Indigo Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 but..it like nearly is december....dude. Ah I know, but you said you bought all your presents a month ago. That's like, October.
James Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Usually put the tree up a week the friday week before christmas day, but alas I wont be here to do it since I am in south africa for three weeks and get back on xmas eve. got my parents presents, and thats about it. I asked santa for some games and some cd's.
dukkadukka Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 We usually put the tree up on Christmas Eve, or the 23rd. And it's always a real tree; none of that fake plastic nonsense. ruddy hell, your family must be pretty grim
Raining_again Posted November 27, 2005 Author Posted November 27, 2005 Ah I know, but you said you bought all your presents a month ago. That's like, October. Well stuff goes out of stock over here pretty quick, so like i was saving myself having to stress about alternatives to buy people.
Guest Jordan Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 We puts ours up during Dec, middle of the month i think.
Katie Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 We've got a christmas party for work on Friday, seems a bit early but it should be good. I thought about giving my mum a CD I downloaded from the computer but then I might look cheap. Especially if she gets me something expensive and I've ended up spending 50p on a blank CD to burn it onto I don't think mums much care how much you spend, she might like it more because you've made it. Or buy her something small too...
Indigo Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 ruddy hell, your family must be pretty grim  Nah, we just don't like to prolong Christmas. It's more fun that way, as it's much easier to get into the spirit, and in a way it's much less anticlimatical. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to understate the importance of Christmas or anything. I mean, I'm a Christian myself, and as such it is of particular significance for me because it symbolises so much. I guess that's at the root of my bitterness really. With all the commercialism of Christmas (and Easter), these festivals lose all their meaning to society, and that's something that I find quite saddening.
RoadKill Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Microsoft® Xbox 360® is top of my list. However I'm a dirty non religious heathen. I very much doubt anyone will buy me one.
mario114 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 I think we'll be putting our tree up at my home about 2 weekend of dec. so bout the 14th then.
Jon Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Tree will go up sometime next week. No christmas shopping untill at least the 23rd.
Eenuh Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 No tree up yet until at least after Sinterklaas, which is on December 6. Been putting up a plastic tree the last couple of years, because my mom was getting tired of the needles that kept falling on the ground from the real tree. I don't mind the plastic tree, it looks nice too. Haven't bought anything yet, though I'm looking around for possible presents. And this is my list of things I'm asking: -Kirby: Power Paintbrush (will probably get this from my parents) -Starsailor's Silence is Easy cd (will probably get this from one of my sisters) -Black & White 2 (doubt I'll get this) -Copic Markers (not even sure they know what these are) -a gift voucher thingie from an art store here Not quite yet in the Christmas spirit, seeing as it's a bit too early for that, even though my mom's family will be holding a Christmas reunion on the 18th, just because everyone will be gone/busy on the 25th. So yeah.
Twozzok Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Jordan, what model is that, i can't find it on Creatives site, can only find another model, but that ones looks nicer E: well, top of my list is either this or this. i haven't decided yet, and i'm gonna donate £50 to the cause since £250 is a rather large amount. If i can't get a bass, i'm gonna try and get a Creative Zen Sleek.
Ashley Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Ah I know, but you said you bought all your presents a month ago. That's like, October. Thats preperation really. I was thinking about it and I get paid next week some time from Sports World, then on the 9th from Game and the 23rd from Game again. Shame I'll be at work Xmas eve, as the pay cheque on the 23rd will be sweet. 80 hours worth (and thats just 2 weeks).
Haver Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I have requested the second season of the West Wing on DVD and Mario Kart DS. The kids are getting a NDS each. So we'll have five.
ViPeR Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Damn another year where i've already bought everything I want before Christmas, damn impatience. Might ask for Sonic Rush or Battalion Wars, but i'd be quite happy with the standard feast, a tree and lounging around watching Christmas TV/Movies.
Maverick Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Oh i love christmas ITS THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR! The partys, the food (always having more than you need) the alcohol, giving presents, reciving presents, unwrapping presents, new years, the birth of jesus, the cold weather (i love wrapping up warm), the possibility of snow and spending time with family. To not enjoy christmas you must have A have sold your soul or B have a non working heart.

It rocks having so much money but you don't half have the time or energy to spend it! I start my christmas shoppin early, cause i dont like relying on the last paycheck before christmas - maybe im just strange.
soag Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 We put are tree up on the 1st of december and take it down on the 1st of jan. Other houses in the estate put them up like the day after hallowen which is just retarded.
Charlie Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Tree will go up sometime next week. No christmas shopping untill at least the 23rd. Did you know that men shopping on Christmas Eve suffer more stress than riot police during a riot? Can I join you?

Sarka Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Just for all your weird history or old people, here's a fact. One of the islands of Shetland celebrates Christmas on January 6th (I think), the 12th day of Christmas, like people used to do ages ago. Hmmmm *strokes chinny chin chin*
Jon Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 You islanders still live in the oldern days though.
