nightwolf Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Piercing is so damned expensive for what it is, fair enough some places you've got to have a specialist, buts stuff like ears and nose, I did all my own with no trouble, even got a friend who did his own nipples and a Prince Albert without any problems. That's always a good way, my piercer in manchester has iam discount cards, so a nose is like 7quid when you are done. I'm tempted to try myself with lobes or snug, but I'm I don't know if I could shove the needle through and then follow the right jewellery through.
soag Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 George; why the bellybutton piercing, out of interest? Cos it's cool and different, quite a few men have them. The girl loves playing with it Belly buttons rock.
Letty Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Alot of people have issues with them, but either use salvon spray (I don't tend to recommend it because salvon can cause issues with certain people) or sea salt soaks. : ftw!!! It saved me during the early days of my hip surfaces >.<
nightwolf Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 haha my eyebrow loved it...but it's abit iffy I prefer sea salt soaks and most piercers will recommend sss too because it's safe for pretty much everybody. My ears HATE it (salvon) so I can't really use it anymore, it is handy though specially if you don't have much issue.
sarah♥ Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Yeah any sort of surgical spirit works a treat I hope to get my belly button pierced soon I know it's a bitch to clean, but it looks so damn good with a bikini :P
Charlie Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Yeah any sort of surgical spirit works a treatI hope to get my belly button pierced soon I know it's a bitch to clean' date=' but it looks so damn good with a bikini :P[/quote'] Hmm. I beg to differ. Earrings I can cope with, but that's about it. I really don't see the attraction in making extra holes in your body. But each to their own...
nightwolf Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 surgical spirits aren't always good things, the bump as I mentioned before treatments like dulited dettol and tea tree are used...I personally wouldn't go anywhere near them because whilst sometime it does work, it's too much for regular cleaning. I was thinking about an inverse navel actually, but with my tummy bloating and shrinking so much in the course of a day never mind months I seriously doubt it would last...boo.
Sheikah Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Some of you seem to be going to great lengths to make it look like you were in the vicinity of an exploding grenade... Never understood why myself. It's a bit of a turn-off for me.
nightwolf Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Maybe it's a good job I'm not trying to turn you on then?
Shorty Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Never understood why myself. It's a bit of a turn-off for me.And yet a lot of people find it very sexy and exciting. Looking at it that way, it's a good way of quickly being able to identify a girl you'd never get on with Think I'll get my lip pierced a second time this summer after Uni
Guest Jordan Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I have to "deal" with Letty's piercings... I can't say i particularly like her defacing herself, but there ya go. I literally fear when she wants to get something else done. Most of the time its a snap decision and she never thinks things through then complains endlessly about it. *sigh*
nightwolf Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 haha, she'll be fine jordan :P! a few dots of scarring won't do much harm and it tends to fade pretty quickly.
Jav_NE Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I'd love to have more piercings, i've only ever had three: 1: Eyebrow bar - i had to get rid of it when i started working in a restaurant many years ago and i couldn't be bothered replacing it with a clear bar every shift, so it grew out. 2: Lip ring (right side) - i loved this, but the fitting broke while still in my lip. I had to go to the emergency room for them to tweezer a tiny piece of metal out that got stick in my lip. I still have a little lump there now, which i love biting! 3: Earring - Not on the lobe, i don't know what area of my ear it is called. It's right at the top but under where your ear curves down at the front... if that makes sense. I still have this one I'd love to get my lip done again, maybe in the middle this time with just a spike coming out. I have a great iplan for a tattoo too, it sort of starts on my left wrist and bends around under the elbow up to the outer arm and then over the shoulder. But i have no idea what sort of design would suit this, hence why i have never done it. Ah well.
My Buttons are Magic! Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 i have my ears piereced id love a second hole in the ears somewhere (dunno) thats about it really i have a low low low tolerance for pain
Letty Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I've been thinking about getting an anti-eyebrow piercing recently, but Im worried Jordan will have a heart attack

I love mine and it's lasted just under two years now and still going.
Jav_NE Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 helix that what it's called you should get your eyebrow done again, curved bars ftw! I love mine and it's lasted just under two years now and still going. Yeah, mine would have lasted too if i didn't take it out. I had it for about a year before i had to take it out. It's not fair that workplaces can demand that of you, they hired me with it in so it was their own fault! As you can tell i havn't gotten over it! haha I googled my ear, you were close, but it's actualyl the anti-helix that i have.
nightwolf Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 They are also called forward helix, it's confusing when they have so many names, here's a better image for most ear piercings:
Moohawk! Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I love them both. Sorry for the rubbish picture of my tat and couldn't get a decent shot of my labret either so I just added a random photo of me with it in. Always wanted my eyebrow done too though whenever I mention it to ANYONE they look at me in disgust and tell me not to. Shamefully, I always listen to them. I also kinda want a smallish tat of the weighted companion cube somewhere though I'm leaving that idea for a while as it's definitely something I can see myself regretting!
Wesley Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Did you decide to cheat on a math test? Ha... Anyway! I've been thinking of getting a tattoo.. but I am a'scared!
Jav_NE Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I'd quite like to get another in my ear, but i dont want it to look odd if i do it in the same ear, or if its in the other ear i dont want it counteract my other one! I'm very weird, i guess im just used to looking how i do. I like that the one i have is subtle, but noticeable at the same time.

It's pretty much the same with all of them really apart from industrials because they can go through several parts of the ear.
