Chris the great Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 i dont see why people are all sahing the wii is turd, or not a proper games console. granted, i feel let down by the direction nintendo are going, wii music is not a true game, dont get me wrong. i got a ps3 because there was little of interest for me on the wii. i did think it was a let down, yet when playing, especialy with friends, im reminded of the pure fun factor, the joy of playing that first attracted me to games as a boy. some how, racing on mario kart with the wheel, looking like a twat is more fun then stealing a car on gta and going on a crazy rampage. i have no doubt gta is the better game, yet some how it isnt quiet as fun.
Domstercool Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I've played Persona 4 for 14 hours now and I have to say, SOOOO GOOD AND INTERESTING. I really don't know where the story is going to go. I have to state that please don't ignore it just because it's not on a flashy next gen looking console because it's better than any RPG any other system has had since well Persona 3, heh.

Right so your ps3 broke, you sent off for a refurbished one, that one didn't work so they sent a brand new one? Also how can sony send me a new 60gb PS3 when they don't even make them anymore? (If they do send me a brand new one, that will be sweet as I brought mine second hand anyway.)

Yup pretty much, i had a huge go at them on the phone as the obviously didn't even test the machine before they sent it out. So i got a brand new one in return.
Columnar Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 So much for PS3s being more reliable than 360s... My 11-month old 40GB PS3 has decided to stop reading Blu-Ray games and movies. I was merrily watching Indy IV for the first time tonight and the bloody thing crashed about halfway through the film and was making these weird noises, as if the laser was moving backwards and forwards a lot. I then had to force the system to shut down to even get the disc out and now it just will not load up any BD discs. Is the Sony repair service easy to use? Think I'm going to wait till after the New Year to send it in but so pissed off just now.

dwarf Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 It may be because of your TV settings, or Display Settings in the settings part on your cross-media bar. (or your current PS3 system update is old) Everything that can go wrong for you seems to be going wrong.

GTA is one of the best games ever released (I think almost every review backs that up) I thougt MK was basically the cube version with added gimmicky controls. My opinion of course.

Well if you look back at the Gamecube era, a lot of people realised that in order for Nintendo to have any chance of there former glory (in terms of sales) they would need to attract the casual gamer market, just like the PS1 and PS2 had done previously, also (just like the PS1 & PS2) they realised they needed a diverse range of games. My point is there are certain people around here that are unhappy with the direction Nintendo have taken, because of all the shovelware and medicore PS2 ports (fair enough). Last time I checked though, Gamecube never had an exclusive Dragon Quest game coming out for it. Even if your not a fan of that particular game, it shows that good games are on the way, but their gonna take longer to make than all the shovelware that's currently plastered on all the shelves. Iwata even said that himself. Sometimes I wander what the fuck is wrong with these people.

GTA is rubbish. MK Wii is excellent. Hope that helps. GTA was way overhyped. well i must be an idot considering ive spent about 30 hours on gta and think its great. only flaw i can find is that hanging out with friends is a chore. oh, and ocasionaly, making you drive back to the start of a mission seems pointless.

I think it's a really good level but I hope it gets played by quite a few people because it takes quite a lot of effort. Also is there any way of making it so that the paintinnator doesn't ruin the look of the boss? I can't find a way...

S.C.G Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 What is this shit? there was an icon that appeared after I updated my PS3 that said I could download home, so I do that, let it reserve it's space and now it says it's a beta and just says "There has been a problem downloading content" when I try to connect... If it's a beta that I can't get into then why would it say that I can download it? is there any way of deleting this crap? I natually assumed they'd finally released the glorified Second Life inspired piece of "social software" but if I can't do anything with it then I don't want it. I may leave it if it can just be upgraded to full version once it's properly released, still pretty shit that it lets you download something thats now useless though. *edit* nm, deleted it.

I downloaded it, got the title screen for the first time (which said Home Beta) then clicked the thing to go online and it just said it failed to download something, so clearly something isn't right with it :/ meh I might download it again when they fix it but quite frankly I'm not gonna waste my time with it atm, besides, I've got Little Big Planet to play.
Chris the great Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 loving the ps3 atm. been playing world at war online. im a machine. single handedly took out an enemy tank, and was my teams MVP by a good bit. some guy with a head set was really getting upset we lost, despite the fact he was pretty pants at it.
