It actually sounds like a 30 Rock joke...

Possibly because they recently made a joke about how Tracy Jordan (his character who is pretty much just Tracy Mogan) was meant to be in Rush Hour. Plus when he listed some movie credits including "A Blafair to Rememblack." Even the name 'Live Free or Die Hard' sounds like a spoof.

I heard the best news ever today. One of my favourite films is getting a sequel after years of rumours. Yes, that's right, Terry Marcel is to make a sequel to Hawk the Slayer which is to be called Hawk the Hunter and amazingly it seems to have $10 million in financial backing. If you're not familiar with Hawk the Slayer behold the trailer:

Unfortunately John Terry (Jack's dad in Lost) wont be reprising his role as Hawk, but I'm hopeful that he'll make a cameo.

Best. News. Ever.

I love these 80's crappy fantasy flicks. :D They're so awesome! :heh:

Rambo vs The Wrestler?

http://uk.movies.ign.com/articles/960/960164p1.html

US, March 6, 2009 - Mickey Rourke's post-Oscar nomination dance card is filling up fast, including a turn in director Sylvester Stallone's next film The Expendables. Now the British tabloids are suggesting that Rourke and Stallone may reunite for the fifth installment in one of the latter's most popular franchises.

According to The Sun, the two actors met recently in Los Angeles where "Sly begged Mickey to sign for Rambo V. Mickey said he was up for it."

The paper claims Rourke would play the villain in the film, which they add would shoot later this year.

Stallone recently confirmed that there will be a Rambo 5, but "the conflict is whether to do it in America or a foreign country."

Fantastic Four Rebooted?

Fox reportedly wants a whole new take on Marvel's first family.

US, March 9, 2009 - Less than two years after the release of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, 20th Century Fox is reportedly looking to reboot their Fantastic Four franchise.

It was reported last fall that Fox chairman Tom Rothman was considering a reboot of Daredevil, and now IESB claims the studio is "looking to completely retool, recast and recrew the franchise."

The site points out that, obviously, this would mean no Ioan Gruffudd as Mr. Fantasic, no Jessica Alba as the Invisible Woman, no Chris Evans as Human Torch, no Michael Chiklis as The Thing, no Julian McMahon as Doctor Doom, and no director Tim Story.

IESB says Fox wants the new FF franchise "to be 'less bubble gum' this time round following the Iron Man template, which was a complete success in reviews and box office take but a bit darker when it came to its superhero."

A sequel, entitled Mad Max 4: Fury Road (MM4FR), was originally intended to be the fourth of the Mad Max franchise of science fiction action movies. The film was announced in December 2002 to begin shooting in Australia in May 2003.The status of the Fury Road film now is in pre-production. Although the project was given the green light for a $100 million USD budget, Fury Road has been in hiatus due to security concerns related to trying to film in Africa, because the United States and many other countries have tightened travel and shipping restrictions. However, as recently as November 2006, George Miller stated that he still has full intentions to make another Mad Max film, telling the press that he’s considering doing the film without Gibson, saying, “There's a real hope. The last thing I wanted to do is another Mad Max, but this script came along, and I'm completely carried away with it."The film's screenplay was co-written with cult British comic creator Brendan McCarthy, who also designed many of the new characters and vehicles. Ten News in Australia has stated that George Miller is definitely making another Mad Max film. He has stated that he wants a Hollywood unknown to take the role of Max Rockatansky. Miller again confirmed his desire to make another Mad Max at the 2007 Aurora film maker initiative. However, he did say he thought Mel Gibson would not be interested in the film because he is too old.

On 5 March 2009, it was announced that the franchise would be revived with a "3-D anime feature film". George Miller is resurrecting the idea as an R-rated, stereoscopic anime flick for theatrical release.

I think they did Fantastic Four fine. It was either gonna be a light fun adventure thing (which both films are) or deadly serious, which would be harder to pull off with the subject material.

Again, unless they just do the Ultimate Fantastic Four origin. More fims should use the ultimate titles as a base, they're far more grounded in reality.

Johansson set for Iron Man 2

Buzz suggests star has signed on to play Black Widow.

UK, March 12, 2009 - Another day, another Iron Man 2 rumour semi-confirmed. Only yesterday did Nikki Finke report in her Deadline Hollywood Daily blog that Mickey Rourke had successfully negotiated a deal to appear in the shell-headed sequel.

Now the same site has spoken on the film's big piece of casting gossip, insisting that Scarlett Johansson has signed on the dotted line to play Black Widow, replacing Emily Blunt who dropped out due to scheduling problems.

Apparently Johansson's contract (described as for 'lowball money' by a Finke insider), is similar to the deal Samuel L. Jackson signed for Nick Fury and ties her to several marvel movies, including The Avengers.

Apparently, Johansson initially screen-tested for the role but lost out.

Like the Rourke story yesterday, this has yet to be confirmed by tight-lipped Marvel Studios. But with Johansson seamingly set to play Black Widow, do you think she's right for the role?

Soroity Row trailer

I know it's another teen horror movie, but the twist in the trailer properly shocked me. I gasped and mouthed OMG...don't laugh!

Though tbh, it looks like a rehash of I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Ohhh this piques my interests.

Been a while since I´ve wanted to go see a horror slash movie.

But yeah it´s pretty much I Know What You Did Last Summer

Damn,.....that rules. On all accounts. Rourke in and Scarlet in...thats...I mean she was/is stunning. Iron Man 2 is going to rule. Hard.

hang about. Doesn't Black Widow spend an inordinate amount of time clad in black leather and/or Spandex?

And Scarlet is playing her?

...

Leather.

Scarlett actually suits the Yelena Belova Widow more than the Natasha Romanoff Widow (the ginger one);
