself that it was a strange phone call and couldn't be true, but they had me going there for a second. :p Damn, this turned out longer than I thought it would be. In essence, this prank was funny for us because there was a context there, I think. If they'd have done it to someone else, for example, it would've probably caused them some distress or upset.
