Deathjam Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I think it was shino or gizmo (names that come to mind) who said this will be a good idea. Well looks like Nintendo were listening as this is being released in Japan. News courtesy of Computer and Video Games
flameboy Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 may be worth picking one up...although have got a wavebird so its not a massive need.
Jamba Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 With games like Smashbros and MarioKart, not to mention the VC, shouldnt Nintendo carry on producing the Gamecube pads?
Cookyman Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Pretty dumb- why not re-release a Wii white wavebird????
Deathjam Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 Maybe the wii wavebird is coming...dunno why though as they should be able to just slap on a label and be done with it really.
Mr. Bananagrabber Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Just picked up a couple of pearl white Cube controllers for Smash Bros. a while a go. They're the same colour and they cost me £5 combined. That is waaaaaay too steep for a wired controller.
Will Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Not interested in the wired ones, if they were white wavebirds I'd probably have bought 3. Would be even better if they'd bring out a proper Wii controller.
Invisible Painting Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Yeah agreed they should make a Wii Gamecube controller, but this is pretty similar to one to be honest. But I'm in the fans who already have a wavebird and wouldn't need to pick one up But if more games start using Gamecube controllers they should start selling them again with the Wii audience in mind.
Shino Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Probably Gizmo, but I too think its a good idea. Specially the 3 meters long cable.
S.C.G Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 re-releasing the Wavebird for Wii would be nice... re-releasing it with a recharable battery pack and RUMBLE FUNCTION would be nicer... If the 360 pad can do it, then so can a re-released Wavebird in this day and age, otherwise whats the point? might as well stick with an original wavebird.
Happenstance Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 It definately is something that needs to be released, its amazing a Wii Wavebird hasnt come out already. As for the white Gamecube pad, I should actually have one coming today with the Pearl White GC I ordered. Just wish parcel force would hurry up and get here!
Tellyn Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Does this have rumble? It's making me wonder if they're planning VC rumble.
Gizmo Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Yeah, I think I said a while ago on here that they should release a white wavebird with the Wii logo and rumble, it would sell pretty well I think.
DCK Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 2,000 yen is actually 12 euros. You know what Cube pads cost here? 30! I'm really considering importing!
Tellyn Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Yeah there's nothing to stop us from importing this, it's not region locked.
darksnowman Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I'd be tempted to get one if you know of a good site? My purple GC pad has a dodgy B button from Metroid Prime (all that jumping!) and all the face buttons on my Wavebird can be a bit "sticky." Its annoying, but I can cope with it when I need to. I usually use my wired controller anyway because I like the rumble, so this being wired is fine by me.
Tellyn Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I'd like to order four of them since the Wavebird has no rumble, and the squeak on my wired pad is bugging me.
Maiky-NiSuTe Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 i already have one that i bought with my white cube lol
Emasher Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Is it actually a real game-cube controller or does it hook into the wii remote? I really have no use for a wired game-cube controller, both my Wii and cube are too far from the couch to use one, so I'd need to sit on the floor. Plus I already have a wavebird. Perhaps Nintendo should release a bluetooth game-cube controller so we don't need to use any dongle, I'd buy a couple of them if they did that, same as if they just linked into the remote. Plus the classic controller is better for most VC games.

Well looks like Nintendo were listening as this is being released in Japan. News courtesy of Computer and Video Games That looks Pearl-White, not Wii-White. Is it actually a real game-cube controller or does it hook into the wii remote? From the looks of it, it's nothing more than a re-release of the Pearl White GameCube Controller.
Jamba Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Well guys, ask Bluey, she might just do a good importing service for you all. She never misses an opportunity to hit Akiba

Personally I don't think Nintendo should be re-releasing anything though...surely it is a damning slam on both the wiimote and the nunchuk and the classic controller that this years biggest title so far Smash Bros plays better on last gens controller...stick to your guns Nintendo...
Cube Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 The only problem is that Nintendo don't want to mess around with "GameCube Mode" - otherwise they would have made the Classic Controller compatible with GameCube games. Possibly the Wii's memory, too.
