Olympic Gamer Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 dante!! can i ask you a flavour?its awesome that you post news and stuff but i dont care about that ~ i(and i'm sure a lot of other people)'d like to also hear YOUR opinion on all this news you post. that'd be cool, y'know. RSS Feeds have opinions? Only kidding.
Losername Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 What will she do with herself now? Release a designer range of bras and calculators?
Shotgun2k Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 What will she do with herself now? Release a designer range of bras and calculators? lmao - brilliant
Supergrunch Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Seriously, eww. I think I'll agree with you on this one...
Zell Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 I really hope this doesn't mean the end of Countdown, I love it to fucking bits. Down to Earth show where intelligent people compete for pride and a Teapot, so much better than Deal or No fucking Deal where idiots fluke their way to big money.
Cube Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 What will she do with herself now? Release a designer range of bras and calculators? Or bras with a little pocket that perfectly fits a CV-branded mini calculator. They should just stop Countdown now.
Dante Posted July 26, 2008 Author Posted July 26, 2008 dante!! can i ask you a flavour?its awesome that you post news and stuff but i dont care about that ~ i(and i'm sure a lot of other people)'d like to also hear YOUR opinion on all this news you post. that'd be cool, y'know. good for carol ~ she can branch out with her career. into more porn, probably. okay Bluey. Countdown should have end when Richard died.
Fresh Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Rumors are Carol demanded a pay increase and she was "forced" to quit once Channel 4 refused it. She denies this.
Guest bluey Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 okay Bluey.Countdown should have end when Richard died. ok i'ma help you here: every time you post a news story i think your adoring public should also be granted the following information from you: a. your opinion on the news story b. a reason for your opinion c. a final thought or question for people who eagerly post in your wonderful threads after you. it'll be like the end of a jerry springer episode every time. copy. paste. learn.
EEVILMURRAY Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 So do we expect will take over both roles then?
Losername Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 I don't reckon it'll be long before a computer presents Countdown.
EEVILMURRAY Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Maybe Les Dennis will pop up again after his limited success with The Grid.
BlueStar Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 It's OK, you can still see her on adverts. As she's good with numbers you can trust her when she tells you that you should take out a loan you'll be paying off well into your 90s and she scribbles some sums down on a piece of paper while toughtfully chewing a piece of toast which somehow proves that this particular spread really does lower cholesterol.
EEVILMURRAY Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 She really has had her emotion drained out of her in the most recent first plus advert.
triforcemario Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 What will she do with herself now? Release a designer range of bras and calculators? What about a bra with a built in calculator?
Losername Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 What about a bra with a built in calculator? There's a link here to spelling out boobies on the calculator... but I just can't seem to sort it out. Someone help?
Android18a Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Countdown could be presented by a computer now, I guess. It's not like the presenters do much a PC couldn't. Countdown, with your host Countbot 6000!
Sheikah Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 I can honestly say I don't like Carol Vorderman...she lent her face to practically every credit card/equity/loan advert there was at one point; adverts made for the purpose of causing more people to spend what they didn't have and get into debt. Smacks of money-grabbing cow to be honest.
Olympic Gamer Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Countdown could be presented by a computer now, I guess. It's not like the presenters do much a PC couldn't. Countdown, with your host Countbot 6000! That'd be awesome. "What did you get Countbot 6000?" "Sex lul lul lul" "Anonymous again..."
Zell Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 I was reading the Sunday Mirror (don't ask) and it says she claims that they wanted to cut her salary by 90% (from £1.5m to £150k) "forcing" her to step down.
EEVILMURRAY Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 I read that somewhere yesterday I think. A take it or leave it thing. She gave them the finger it seems. But she's hidden behind the excuse that she can't bear the pain of getting to know a new host.
Dyson Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 I don't blame her for leaving, a 90% pay cut is ridiculous no matter your salary.
