Wesley Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 That looks like one long video game cut scene; a cross between WoW and Halo. (Rubbish.)
Cube Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Oh dear.... Oh dear.... Apparently there's going to be a film about that bad-but-not-as-awful-as-you'd-expect-singer-that-almost-won-Britain's-Got-Talent. And she's going to be played by Robin Williams.
Retro_Link Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 So a fucked up Mrs Doubtfire 2! ... actually I don't believe this! What just because she looked Mrs Doubtfire and was also scottish?!
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Oh dear.... Oh dear.... Apparently there's going to be a film about that bad-but-not-as-awful-as-you'd-expect-singer-that-almost-won-Britain's-Got-Talent. And she's going to be played by Robin Williams. I was just about to post this, I think it's very unfair. Because Robin Williams is attractive, and Boyle is not.
Retro_Link Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 Seems to have come out of no where, but... http://entertainment.uk.msn.com/movies/news/Article.aspx?cp-documentid=149367837>1=61502 Megan Fox set to play Catwoman Megan Fox has apparently signed up to play Catwoman in the next Batman film. The Transformers sex symbol will thrill fans by donning a tight PVC catsuit to play Selina Kyle in director Christopher Nolan's next instalment about the comic book hero, The Sun reports. Megan, 23, follows in the footsteps of Michelle Pfeiffer, who played Catwoman in Batman Returns, and Halle Berry, who played the vixen in flop spin-off movie Catwoman. Christian Bale will return as millionaire Bruce Wayne/the Caped Crusader and Sir Michael Caine will be back as his faithful butler Alfred. Filming is due to begin next year with the movie expected to hit screens in 2011. This will be a major role for her, unlike the 2 lines she delievers in Transformers. Acting wise she can't be any worse than Katie Holmes who was decent enough I thought. And she's certainly got the very sexy and feline look! But isn't she a very young choice? Having not read all the comics I'm certainly not clued in on her all character back story, but I thought she was supposed to be the same sort of age as Bruce Wayne? I guess Nolan's going to do something different with the character anyway, in the way that Ledger's Joker was portrayed in a different way to other movie adaptations. Looking forward to more news.
Dan_Dare Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Shit casting. odd, considering the caliber of the other films' cast.
Retro_Link Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 Shit casting. odd, considering the caliber of the other films' cast.I'd put her on par with or above Katie Holmes, but then you'd expect Catwomen to be a more demanding role than that character.
killthenet Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 "The Sun reports..." The same Sun who reported only a few weeks after The Dark Knight came out that Eddie Murphy would be playing The Riddler. How you can fall for their bullshit, i'll never know.
Daft Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I remember a lot of people thought Heath Ledger was shit casting. My only issue with Megan Fox is that the doesn't look like she could last round against a fruit fly, let alone some thugs. I'll reserve judgement until I see more. And Katie Homes was a travesty. I wince every time she is on screen.
Retro_Link Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 "The Sun reports..." The same Sun who reported only a few weeks after The Dark Knight came out that Eddie Murphy would be playing The Riddler. How you can fall for their bullshit, i'll never know. Oh yeah didn't see The Sun reference in there! I was willing to take this as rumour anyway, but you're right, now it's even more so! Considering we still haven't heard confirmation from Nolan that he's on board, I thought it a bit strange that casting was already underway.
Happenstance Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Hopefully not true, I really dont think much of Megan Fox and id rather not see her in a Batman movie
Daft Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 (edited) Tilda Swinton for Catwoman, please. Dye her hair black, she'd look ace, and I could see her beating the shit out of a lot of people. Not to mention, she's 6-foot-tall. Edit: While I'm at it, Tricia Helfer as Dr Harleen Quinzel and then re-cast The Joker but make sure he's completely different to Ledge's Joker (who was fucking ace but there's no point in trying to imitate). And Sam Worthington as Bane. Actually, just get Sam Worthington in there somehow. As amazingly poor as Terminator was, he managed to be pretty stonkingly great in it. Edited August 26, 2009 by Daft
Retro_Link Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 ^ personally wouldn't be a fan of Tilda Swinton in the role and definatly don't think catwoman should be some hulking 6 footer! I honestly think catwoman's too difficult to cast and along with Penguin and Robin should be left well alone for Nolan's third (and likely final) movie. I'd like a rounded and complete story trilogy with Nolan, so we can close that Batman chapter and keep it safe forever! Then let some other director who will innevitably go on to do 4, 5 and 6 tackle those awkward characters!
Daft Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Well if not her, my vote would go to Eva Green. I think Catwoman is great in The Long Halloween and if she was introduced, which I think she definitely could be, it should be in the vein of Year One. She shouldn't have a massive part but she should just be in and out with her own agenda.
Retro_Link Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 Well if not her, my vote would go to Eva Green. She shouldn't have a massive part but she should just be in and out with her own agenda. Yeah I'd go along with all that.Actually now you've mentioned Eva Green I can really see her in the role, perched on the corner of a rooftop, long wavy hair blowing in the wind. Now that would actually be something to get excited about!
Happenstance Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Id like to see Catwoman in these new style Batman movies, it would be more interesting to see a badguy who he doesnt just go after and take down. Someone who hes possibly conflicted about and all horny and whatnot. The ultra realism in the movies now is ok but sometimes it does feel a bit like disrespecting the source material, like Nolan is too good for it.
Paj! Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Don't believe it. Remember when it was "confirmed" that Cher was going to be Catwoman? I bet he won't even use Catwoman in the next one, just to fuck with people's expectations. In any case, no one'll top Michelle Pfieffer.
Retro_Link Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 ^ just like no one would top Jack Nicholson Honestly watching them now I think all the actors in the old movies are completely over rated. But then it's difficult to draw comparisons anyway because the other movies are almost comical, where as Nolans taken a very different direction. And yeah, now 'The Sun' has been brought to my attention I don't believe it either!... lol Cher!!
Happenstance Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Probably the only thing I prefer from the old movies was Michael Keaton, still prefer him as Batman. Michelle Pfieffer was good as that type of Batman but in the same way as Nicholson was good as the Joker. They were more movie characters rather than the comic ones and I prefer the way they are written in the comics.
Paj! Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 It might just have been me that wasn't THAT in love with Nicholson as Joker. He was good, but played more like himself mixed with the 60's Adam West show Joker. Not my fave. But I just think that Burton did really well with both Penguin and Catwoman, as, directly translated from comics, they'd be very hard to make particularly interesting/engaging. Poison Ivy is much more the femme fatale than Catwoman in the comics nowadays. I like that the movie one had a different take on the character that worked really well.

I can't stand Nicholson as the Joker. And I agree that it's just like himself playing the role, it's difficult to descibe, but I don't feel he really tried to get into the character or anything, he's just playing a joker! Cube Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 It seems odd that they're casting for a film when they've yet to decide who's writing or directing it...
