I hate how "officially" means absolutely nothing here. I do love, however, that they bracketed her "bajillion" with "millions" in case anyone couldn't translate it themselves.

Reading between the lines it just sounds like she'd love to be involved in some capacity with the next generation, while clearly there has been no official contact with her regarding any future plans of the franchise. That she "insists" the world needs a new Wonder Woman just says that the Powers That Be* are, if anything, less inclined to actually produce such a show.

*Ha! See, Ashley, I can do a reference too :P

I think its just more of a case of Carter talking about WW than being asked in any official or meaningful capacity. Plus im pretty sure Joss Whedon said recently that DC films won't work because of some reasons I forget but its on whedonesque no doubt if you want to dig. But we'll see, Whedon has a plan for us all.

(I can do more obscure references too :p)

Now for something about as funny as genocide;

HOLLYWOOD -- The fourth installment of "High School Musical" will return the franchise back to where it started: the Disney Channel.

Featuring a new cast, the "High School Musical 4" telepic is skedded to begin production later this year and premiere on Disney Channel in 2010.

Peter Barsocchini, who penned the first three installments, returns as screenwriter. Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush are also back as exec producers. Disney Channel did not say whether Kenny Ortega would return as director.

"High School Musical 3: Senior Year," helmed by Ortega, took in nearly $250 million last year in worldwide theatrical release.

I don't know much about Wonder Woman, but won't Eliza Dushku look too American for the role? Wouldn't someone like Morena Baccarin be better suited?

Yeah but Dusku is slightly more famous.

(and not that is nothing a wig wouldn't fix but last I saw Baccarin she had short cropped hair)

To be fair...neither is Wonder Woman at times

Still, nothing a few weeks in the sun won't sort out with Dushku. But im fine whatever really. Ginna Torres has also been suggested by random internetters, as has Charisma Carpenter (who is starting to look her age minus ten years which is still a bit much for WW unfortunatly).

That picture virtually defines Amazonian...what were you meaning by posting it?

Depends how you define Amazonian really, other than potentially more tanned skin I can't see how Dushku can't be made to look Amazonian (and even thats possible).

(and in somewhat of a defense im not going to pretend like im an expert on the Amazonian look so forgive me for that)

Plus its a moot argument all in all really. The WW movie is dead.

I heard the best news ever today. One of my favourite films is getting a sequel after years of rumours. Yes, that's right, Terry Marcel is to make a sequel to Hawk the Slayer which is to be called Hawk the Hunter and amazingly it seems to have $10 million in financial backing. If you're not familiar with Hawk the Slayer behold the trailer:

Unfortunately John Terry (Jack's dad in Lost) wont be reprising his role as Hawk, but I'm hopeful that he'll make a cameo.

Best. News. Ever.

Well I don't mean the literal look of those that come from the Amazon. I mean the mythical race of Amazons that she comes from. Who are basically just greek, but very athletic and muscular etc. And huge tits and ass.

As I say, all moot really.

However this is not moot, this is amazing

File under "Hollywood is reading my diary:" Amanda Seyfried is in talks to star in Zack Snyder's upcoming all-girl ass-kicker Sucker Punch. No joke, just last night I was catching up on Big Love -- which...amazing this season -- and thinking how versatile Seyfried is. She was a convincing, lovable ditz in Mean Girls (her breasts can always tell when it's going to rain), but has, mercifully, not played a string of airheads. Her sometimes bubbly, sometimes seductive, very mysterious ghost of Lilly Kane on Veronica Mars gave an emotional foundation to the entire series -- what kind of girl engenders this sort of devotion, and suspicion, from such a range of people? She proved she has both pipes and considerable charm in Mamma Mia!, but it's her intelligent but conflicted Sarah Henrickson on Love that really seals the deal for me. The girl can cry.

Sucker Punch, which has been in the works for about two years, sounds like kind of a mindfrak. It follows Babydoll (Seyfried) as her stepfather sends her to a mental institution to be lobotomized. "While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man," according to the Hollywood Reporter. "Snyder...has described the fantasy world as 'Alice in Wonderland with machine guns,' blending such elements as dragons, B-52 bombers, and brothels." Great, this is what I get for giving up dragon lobotomy brothel stories for Lent.

Seyfried's supporting cast could include Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Evan Rachel Wood, and Emma Stone. Count me in times one million! What say you, PopWatchers? Ready for Seyfried to kick some butt for Zack?

Sounds immense and Amanda Seyfried is, as the article doesn't express enough, fantastic. I can't wait :D! (shame about Hudgens)

The writer-director behind the “Clerks†movies and “Zack and Miri Make A Porno†is making the leap to big-deal studio filmmaking.

Kevin Smith will direct “Live Free Or Die Hard†co-star Bruce Willis and “30 Rock†icon Tracy Morgan in the Warner Bros. buddy comedy “A Couple of Cops,†scripted by TV writers Marc & Robb Cullen (“Lucky,†“Gary The Rat,†“Heist,†“Las Vegasâ€).

It's the first feature Smith will direct that he didn’t write himself and the first Smith directorial effort released by a major studio.

Variety describes the premise:

[The project centers on] a pair of cops who track down a stolen baseball card, rescue a Mexican beauty and must deal with gangsters and laundered drug money.

I love Kevin Smith and his movies but this sounds so horrifyingly generic that it makes me want to puke.
