Dante Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 KONAMI BRINGS OLD-SCHOOL ARCADE ACTION TO THE NINTENDO WII™ WITH TARGET: TERROR™ First Konami Title Compatible with Wii Zapper™ Peripheral, Features Fast-Paced Run ‘N’ Gun Action, Dual Wielding and Fun Mini-Games El Segundo, CA – January 3, 2007 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced that Target: Terror™ is currently in development for the Nintendo Wii™. The game is based on Target: Terror Gold, the top-grossing arcade game of 2006 and designed by arcade pioneer Eugene Jarvis, founder of Raw Thrills, Inc., the developer of Big Buck Hunter PRO. Target: Terror is the first game from Konami that will be compatible with Nintendo’s new Wii Zapper™; players will be able to capture the old-school flavor of fast-paced light gun shooters from gaming’s glory days of the arcades. Target: Terror puts players in the role of an elite counter-terrorist agent charged with protecting the U.S. from an ever-increasing wave of terrorist threats. With a full-scale assault spanning the entire nation, players can show these terrorist thugs who’s boss, using an assortment of lethal weapons including machine guns, grenade launchers, freeze guns, flamethrowers and even an orbital laser beam from space. Target: Terror also features a unique “Justice Mode,” allowing players to dual-wield weapons for twice the mayhem. Target: Terror also features an unlockable offering of fun and humorous mini-games inspired by a variety of arcade classics. Developed by Leviathan Games, Target: Terror is expected to explode onto the Wii in Q1 of 2008. For more information, visit the website at http://www.konami.com. OMG
triforcemario Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 What....The....FUCK?! It's pretty obvious now that Konami aren't taking the Wii seriously. -56 respect points for Konami.
ShadowV7 Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 What the hell? There's games still being made for the SNES? What a minute...

Aimless Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Is this a joke? Surely this is a joke. It is a joke. If it isn't, I hope I don't wake up tomorrow.
Shino Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Is it this easy to cash in with the Wii? Just make... something and it turns into money? Nintendo needs to up the standards instead of being the party's bitch.
Ten10 Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 The problem is that while I was on holiday I found a crappy arcade which had all kinds of crappy games from the nineties. In it was a shooting game made by the said 3DO. Using the same photo captured people popping up. No one was in that arcade, I wasn't in there for very long either. The smell old man was charging £1 a go, but you couldn't force anyone to play something that makes your eyes bleed. But this is just a wash rinse and repeat.
pedrocasilva Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 And THEN they complain about sales. Are they testing waters for Time Crisis 4 or something? with this shit I can't say they'll get too far.
Hellfire Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Why am I the only one who loved this? It's an homage to the old games, I doubt this will be 50€. It's obvious they're doing this on purpose it's just to be nostalgic.

We get Target Terror, living proof that developers still use Mode 7.

Tellyn Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Getting this doesn't imply not getting anything else. Specially when Iga said he wants to make a Castlevania for Wii We've only been given stuff like this by Konami though, the only well-received title was Eledees. The creator of Castlevania said in a recent interview that he wasn't sure of a Wii version, I think. I don't like their attitude. Kojima begs for Snake to be in Brawl, and in return for Sakurai putting him in, we get nothing. No MGS4 for the Wii, no MGS remakes, no MSX Metal Gear, no Game Boy remakes. It's not fair, we deserve better than Target Terror.
Hellfire Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 FFS. Give us proper epic games please. Ugh. I get what you're all saying but this is just a little budget title, it's nothing offensive. In fact I'm liking Konami's work with Wii, they've made Dewey and Eleddes, both really good games, good graphics and original. Oops, sorry no epic games.

Dewy's Adventure got loads of poor reviews, though.

Dewy's Adventure got loads of poor reviews, though.I've got dewy's, it's not poor at all; not bad at all for what it is, a mercury/kororimpa platformer with bosses and all. But this... now, THIS is poor.
Hellfire Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Best shit i've ever seen. Exactly what I think. Might be shit. But it's awesome shit. I mean, just look at the second pic. lol Eledees, yes - that game was awesome. Dewy's Adventure got loads of poor reviews, though. Oh noes! Reviews!
