martinist Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Eternal Sonata i played this for almost 6 hours straight, great game. Its like a fun lesson on the life of Chopin, with mosters. Awesome story so far too. 8.5/10
Oxigen_Waste Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I'll agree with you there, that can be a real bitch in some parts, especially when you reach an end of level boss and have to do half of it all over again, fortunately though that doesn't occur too much. Still for its genre (Hack n' Slash) it stands tall above its main competitors: God of War and Devil May Cry, and I love Devil May Cry. God Of War is still the best of all 3. By the way: God Of War II 9.4/10
The Bard Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 God Of War is still the best of all 3. By the way: God Of War II 9.4/10 Haha...isn't that wierd...McMad reckons Gaiden's the best, I reckon DMC's the best, you reckon GOW's the best. Dante is so much more metal than Kratos In fact, I'm gonna set my PS2 up again...I still have to complete Ico...
Oxigen_Waste Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Haha...isn't that wierd...McMad reckons Gaiden's the best, I reckon DMC's the best, you reckon GOW's the best. Dante is so much more metal than Kratos Hell no! Kratos has blades fused with his arms! And he's always semi nude in the battlefield. That's fucking metal. That, plus... stuff. And besides, dante kills guys with pool balls, how lame is that? Gay boots. Gay red leather. Gay pose. Gay hair. Gay guy. Now, this... this is manly. This is metal: Amazingly, this is even more metal:
McMad Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Daymn, I'm gonna need to buy God of War 2 now, it's not gonna be easy though with that 18 sticker slapped on its box. Ryu beats the shit out of your characters btw; he's a fucking Ninja! And not a bitch like Naruto, a proper badass one.
Bluejay Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Naruto Rise of a Ninja - 6 Enjoyable, if shallow and short. Half Life 2 Episode 1 - 8 Still excellent, but a definate drop in quality from HL2. Has some great moments and character development is superior but overall not as good as HL2. Half Life 2 Episode 2 - 10 Flawless game design. The pacing is what strikes me most in HL games, stringing one set piece to another, raising and lowering the tempo suitably. Debatably as good as HL2.
Pit-Jr Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Vegas Stakes (VC)- 6 Ok so its just a simple casino game but the slots and poker are mildly addictive. Great time killer!
LazyBoy Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Ryu beats the shit out of your characters btw; he's a fucking Ninja! And not a bitch like Naruto, a proper badass one. I'm with McMad here, Ninja Gaiden wipes the floor with the other two, more than anything because of how insanely difficult it is. Just how hack 'n slashers should be. Great design on the enemies as well.
Cube Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Hell no! Kratos has blades fused with his arms! He seems like a very forgettable character. And, unlike Dante, people who don't care about of the games don't know him.
Slaggis Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Fear (360) Played a couple of levels part the way through the game, scared me shitless. Fun. 8/10 Super Mario Galaxy Didn't enjoy it as much as sunshine, it was just to easy to get to the final battle. 8.5/10 Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (and expansions) Awesome game. I always end up playing this for hours when I turn it on, so much fun. 9/10 Also, am I the only one that thinks Dante looks much more awesome than Kratos?
Bluejay Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 8.5/10 Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (and expansions) Awesome game. I always end up playing this for hours when I turn it on, so much fun. 9/10 Oblivion is a game I just could not get into. Normally freedom is a good thing, but in Oblivion, it was too much. It had no structure, it was almost create your own story. To some, that would be great, but it bored me. Also, Ninja Gayman is the best because it has the best name.

Now, this... this is manly. This is metal: Holy shit, that is pretty metal. Either way, they're both cooler than Ryu. I mean, he's not even a cool ninja! Kage Maru could kick his pansy ass:
triforce_keeper Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 High School Musical: Sing It! What a load of fucking bollocks.
LazyBoy Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Alright i'm going to settle this once and for all. These following points explain why Ryu Hayabusa owns all. Right. *clears throat* 1. He's a Ninja 2. Point 1 has rendered the need for any other reason That is all.
Roostophe Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 WWE SmackDown Vs Raw 2008 New game alert. I'm far too used to the WWF No Mercy controls of old, and I'm just getting used to the controls on this one. But I'm liking it atm, started a 24/7 mode with my created character. Trying to rake in the dough, then I'll go and try and unlock The Rock, Austin and Mick Foley. Guitar Hero III A lot of you probably don't know this, but I am a BEAST at this game! I owned the other three GH games, and it was almost like starting all over again when I first played this one. But I got back into the swing of things and pwned Expert mode. But I won't be playing this for a while now, because my fingers are strangely fucked up. I don't know how, but I reckon GH had something to do with it. As I've now got skate., RE:UC, Assassin's Creed and SvR08, I can lay off the pwnage for a little while.
Oxigen_Waste Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 GAY! GAY! Also, am I the only one that thinks Dante looks much more awesome than Kratos? Apparently not. He seems like a very forgettable character. And, unlike Dante, people who don't care about of the games don't know him. For now. Kratos is becoming a fuckig icon and will soon have triple the popularity and recognition that Dante has. Also... pointless argument, all three are great game series... Except DMC2, of course.

Yeah, I think the one thing that GOW has over DMC is that there is not a single game in the GOW series that isn't mind blowing, and DMC2 was pretty shitty. Still, DMC4 is going to blow everything away, you can change styles in real time now, and the combos are going to be fucking huge. Kratos is cool, but Dante is more likeable, for me at least. As you said, they are all fantastic games. Anyway, why haven't you gotten a 360 yet! Go and do eet. Do eet naaaaaw!

Tellyn Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - 8.5/10 Really fun, nice graphics, very atmospheric. The camera's a bit dodgy at times but it's an awesome game.
Letty Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Halo 3 - Forum game last night, with added Zelda_freak He has the most awful laugh.
The Bard Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Halo 3 - Forum game last night, with added Zelda_freak He has the most awful laugh. He totally does, it's so spastic and random, and it's always out of place, like you can't tell whether you didn't get a joke, or whether he's just half an hour late on one.
ipaul Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Crackdown: 7/10 Very fun, but the missons are very repetitive. The variety in the rest of the gameplay make up for this somewhat, but not completely. Also there are not any wow moments, while the game remains consistently good, there are never any stunning set pieces. The game could also be very short if you really wanted it to be, though I think that would be missing the point somewhat. The driving sections of the game were also rather poor in my opinion and the ending was very meh. Still, well worth the tenner I bought it for

The driving sections of the game were also rather poor in my opinion and the ending was very meh. Still, well worth the tenner I bought it for Set pieces? Crackdown is a sandbox game; there are no moments in the game that are predetermined, the beauty of it is that the dynamic city and enemy A.I. is meant to react to what you do in it, giving you a completely individual experience every time you play and that the player is allowed to tackle the game's objectives in any way they choose, set pieces restrict the player, Crackdown is all about giving the player freedom to do as they please. I'm just saying don't criticize the game for not having something that completely goes against the ideology behind it. If you want a game with great set pieces I think you want something like Call of Duty/Half Life/Resident Evil 4. P.S. Clearly you haven't downloaded the 'Keys to the City' expansion for Crackdown, do it now! *it's free btw* Oh and playing it co-op is awesome.
bmoose Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Super Mario Bros 3 (VC) 9.6 Purchased it courtesy of the new Wii points shopping cards and it is much better than I remembered. Always overlooked it because of Super Mario World and 64 but this one runs them damn close as the best Mario game.
