Bren Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Noice, im headin up to ASDA at midnight, gonna be such a HUAGE queue, not lookin foward to it. Final supermarket prices are: £26 in sainsburys £32 in ASDA £25 in Tesco when bought with any other top 20 game. This has been all confirmed by newspaper ads
flameboy Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Hmmm wonder what the chances are of supermarkets still having it in when I get paid on Friday.
Ganepark32 Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Haven't decided whether I'm going to pick it up at midnight or not. Supposed to be in at Uni tomorrow morning but not sure if I can be bothered going. Also not sure how a midnight launch will work at my local Gamestation given it's in a shopping centre that shuts at like 8pm. Will have a look later today and see what's happening but more likely I'll go and pick it up at 8am tomorrow morning and get a quick go in. Gonna do the trade two games in thing at Gamestation as I have some on the list I'm no longer playing. I've tagged the list below in case people are curious what they'll accept. Borderlands (PS3/360) CoD4 (PS3/360) Colin McRae Dirt 2 (360/PS3) Halo 3: ODST InFamous Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (PS3/360) Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (PS3/360) Overlord 2 (PS3/360) Pro Evo Soccer 2010 (PS3/360) Sacred 2: Fallen Angel (PS3/360) Ratchet & Clank: Crack in Time Star Wars: Clone Wars Republic Heroes WET (PS3/360) Smackdown VS. Raw 2010 (PS3/360) Weirdly, WET is only worth £10 in Gamestation yet they've included it in this deal. Not too fussed as it's one of the things I'll be putting towards MW2.
S.C.G Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Following on from completing the first MW the night before, last night I played WAW from start to finish and I actually really enjoyed it MW is still better of course but what I did like about WAW was the lack of laser sights... y'know on the rifle where you have to line up the actual sights and BAM! there it is, a perfect headshot, very satisfying indeed; I also rather enjoyed the Flamethrower. Plus the final level... it just felt more 'epic' I guess, I mean yeah disarming nukes in MW did seem like a more serious threat but just the way that everything was 'built-up' more in WAW made it seem like a more satisfying final level. Oh well, roll on MW2!
LegoMan1031 Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 (edited) Just so people know ASDA are selling this for £32. A friend of mine said it read it's in a newspaper today and another friend asked in my local ASDA who confirmed the price. And apparantly Sainsburys price is only £25 if you buy another top end game from them at the same time. EDIT: Just realised Skunkys post above, ignore mine! sorry... Daft Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Hmmmm.... Noice, im headin up to ASDA at midnight, gonna be such a HUAGE queue, not lookin foward to it. Sainsburys or Tesco?
MATtheHAT Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 I'm going to Meadowhall tonight to pick up my copy. To anyone who is familiar with the shopping centre, is the main entrance the one where Argos is?
Beast Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 I've pre-ordered this at my local BlockBusters for £45 so I'm going there at midnight tonight with my cousin, haha. Can't wait, good times! :p
LegoMan1031 Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Hmmmm.... Which one requires another game with it? Sainsburys or Tesco? If Skunky has seen it in the paper i would go with what he has said as my info is only third party.
martinist Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 bleh...was hoping i would get this today but it doesn't look like it. Parcel Force should start moving it thought tonight and get delivered tomorrow.
Daft Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 If Skunky has seen it in the paper i would go with what he has said as my info is only third party. Fingers crossed it is Tesco because I only have a Sainsburys near me.
James Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Its the Tesco one which is £25 with another top 20 Game. Sainsbos is confrimed as £26
Hero-of-Time Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 bleh...was hoping i would get this today but it doesn't look like it. Parcel Force should start moving it thought tonight and get delivered tomorrow. Im starting to think my Parcel Force status is a lie as it should have been here by now. It makes no difference really as im still off to the Metro Centre tonight for their Midnight opening as I have to pick up my nephews copy of the game. The GAME store there are staying open 10pm-1am and up until midnight are having CoD4 tournys where you can win prizes and free copys of MW2. Theres a few of us are heading down there tonight.
martinist Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 holy crap i was wrong! it just turned up with the postman a few seconds ago!!! now excuse me while i go and play the crap out of this game
Caris Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Why don't you go to a supermarket and it up for less?
S.C.G Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Why don't you go to a supermarket and it up for less? Because supermarkets don't always guarantee you a copy on/before release, yes I know they will order loads of copies but imagine going to a supermarket expecting to get it cheap 'n all and then finding out that they'd just sold out... that'd just plain suck. :/ Tbf though I would have picked it up at work if my local branch even stocked 360 games, sadly they don't though, just Nintendo stuff... 'tis a small store, so yeah, that's why I decided to just go ahead and get the hardened edition from Play.com lol, there is a small chance I'll get it today as well as it's coming via courier and not Royal Fail. Edit- actually there is also a chance that it could get 'lost' in transit but, I guess it's a risk that's gotta be taken when you order online.
Oxigen_Waste Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 PS3 certainty. If I buy it at all. I don't know why anyone would get the 360 version of they have a PS3. MS need to learn, and quick, that is has to stop charging for online. Because live is better and because the PS3's analogs suck, escpecially for shooters. Simple enough, really. I have both consoles and the only non exclusive I have for the ps3 is Tekken 6, mainly because of the ps3's Dpad. As for why live is better, it's not about "party chat" or any of those faggario features, it's simply because it's much more stable and dependable. Not that the PSN is bad, but it's just not as good, for sure.
Bren Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Now this is the cheapest modern warfare offer thats going to happen, £20!! Makro are doing it for £20, you just need to print this voucher. http://www.makro.co.uk/servlet/PB/menu/1153441/index.html :D :D :D
S.C.G Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 (edited) I wonder where/how they obtained copies of the game to sell them that cheaply? Seriously... they either got them dirt cheap somehow or they are making a mahoosive loss on them. Still a good deal if you have one of those stores near you, personally I'd never heard of 'em. Edit - lol no wonder... their nearest store to me is Exeter which isn't exactly 'local'. Edited November 9, 2009 by S.C.G
Bren Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Thers one like 2 miles from my house, i think im gonna head down there in the mornin. The only problem people are gonna face is you need to be a members, its a wholesalers, luckily my uncle has a makro card

The-Ironflame Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Amazon are selling it for 32 quid if you can't get down to Sainsburys or Asda http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0021AETNQ/ref=ox_ya_os_product
ViPeR Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Typical, the one supermarket I work at is the one that hasn't got a price yet...(Morrisons). I'm guessing they're waiting to see the competition before tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be around £30. Lucky I waited it out though and didn't impulse buy at £45 lol.
