I hope its true, I wasn't into that sort of game last generation so I missed out on these. Although, I do wonder how they would work with Wii controls.

Hasn't it been reported that the games makes no use what so ever of the additional functionality offered by the Wii remote, or have I dreamt reading that...

Your right about it not using functionality of the Wii remote and you cant used the GC controller for it.

Funny how we've had regular updates on Another Code and Punch-Out since their reveal [at what ever that show was], but there's been nothing on:

Endless Ocean 2, Sin & Punishment 2, that Sword Fighting game, that Space walking game etc...

Guess we'll be waiting til E3 now!

zero mission is one of the best remakes ever seriously :D

I hear ya! Truer words were never spoken! :yay:

S&P2 had better be at E3, or else I'll... wait, I guess? This is the sequel to the game the Wii was made for, so my hopes are up. I just hope they don't cater too much for the 'casual market'; Dreadful word, but you know what I mean.

Ubi's press release for Assassin's Creed 2:

SAN FRANCISCO – April 16, 2009 – Today Ubisoft announced that Ubisoft Montreal is developing Assassin’s Creed II on all current-generation platforms for a scheduled Holiday 2009 release. The initial installment of Assassin’s Creed® was released in November 2007 to popular and critical success, selling 8 million copies worldwide and garnering awards such as Best Action Game 2007 from 1UP and Outstanding Achievement in Animation from the AIAS.

Assassin’s Creed II is the product of over two years of intensive development by the original creative team behind the Assassin’s Creed brand. In a vast open world environment, the game invites players to incarnate Ezio, a privileged young noble in Renaissance Italy who’s been betrayed by the rival ruling families of Italy. Ezio’s subsequent quest for vengeance plunges players into a captivating and epic story that offers more variety in missions, surprising and engaging new gameplay elements, diverse weapons and a profound character progression that will appeal to fans of the original Assassin’s Creed as well as entice players new to the brand.

“Our creative team is working hard to top the experience of Assassin’s Creed,” said Patrice Desilets, creative director at Ubisoft. “We’ve made improvements to every aspect of the game. We’ve plunged ourselves into the stunning history of the Italian Renaissance so that we can offer fans a unique, varied and innovative Assassin’s Creed experience.”

Additional details on Assassin’s Creed II are revealed in the May issue of Game Informer.

Excuse me for being skeptical as fuck.

Then again... PSP game is on the way too. Easy engine transfer.

If UK retailers do pass that price hike onto consumers, and if the Japanese market continues to shrink, I can certainly see that lead become less profound. Iwata admitted that Japanese sales were unhealthy, but dismissed a price cut. I think they could get away with not slashing the price if they had some imminent big software hitters, but they don't particularly (although there's arguably Wii Sports Resort).

It's not doomsday by any means, but Nintendo should certainly be looking closely at the situation now before leaving it any longer. Now the pinch has hit them at home, the ball is well and truly in NCL's court.
