Platty Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Bit of an old school question but what do you guys recommend as the best resolution for a 19" monitor? 1280 x 1024? Cheers
Raining_again Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I think 19's are usually around 1280 x 1024. Cube is right tho, the higher the better. I get awful headaches using low res monitors.
Konfucius Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 For a 19'' that's appropriate I'd say. But consider a 22'' they cost about 250 to 300€ (so shouldn't be much more than a 19'' would cost) and the screen is really amazing. I was also standing between a 19'' and 22'' and especially when gaming it's absolutely fantastic.
Shorty Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 1280x1024? :/ I can't get that my 19" monitor is on 1440x900 (highest available...) thinking of buying a 22" or higher one though, if I get some money in that I'm expecting soon.
Dante Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Mine resolution size is set at 1360x768. Go for 1280x1024 or higher.
Gizmo Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 My monitor is 1024x768, because my dad likes the icons to be big, and I got sick of changing it.
Dante Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 1440x900 on a 15.4" display here Mine only goes upto 1360x768 with 32" display.
Fresh Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 1920*1200 on a 24". I bit of a bitch for DVD's come times since it's 16:10 not 16:9.
Shino Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Once you go 1680x1050 on a 20.4" you'll never go back.
Marshmellow Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 I don't have this setup all the time but for the sake of it... 24" at 1920x1200 + 42" at 1920x1080
MoogleViper Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Why do these threads always turn into an e-penis competition? Are you all compensating? I know I am. 1440x900 on a 19" LG
Cube Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Mine resolution size is set at 1360x768.Go for 1280x1024 or higher. HDTV? 1280x1024? :/ I can't get that my 19" monitor is on 1440x900 (highest available...) If it's a widescreen then you don't want 1280x1024. 1920*1200 on a 24". I bit of a bitch for DVD's come times since it's 16:10 not 16:9. Aren't the majority of widescreen monitors 16:10?
Colin Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 HDTV?Aren't the majority of widescreen monitors 16:10? Yep. Well PC monitors anyway............but then again if you're playing DVD's through your PC, then programs like VLC would scale to 16:9, or if you're using a console that is connected to the monitor and you want to play them then you'll need to make sure your monitor can do 1:1 scaling (or whatever it's called). I'm here on 2x 1440x900. Needing moaaaar verticle pixels!
