ReZourceman Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 It sounds weird. Can you make a noise in your ears that only you can hear? Its kinda is like an earthquake type rumbling inside your head? Does anyone actually know what I mean? Its one of the things that you just live with an never really think about. If people dont know what I mean Ill try to explain further, but Im sure it can't just be me.
EchoDesiato Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Yes, I can do the exact same thing. It's hard to describe how to do it, I can do it whenever I want. I also always have that when I'm yawning.
jayseven Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 .. Well I think I looked a fool trying to make a sound. Nope, I don't think I can. What Echo said about a noise when yawning sounds familiar though...
Haden Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 If I shut my eyes and kinda clench my face a bit I get that noise.
Coolness Bears Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I can't make an noise in my ears! But there are definately voices in my head....
Eenuh Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I think I know what you're talking about. It's the kind of noise you get when you yawn and when in an airplane. I think it has to do with the pressure on both sides of your eardrums changing and stuff. But yes, I can do it any time I want. Not even sure how but I guess I just use some muscles near my ears?
Letty Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I know the sound you mean! I also had a sound in my ears when I was 5 or 6 - Id be lying on my bed, in complete silence. There would be a -thud-thud-thud- noise, and I always thought it was a huge gorilla walking up the stairs to my room >.< Now I realise it was just blood pumping in my ears...
Aimless Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Yes, I can. It reminds me of the low rumbling sound of cinematic space, as in the background hum you get in movies when you're watching the floating shuttle or derelict space station. I'd guess it's either something to do with pressure as Eenuh suggested, or possibly blood flow — certain parts of the ear becoming engorged and pressing against your eardrum or whatever.
Coolness Bears Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I get that noise of pumping blood in my ears when i get really nervous talking to someone! But i can't activate it on it's own!
Falcon_BlizZACK Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 YES! I can do that! I have been looking for you brother....(uh scratch that). But yeah, i can do that and I can also 'block' my ears and unblock them. I have always asked people if they could do this but they respond with a ghey expression on their faces.
Ramar Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I can move my ears.. you know wiggle them without using my hands.

I have always asked people if they could do this but they respond with a ghey expression on their faces. Lol, same.
McMad Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 You know what? I'm pretty damn itchy right now.
Platty Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Yeah I know what you mean and can do it. And cos of this thread I can't stop doing it and it's annoying the hell outta me!
triforcemario Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I can hear an earthquake like sound when I move my ears.
Oxigen_Waste Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Everyone can do it... It's not something that's hard to do.
Strider Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I get crackling in left ear and it's no fun. Damn you tinnitus! I can also here high pitched electrical noises others can't. See thats two things my ears do without anyone else hearing it.
Raining_again Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I can also here high pitched electrical noises others can't. Our ps1 broke eons ago, it drove me batty trying to find out what was causing it. I think i might have drove my family to insanity with the "non-existent" high pitched noise i kept going on about.
MoogleViper Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 What are the high pitched noises that we hear? (I assume everybody hears them. Just get a high pitched constant noise every so often.)
Haver Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 You mean when you tense your head, and your ears sort of rumble? Another thing: closing your eyes and losing perspective. Especially when really tired/hungover, and you convince yourself that the pillow is really huge and your head is really small.

I can only see through one eye at a time (which means no depth perception) and this happens to me on a regular basis, its actually pretty scary when you can't control it :/

Like everything goes really scary like when somebody starts spinning out in a horror film. Does anybody ever lose balance? I don't just mean falling over I mean when you don't know which way is up. I get it sometimes and I keep move from side to side trying to find "up" but I can't.
