Something thats bugged me for a while is the lack of thanks for people who post new news in the forums. Alot of the time news gets posted in the forums 1st then gets put on the mainsite.

What I would like to see is what GoNintendo do. For example if Dante got some news from Kotaku GoNintendo would put Kotaku as a source but also thank Dante for the heads up.

I know it sounds trivial but its people like Dante who keep the forums/website upto date with news and should be thanked accordingly. At the end of the day these people dont have to post news on here, they choose to.

Didn't read the rest of the thread, but this isn't as you say. Posting on the forum is just copy/paste, it's natural that the site gets things later and who says that we get info from the forums? I don't think I ever did lol. No disrespect do Dante's work, but he's not our (at least mine) source, we always post our sources. They vary from official press sites only the media get access to from other forums.

EDIT: Rest assured that every time we get something from here we will credit the user. I just happen to browse Neo Gaf most of the time, which then leads me to the original source :P

I have to agree. Dante sometimes gives me news on MSN and then I credit him, but otherwise I use other sources, I rarely get news from the forum. It's usually copy and pastes anyway, whilst we spend time writing a detailed article. :)

None taken my friend.

I never really go to the main page, I'm not really sure why. I guess it's just easier to head over to somewhere like Kotaku to get news fast, and reviews are too few and far between (though I realise this is because you guys only do it in your spare time, it's still the reason).

The biggest thing really is getting reviews up as close to release as you can, preferably before it is actually released if possible..

A suggestion would be to put a link to adblock on the site, it would improve the experience significantly to the users.

Also, it needs to differentiate it self from other sites, how about more dedication to the online games with Code exchanging, leader boards, capitalise on the success of smash and create a really good environment for its community.

Another recommendation is a more aggressive stance on interviews, not saying Tellyn ain't doing it right but you could blow your own horn a bit.

Also, get someone like pedrocasilva for very specialized stuff that would make for some unique articles and a japanese speaking staff for Japan interviews.

We're trying to get the ads sorted, they're disgusting and too frequent.

The leaderboard stuff is a great idea.

In terms of being more aggressive, Iun's putting together something using quotes from developers we've dealt with to make us look more impressive.

Nice idea. Pedro? :)

May I ask, how does one become staff? Send a example piece to a certain someone?

I think they post a thread when they need new people and then people have to send in example pieces.

If you'd like to contact Tphi, or possibly even Mokong, Iun or Wildo, somebody should help you out there.

What were you thinking of? News pieces, or gamer articles?

I was originally just curious, but mentioning it, I'm thinking of gamer articles, although I think I could do news too.

I won't be sending in anything anytime soon, though - exams, you see.

Elsewhere, I love the new banner!

Your help would be greatley appreciated, and much needed. As soon as you think that you have time to help out, drop Tphi an email and then we'll see what happens. :)

That goes for everyone, btw.

Gamer articles? I'm stupid.

The site does need to do something with the grey box. Even if it does hold a place in my heart I won't be sad to see two grey boxes either side of a centred forum.

As in features such as Iun's Fire Flower articles. :)

I'd quite like to help out the site, maybe writing some articles or just contributing to the news, I'd like to give back to this place which has given me so much.

Although at the moment I haven't even achieved a GCSE in English yet, the last thing this place needs is an inexperienced teenager working on the staff team. While I don't doubt my skill as a writer for my age, maybe in a few years my talents will have developed and I may be more capable of producing geniuinely interesting and insightful articles for this place.

Maybe one day - in a year or two.

How about a new theme skin for the forums?

Yes definitely!!

Grey is aaaaaawfully boring - Nintendo realised that after the SNES :p

and..well...the others don't scream N-E that well do they?

Just understand that spending a lot of time in the forums and working on the main site are totally different things. I spent my life here before becoming staff too, but it's totally different that simply creating a thread and pasting some stuff.

Still, we really apreciate all the feedback and interest and if you really interested in helping the site, by all means, e-mail us.
