EEVILMURRAY Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 http://news.sky.com/skynews/video/videoplayer/0,,30000-1270077,.html The man's been ressurrected to fight against the prostate cancer massive.
Shorty Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Wow... that's a pretty good idea. I assume it was all given the A-OK by his family and I'm sure he wouldn't have objected to the idea, being a comedian and hopefully helping people. Quite well made too. Apart from that bit with the thought bubble, which looked like an animatronic themepark attraction, the quality was pretty high and it was fairly believable. Getting the voice close is the impressive part though. Here's hoping it saves some lives.
flameboy Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 thats incredible....great idea whoever came with that deserves a raise!
Fresh Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 The company that did it have won an oscar for their work before.
Retro_Link Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Awesome advert, very well done! Bob Monkhouse was a legend!
EEVILMURRAY Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 Bob monkhouse , a superhero battling cancer? More of a superhero than Batman.
Ant-Shimmin Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I have to admit, That sent horrible shivers down my spine....
Fresh Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 How did they pull that off? Looks brilliant, like he actually made it himself. He must of recorded the voice before his death though right? Must of seen it was coming. Or is it an impersonator, help me out I'm confused. Some of it is cut from what he said while others they use an impersonator.
Roostophe Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I like this, it's really well done, a couple of flaws but still great. I was gutted when Bob died, he was a funny bloke.
monkeyking87 Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I was never the big fan of him, but I must admit he is missed, it seems like his humour as well and must admit it had me laughing through the ad, what a great way to be remembered and if it saves some lives, GOOD ON BOB!!
Rummy Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I saw an advert for this the other day as I went past something on a bus, and I was very very confused for a while. I didn't even know he had prostate cancer, I thought he died of a heart attack or something. Was a bit weird, was wondering if it was all cleared, or if it even needs to be! The poster I saw though, just...it seemed so bob monkhouse.
BlueStar Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 They could do a Bernard Manning one to raise awareness of what he died of as well. "What's black and doesn't work?" "My kidney."

Ramar Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I never really liked him when he was alive.. Now he's come back to haunt me! Anyway, the advert is pretty awesome, nice of his family to give permission for them to do it really.
rokhed00 Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 They've put up one of the posters just round the corner from the end of my road. It's quite disconcerting coming round the corner and having a giant picture of your dad pointing at you.

Which one are you? Abigail I presume? He had three children but only his daughter Abigail survived him. His son Gary, who had cerebral palsy, died in 1992, while his son Simon, from whom he had been estranged for almost a whole decade, died of a heroin overdose in a Bangkok hotel in 2001.
rokhed00 Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Which one are you? Abigail I presume? No, I'm the son of his evil twin. I'm sure I've told everyone dozens of times, I just say he's my dad for fun.
